Re: [hlds] 128 Tick
Hi Sachin, You must set a servers tickrate at the time of install. First uninstall your server. Then add the following switch argument to the steamCMD command line when you're re-installing your server '+sv_tickrate 128' Please ignore the asshatters that make fun of your very serious server question. And thank you for being a server host. May you be blessed by the sweet, sweet Ghost of Baby Jesus. [hlds] TF2 MOTD Browser
If you need to run ad's in the MOTDs to keep your servers running then just shut down your server(s). You're doing it wrong. You are not serving the gaming community if the community isn't making donations. I have never had any problems getting players to donate to the cause. Mike Vail (a.k.a. BOOM! Gaming Support [supp...@boomgaming.net] ) you must think everyone on this list is stupid. This mailing list is not for you to pitch your ad service. It's obviously a major failure based on the rankings of your servers. http://www.gametracker.com/search/?query=boom%21 http://www.gametracker.com/search/?query=boom%21=GO =GO People play games to play games not to help you have your little power trip. Re: [hlds] TF2 MOTD Browser
Thanks for the passive aggressive sales pitch T Marler {a.k.a. bloodyi...@shaw.ca). Sorry to inform you of this, but, NO SALE!! By calling the MOTD Browser a browser you have confused yourself into assuming you can place 'HIJACKWARE' into gamers lives. MOTD is an acronym for Message of The Day, a place for a quick message to anyone that chooses to play on a given server. Players can then choose to play or not play on a server based on their personal preference and their interpretation of the message. When server op's place 'HIJACKWARE' in the MOTD they are in essence stealing the users ability to leave by locking the game until the ad is played. Not to mention the assault on the users ears while the ad's play. This is offensive to many people in the community. The complaint that people just click through the ad's should be evidence enough that ad's are not something the community is willing to tolerate. I'm willing to bet if you start giving the players what they want you will start to get repeat players that will contribute to the cause, as opposed to forcing people to pay for 'your' servers for you. -Original Message- From: hlds-boun...@list.valvesoftware.com [mailto:hlds-boun...@list.valvesoftware.com] On Behalf Of T Marler Sent: Thursday, December 20, 2012 1:25 AM To: Half-Life dedicated Win32 server mailing list Subject: Re: [hlds] TF2 MOTD Browser I'm sorry Pizza but I for one do not agree with your aggressive sentiments. I may not necessarily have a large network of public servers, but I'm sure I'm not alone when it comes to the thought that not everyone is a charity. What may not work for you doesn't have to be the way other people do things. You can run your servers as you see fit, as can anyone else, including people who use Pinion ads. If you don't like it, too bad. This is life. Now, while it's hypocritical of me to ask that you actually get back to contributing to the discussion, it does need to be asked. So can you do that for us please? - Original Message - From: Pizza pi...@makemeapizza.com To: Hlds Servers(win32) hlds@list.valvesoftware.com Sent: Wednesday, December 19, 2012 11:16:16 PM Subject: [hlds] TF2 MOTD Browser If you need to run ad's in the MOTDs to keep your servers running then just shut down your server(s).
