[Hugin-devs] [Bug 1054725] Re: PTBatcherGUI doesn't start from Hugin via menu command

2012-10-08 Thread hvdwolf
You are right. I just tried with two previous versions as well and it doesn't
work there either. So I checked the code and it has never been able to work
like implemented.
Currently the only work-around I can present to you is to start the
PTBatcherGui.app from finder from the folder where also your Hugin.app resides.

 says above that he's compiled a new bundle, but I don't know where to
 download it from.

  cpfind links against system flann, but includes the bundled flann

Status in Hugin - Panorama Tools GUI:

Bug description:
  During the build process, a system installed flann is detected fine,
  but the include lines for cpfind have these entries in this order:

   -I/path/to/builddir/src/foreign ... -I/usr/include

  The result is that although cpfind dynamically links to the system
  flann library, cpfind is actually compiled using the bundled flann
  headers. This fails on fedora f17, because it has flann-1.7.1, whereas
  Hugin HG tip bundles flann-1.6.1 headers.

  I tried fixing this by rearranging lines in CMakeLists.txt, but it
  doesn't seem to control the order of -I entries, so I don't know
  enough cmake magic.

  For the fedora package simply removing the src/foreign/flann folder
  lets me build ok, but this isn't a solution for most users.

Bug description:
  I tried creating a pto_gen.desktop file for Linux, this would allow a
  user to select multiple photos in a file browser and create a .pto
  project from the right-click context menu by running pto_gen.

  However this results in the .pto project being written to the users
  $HOME directory since pto_gen creates the output file in the current
  working directory.

  e.g. this is the sort of command I need to be able to run:

pto_gen /home/bruno/photos/P1030156.JPG
  /home/bruno/photos/P1030157.JPG /home/bruno/photos/P1030158.JPG

  What gets created is this file:

P1030156-P1030158.pto

  What I really need is this, i.e. the output file path needs to be
  constructed from the full path of the first file:

/home/bruno/photos/P1030156-P1030158.pto

Title:
  redundant columns in project list of PTBatcherGUI

Status in Hugin - Panorama Tools GUI:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Usually (i.e. using defaults in Hugins stitch dialog) both project file and
output files are located in the same folder. If that's the case both columns
Project and Output prefix in the project list of PTBatcherGUI display
almost the same information: each shows the complete path to the project while
Project shows the pto extension and Output prefix hides it.

  A more concise presentation would rearrange order (first file, then path) and
omit the path in the second column if both paths are identical, e.g. like this:
  Project column: project-name.pto (in /path/to/my/project/in/progress/)
  Output prefix column: output-prefix

  If both paths differ then only the relative difference of the second path is
shown, e.g. like this:
  Project column: project-name.pto (in /path/to/my/project/in/progress/)
  Output prefix column: output-prefix (in ../../stitched/)

  Another approach would be to only show the path as 'help text' when
  hovering with the mouse over one of these columns.

  Also, PTBatcherGUI doesn't remember column widths set by the user.
  Preset column width is absurd, i.e. too long for ID and too short
  for some other columns. An automatic approach to set the width
  according to the content would be nice to have. If the user sets the
  width this should be remembered by PTBatcherGUI.

  Current behaviour is observed in recent versions of Hugin /
  PTBatcherGUI on Mac OS X using a 1600x1200 display, on smaller screens
  (e.g. laptops) this might be rather annoying.

[Hugin-devs] [Bug 919086] [NEW] PTBatcherGui only reads Hugin's preferences on startup

2012-01-20 Thread hvdwolf
Public bug reported:

This can both be considered a bug as well as a feature request

PTBatcherGui only reads Hugin's preferences on startup.
In practiv\ce it means that when PTBatcherGui is open and one changes a
preference in hugin (like enblend options or other blender instead of enblend),
this change is not propagated to PTBatcherGui.
Please let PTBatcherGui read the preferences before every new batch job that is
started

** Affects: hugin
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

To Hal Vaughan:
- first option: Please reset your preferences to Default.
Second option (if the first doesn't work): delete all instances of your hugin
preferences from you home folder. You will find them in Library/Preferences.

