Chances are good they are wearing different kind of hats. Keep an eye on

In that light, I thank the author for allowing us to remove this. I don't
like how they used third party programs to get the hats but I think this
totally could have been handled better by Valve.

The business model is that every time they release a big update, the game

Well awesome. I decided to examine my massive log files for when more than

Anyone able to beat that? Granted we've been experiencing well before it

We *should* have a fix ready for release next week, unless any problems
  arise during testing.

Now lets just hope that no problems arise during testing and it will be
released around when they expect it to. We know that delays can happen
so if it doesn't come next week, we at least know it should come soon.

Also, lets not spark the flame war on this issue. This email was just to

[hlds] what should my server rates be at?

2008-06-01 Thread blissend
I've been trying to figure out the rates my server will run best at by
reading http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98416 and
using http://www.reece-eu.net/drekrates.php

I'm not sure if its accurate especially in the way I did my speedtest. I
only have access to the command line since I have linux. My test was using
another 100mbps connection to test ftp download/upload. I got ~700KBps up
and down which is about 5600kbps.

My hardware is Intel Xeon X3220 Quad Core (oddly lists 2.5 in title of
/proc/cpuinfo but says 1998.0Mhz), 4GB DDR2-667 Memory.

So if I want to run 2 or 3, 32slot TF2 servers does this look right...
sv_minrate 0
sv_maxrate 10938
sv_minupdaterate 10
sv_maxupdaterate 36

Also what about sv_maxcmdrate, sv_mincmdrate?
