Re: [HPLIP-Devel] hplip 1.7.4a to 2.7.6: Now I can not print!

2007-06-25 Thread Suffield, David
The musb.c syslog error Operation not permitted most likely means you
don't have your /dev/bus/usb/xxx/xxx permissions set correctly.

Use lsusb to get bus:devnum then check your device node permissions with
the ls -l command. See the Technical Documentation:Portability
Reference for more info
http://hplip.sourceforge.net/tech_docs/tarball_install.html .

Subject: [HPLIP-Devel] hplip 1.7.4a to 2.7.6: Now I can not print!

 After having problems:
Something wrong happens to hplip after 1.7.1 release
I tried 2.7.6 release hoping it will fix my issues. Still the
 same problem.
Even worse: I can not print at all! hp-toolbox run in user
 mode returns:

error: Unable to communicate with device (code=12):
 hp:/usb/Deskjet_5900_series?serial=CN6471T0C604KF
 warning: Device not found
error: Unable to communicate with device (code=12):
 hp:/usb/Deskjet_5900_series?serial=CN6471T0C604KF
 warning: Device not found

however printer is connected and power on.
I use usb 2.0 cable made by HP and bought in HP internet shop
 together with printer.

How can I debug this problem?

 I use libusb 0.1.12

2007-06-24 Thread Zbigniew Luszpinski
OK. I fixed freezing in all hplip versions. Just recompiled all graphic
libraries hplip depends on.

But hplip 2.7.6 still can not print. All jobs get stuck in queue.
Another HP user confirmed he can not print too.

This is not a problem as I went back to hplip 1.7.4a and it works great.