[Hugin-devs] [Bug 912694] Re: App fails to stitch any photos

2012-01-18 Thread hvdwolf
Sorry. I posted to the wrong bug ticket.

This is an issue with Lion. In the dmg and on the website it is clearly
mentioned not to use the enblend inside the bundle but to use the
enblend from the enblend-enfuse-4.0 folder.

[Hugin-devs] [Bug 913146] Re: enblend trunk on MacOSX fails to compile on strerror_r declaration

2012-01-11 Thread hvdwolf
To answer bit by bit (as the compilation takes long):

Wrt the compilation error:
It turned out I had two config.h. Possbily due to my cross compiling actions
for the hugin bundle, working on a semi integration in the hugin bundle for
new binaries (e.g. enblend from trunk and multiblend), and the straight
compilation for testing purposes.
I undid the patch, removed the build folder, did a make distclean in the main
source folder.
Created a new build folder and ran ../configure etc and then make. It now
functions OK.

I'm sorry for that. I should better separate my build environments.

1) The output up to the exception:
See attached log.

Further results will come due time.

[Hugin-devs] [Bug 913146] Re: enblend trunk on MacOSX fails to compile on strerror_r declaration

2012-01-08 Thread hvdwolf
I made a small patch that seems to work. Compilations runs fine and I blended
two panoramas.
As I'm not a programmer I do not know whether this patch is a big error or not.

See attachment.

[Hugin-devs] [Bug 913146] Re: enblend trunk on MacOSX fails to compile on strerror_r declaration

2012-01-08 Thread hvdwolf
The third pano with the patched enblend ended in error:

enblend: an exception occured
enblend: Minimizer1D::set_bracket: minimum not bracketed
enblend: info: remove invalid output image enblend.jpg

The Version 4 enblend blends this pano correctly. I don't know whether
my patch causes this or a recent development or my pano source images.

Re: [Hugin-devs] [Bug 910160] Re: boost 1.48 gives errors on Mac OS X

2012-01-01 Thread hvdwolf
I made already numerous patches using option 2 which is the only one that
seems to work. The commit 5722:658ded2153f2 to trunk is not the solution.
Switching boost versions simply didn't work correctly in the bundle.

I will continue but it's a tedious job.

 Thanks,

 I will try, but not tonight anymore :)

 Harry

 2011/12/31 tmodes 910...@bugs.launchpad.net

 It has nothing to do with the mentioned changeset, because the file
 wxImageCache was not touched by this changeset.
 There seems to be a conflict with some Apple/MacOS macros and boost 1.48.
 This was already reported to boost:
 https://svn.boost.org/trac/boost/ticket/6219
 This should be fixed in boost.
 See also

 http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8173620/c-boost-1-48-type-traits-and-cocoa-inclusion-weirdness

 From the mentioned links you could try (all in wxImageCache.h, but try
 only one solution at one time, not all 3 at the same time):
 1.)  Add
 #define __ASSERT_MACROS_DEFINE_VERSIONS_WITHOUT_UNDERSCORES 0
 at the begin (before the inclusion of all other headers)
 2.) Add
  #ifdef check
  #undef check
  #endif
 directly before the inclusion of the boost libs.
 3.) Change the order of inclusions in wxImageCache.h, so the boost libs
 are included before the mac specific macros come in. Try putting
 #include boost/shared_ptr.hpp
 before the other headers.

 If workaround 1 or 2 are working, put them into #ifdef __APPLE__ #endif.
 For workaround 3 this should not be necessary (I hope, not tested).

 PS: Hugin compiles fine with boost 1.48 here on windows. I have no
 problems with this file.

