Re: [hlds] Family Sharing Ban Bypass.

2013-10-17 Thread Dog
Unfortunately you don't understand the impact that gaming communities have
on games.
They extend the life of the game by providing a better gaming experience by
keeping immature, filth filled jerks out of their communities. Console
gaming can be a miserable experience, having to endure some of the moronic
elemnt out there.
Having the ability to block undesirables is a necessary part of running a
community. Players want to come back to a community as they enjoy the
experience, without having to worry about any of the garbage that is
normally associated with gaming.

Kyle is totally correct to ask for something to help the game continue.
He is an excellent contributor to this community and only has a genuine
interst in keeping the game fun to play.

Fortunately, since you will be playing on your LAN with your friends, this
should really not matter to you at all.

So, TLDR;
VALVe, add some way of differentiating between family sharing players.
Please and thank you.

You already said it's f2p and so is the serverware, if you invested real
money in it you're just plan stupid and deserve all the heartache you
create for yourself. May I suggest you run a local network server that way
you can play against all your friends (yourself) and ban until your hearts

We are running the latest version of SM on all our servers, Windows and
Linux.
Even on a server with no mods or addons, the server will still crash, for no
apparent reason, although it seems to happen more frequently on servers that
run pl_maps or pipeline. We have one particular Windows server that is
driving us nuts with its instability, yet it has pretty much the same
configuration as the others.
Any mdmps seem to be engine related.

Subject: [hlds] New DOD:s and SourceMOD Help

This is a desperate plea for help. Do any of you have the New DOD:s
 running stable with sourcemod?

It ran fairly stable throughout the beta for me, but now it crashes many
times a day. I have tried several different versions also..

I do not want to use anything other than sourcemod. Due to running it on
multiple games, and I just plain like it. But I need to start looking for
 alternatives I suppose.

Re: [hlds] Team Fortress 2/Dedicated Server Update Released

2008-07-03 Thread Dog
Been full since the update.
The two servers that always give problems are the Windows machines.
Both are holding steady at 237Mb, one of which is a 24/7 Goldrush server so
no frequent map changes, but the other is a Custom server with a map change
every 30 mins. No problems there either

...fingers crossed.

Re: [hlds] dod:s server crash exploit

2008-07-02 Thread Dog
Do you have SourceMod?

Try this script and see if helps.
It counts up the number of times a player changes class. It kicks them if
they go over that number.
If they die, the count gets reset.

It's in .sp format so you'll need to compile it (I'm sure you wouldn't want
me to post an .smx without knowing what's in it...lol)

CVARS
sm_class_spam_max 8

maximum number of times a player can change class.

I didn't post it in SM forums yet until we know this works.
One caveat - it doesn't detect changing to the same class since the event is
not fired when that happens.

Re: [hlds] TF2/OB memory leak

2008-06-27 Thread Dog
We also find that when the servers begin to overload with memory, they often
drop SourceMod settings.
For example, on one server that had been running full for four days, no
admins could get access.

Peaks last night on various Windows servers from 450 - 650Mb...
Had to reboot them all.

Our 3 Windows servers have always increased in mem size ever since TF2 was
released.
Over a 24 hr period, they can go from the usual 220Mb to 700Mb...and then
have to be restarted.

The other 4 Linux TF2 servers, we haven't had any problems with.

You might be able to join them but they won't show up.

Incidentally, BeetlesMod is causing server crashes on map changes
  Removed for now.

Noticed that myself, already unloaded BM from my servers.

2008-06-11 Thread Dog
SourceMod has been very stable.
We can't update Beetles yet because all the servers are full.

I'll do it in the morning!

Yep and I've tried unloading manis and sourcemod but it still won't change
map. If I try from either rcon or mani's it just times out. :\

One of my 3 servers crashes at map change and it's only running
 SourceMod.
Same config as the other two servers and AFAIK it's the only one with
  issues.

Mine still crashes even after un-loading BM :(

Is it me, or is anyone experiencing massive memory leaks with srcds?

In the past updates they have got significantly worse, I used to be
 forced
to restart my server every 72 hours, now it's about 24 hours. Srcds will
 go
from using 260MB of usage on startup to nearly 600-700MB+ per instance
  within 24 hours.
