sv_lan 1 works the same, i can see it in the LAN tab but it times out after 4 connection attempts. Quoting syntron...@gmail.com syntron...@gmail.com: check sv_lan 1. Your brother should be able to use the local IP. It'll list your external IP since valve wouldn't know your internal IP unless the software reported it. So try sv_lan 1 on the server and check in the lan tab of the server browser. [hlds] Server Issue
Hi, I run a Dedicated Server for TF2, and every time I start it up, I get the error message, 'exec: couldn't exec cp_dustbowl.cfg' I have tried editing the maps that the server starts with, on the server launch batch file, and it comes up with the same message, but with the map I'm trying to use. Is this a common problem, or is it unfixable. The server still runs Also, I seem unable to update my server, and get the error message saying 'ISteamHTTP unavaiable for update scheme', or something along those lines. How do I fix this? Re: [hlds] Server Issue
When a server runs a map it exec's the name of the map to see if there's a specified config for it. Some servers ops use different settings per map(like timelimit/roundlimit). It is OK to ignore these. These config files are optional. If they really bother you, just touch the file in the error and go about your business. ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds

Re: [hlds] Mandatory TF2 update coming this afternoon
Sorry for the double-reply but I just thought of something. I used to run a server monitoring program which would automatically restart servers if they quit responding for certain periods of time. If for some reason a mapchange took longer than normal, the program would just restart the server even if it was still running, which lead to more issues than it solved, as I've rarely seen where the console will just lockup. Usually server just crashes and restarts normally. Do you guys have any port monitoring going on for auto-restarts? Re: [hlds] HLDS Issue
Well the only firewall present is the windows one and nothing on that has been changed at all as there is already a firewall exception for that, i should mention i'm running the server on localhost already so i'm not sure how there could be a firewall issue for myself, it worked fine with the current settings until about a month ago as i said :) Quoting Cc2iscooL cc2isc...@gmail.com: Sounds like you may be having a firewall issue. Re: [hlds] Server Issue
what he means, is that on mapchange on the server, the server looks in /cfg/ for a .cfg file with the name of the map, for map specific settings. so if you change the map to koth_nucleus the server will be looking for a /cfg/koth_nucleus.cfg file to get map specific settings. if there is no file, you get that error, safe to ignore. if you dont like that, just make a empty text file with each mapname.cfg on the server.
