Same thing happened to me. I took the quickplay beta cvar out of the cfg 
and rebooted. Within 10 minutes the server was full.

Servers working fine here with the cvar set in server.cfg.


Just when I restarted the servers they immediately filled up. While I won't 
exactly complain there's a boatload of Americans on our EU server right now.
Needless to say we're having average latencies of far 200 right now. I don't 
think this is intended.

OK, I think putting it in a server.cfg is the workaround for now.

We'll fix it to make it legal to set it in autoexec in a later update.

The beta cvar has been working for me, with no crashes. Since the
update servers have been full through the night with no dropoffs going
at 23-24 players. Before this update it was a lot more spikey going
from 24 to 16 players at a time. I have it near the bottom of my
server.cfg configuration after my tf_server_identity_account_id and
tf_server_identity_token if that helps anyone.
