[hlds] Server rates for low bandwidth consumption
Any one get any hints on what kind of server rates I should be using for a trade server for the lowest bandwidth consumption? ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds

33/33 with a max rate of like 9000 would work. You could probably go lower. Re: [hlds] Server rates for low bandwidth consumption
Limit cmdrate and updaterate to 20 or 30, limit rate to something that doesn't cause too much choke (just mess around with rate settings when the server is full and try to keep choke pretty low). Higher rate will generally mean lower choke. Don't enable replays. Re: [hlds] Server rates for low bandwidth consumption
Basically, the lower you go the laggier it'll be. Setting update/cmdrate low will at least make the lag 'smoother': sv_maxupdaterate 10 sv_minupdaterate 1 sv_maxcmdrate 10 sv_mincmdrate 1 sv_maxrate 5000 If that's too laggy set maxrate a bit higher. It might stand going lower. ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds

The minimum cl_cmdrate is 10, and it might be the same for cl_updaterate too. 2011/8/5 John Schoenick nephy...@doublezen.net Basically, the lower you go the laggier it'll be.
