Re: [hlds] [TF2] Timeouts on Mapchange
Have seen it the other day as a player on a TBR 2fort only server. On mapchange I lost connection and the server was gone. - Original Message - From: Alec Sanger eclyp...@hotmail.com To: hlds@list.valvesoftware.com Sent: Thursday, January 01, 2009 12:27 AM Subject: [hlds] [TF2] Timeouts on Mapchange Just want to get an update from everyone. It seemed like it stopped for a couple days but all of a sudden it's hitting us on every other map change on all of our servers. Very tough to keep them full now. It's a real problem. While valve has acknowledged this bug, they still haven't offered a timeframe for a fix. Re: [hlds] [TF2] Timeouts on Mapchange
Had this happen to me last night. Only me and one other guy on our TF2 server. As soon as we got disconnected I connected to the server via RDP (Win 2k3 server) to check out the console. No error messages or anything. It was like the console was just stuck. After a few more seconds the console unstuck itself and continued on it's merry way... Re: [hlds] [TF2] Timeouts on Mapchange
yeah that's what happens, the server never drops just hangs on map changes. been a long going battle for a fix, but it will probably be a while before we see one. on your client you can change the timeout cvar (sv_timeout i think) to 60 seconds and you will 99% of the time connect back to the server before the time is up although since no one else ups there timeout value you will probably be in a dead server since most people think that the server just crashed and goto a different one.
