Re: [hlds] Listen Servers in MvM
Not completely related but I was playing MvM on a dedicated server hosted by a friend and I saw hats and miscs floating around. *Sent from my phone, please excuse any typos -Original Message- From: jfrra...@gmail.com Sent: 28/10/2012 5:09 PM To: hlds@list.valvesoftware.com Subject: [hlds] Listen Servers in MvM I've been running a private listen server for the Halloween event to see if we can beat Wave 666. So far, no dice, but we did discover this weird bug: whoever is hosting the listen server has the hats and miscs of the other players randomly swapped around, but only after the map has changed at least once. Screenshots below: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=105325277 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=90159708 Weapons are unaffected, just hats and miscs, and generally (though not 100% of the time) just from the perspective of the player running the server.___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: https://list.valvesoftware.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/hlds
Re: [hlds] DOD ok, but Valve no worky :(
I'm not too good with GoldSRC servers, as far as I know you only need the valve base game for mods, but if you'd like help with testing a connection, you should provide a server ip for people to connect to. *Sent from my phone, please excuse any typos -Original Message- From: Paul Williams Sent: 12/10/2012 9:40 AM To: hlds@list.valvesoftware.com Subject: [hlds] DOD ok, but Valve no worky :( Hi, I wonder if anyone can shed some light on a problem I am having. Just downloaded and updated HLDS (for the first time) and have been unable to get the server to work with the ‘Valve’ (i.e. original Half-Life) game. When starting the server, the initial dialog has nothing in the game or map drop downs. It will still let me click [Start Server], but seems to ignore the ‘hostname’ and ‘ip’ settings from server.cfg. I then cannot connect to the server in favourites or see it in the list of servers. After fiddling for a couple of hours, re-downloading, yada, yada, I decided to additionally download the DOD game, just as a sanity check. This is working fine! Don’t understand what I could have done wrong. Followed the same download/update steps for both games without receiving any error. Now when I fire up the HLDS, the initial dialog only has the entry for DOD in the drop down, no Valve. As I have never done any of this before, I am not sure if Valve should be in the list? After all it is kinda the base game anyhow. PS If anyone could test connecting to my DOD server that would be great. Its name is BanzaiBob Best regards, Paul___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: https://list.valvesoftware.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/hlds
Re: [hlds] strange CS:GO sv_password behavior
Isn't their a command like in TF2 that makes it so you have to join via server browser? *Sent from my phone, please excuse any typos -Original Message- From: steve grout Sent: 12/10/2012 2:23 AM To: Half-Life dedicated Win32 server mailing list Subject: [hlds] strange CS:GO sv_password behavior Hey guys, It seems that sv_password is removed after 1 person joins a server allowing any tom, dick or harry to join. Now don't get me wrong I don't have anything against tom, dick or harry it's just i'd like them not to be able to join the server if it's (or at least should be) password protected :) We have stuck it in server.cfg which applies the password but then is removed when someone joins and we have also tried setting it via HLSW and then joining and the same thing happens. Alsoit seems you can't set sv_password while someone is in the server. In desperation we tried setting sv_steamgroup_exclusive 1 so that we didnt get lobby traffic and in the hope that it would respect the sv_password but to no avail. I know of another person with this exact same issue after chatting in IRC so thought i'd throw it our there to you guys. To clarify... it's a vanilla server, no map change occurs no cfg's have sv_password (that i can see but being as there isnt a map change...) Re: [hlds] Setting Missions in MvM
I'd love a command for this, it really is annoying to have to vote to change to something else. Don't votes run commands after they are won? Maybe we could steal the command from there. Re: [hlds] Game hosting
I think he could be trying to say that the hosting services in his country are selling pirated servers instead of actual servers, and that he may want to try to compete with the services by hosting actual servers. I dunno however, it's just a guess. On Sun, Apr 29, 2012 at 10:46 AM, Team BOOM! teamb...@comcast.net wrote: My Friends, We shouldn't even bother discussing this on the list.