Sorry. I forgot you are on an older version. The path should be as
below:

/Applications/Hugin.app/Contents/Resources/HuginStitchProject.app/Contents/MacOS/enblend

Good news--the tiger version version of enblend runs without any problems on
Lion.
I tried it on three different sets of pics, and at the command line several
times without errors.

Fusing works too (using the standard enfuse in RC3).

This confirms what I was already afraid of. It means that the openmp
setup has been changed from (Snow)Leopard to Lion. That's the reason why
the normal enblend crashes and the old Tiger enblend functions OK. The
only issue in using the old Tiger enblend is that it doesn't make
use of multiple cores when available. In a dual-core machine it will
improve performance by 10-15%. On a quad-core machine it will improve
performance by about 30-40%. Note that this is only the enblend step.

At least we have a work-around now.
enfuse is not an openmp binary. That's why ity simply functions.

[Hugin-devs] [Bug 814280] Re: OSX 10.7 Hugin 2010.2 and later. gnumake Abort trap: 6 on execution of enblend.

2011-08-17 Thread hvdwolf
Inside the dmg you can also find a folder enblend-enfuse-4.0. These contain the
enblend and enfuse version for Tiger. They are simpler ones without using the
openmp options as Tiger doesn't support openmp.
Could you try these tiger versions on Lion. Read the Readme for instructions.

I'm wondering if something is going wrong in the openmp/multi-threading
part of enblend.

[Hugin-devs] [Bug 814280] Re: OSX 10.7 Hugin 2010.2 and later. gnumake Abort trap: 6 on execution of enblend.

2011-08-16 Thread hvdwolf
Can you please run hugin again and generate the error again.
After the error please open a terminal and type tail -50 /var/log/system.log
systemlog.txt.
This will copy the last 50 lines into the file systemlog.txt. This will will be
in your home folder. I assume 50 lines are far too much, but please check if it
contains gnumake info.
Could you please attach that file to this bug ticket.

Another issue could be that enblend is not compatible with Lion. gnumake calls
enblend and because enblend fails, it issues an error back to gnumake. gnumake
is also used in earlier stages of the process and it doesn't fail there.
So could you again switch to a terminal and type
/Applications/Hugin.app/Contents/MacOS/enblend -v --version.
This will simply show you some info about enblend or enblend might crash.

[Hugin-devs] [Bug 808271] [NEW] Hugin on macosx doesn't parse extra cpfind parameters correctly

2011-07-10 Thread hvdwolf
Public bug reported:

I have a long line of scanned images. These images have only one neighbour
with repetitive data, hence I want to use the --linearmatch 1 argument. The
first run without it resulted in a lot of CPs found due to repetitions in the
background. When cpfind is called from hugin with --linearmatch 1 it gives an
error:
Parse error: Argument: 1
 Couldn't find match for argument

It does continue though.
The weird thing is that --ncores 1 is accepted which I also need on my dual
core system as the images are very big and I otherwise get a memory error
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/hugin/+bug/717944).
I then tried --ncores 1 --linearmatch 1, but that didn't help either. not in
any order of specifying. When running from the commandline it works fine (which
I finally did).

[Hugin-devs] [Bug 796138] [NEW] PTBatcherGui: new issues with project list maintenance

2011-06-12 Thread hvdwolf
Public bug reported:

Deleting/Moving projects in PTBatcherGui list still unstable.

normal deleting projects from the list now works.

However, when moving a project up or down in the list with the buttons on the
right-hand side it only works once.
You select a project and move it up or down, but then 2 projects (lines) are
suddenly selected. The one that was selected and the one with which it has been
exchanged.
Upon selecting a new project (line) that line gets selected but nothing happens.
From now on no single project can't be moved or deleted anymore.

** Affects: hugin

Ticket should be closed. According to the log Hugin was run using the
embedded enblend and enfuse whereas Tiger users should use the Tiger
versions of enblend and enfuse as delivered inside the dmg (/enblend-
enfuse-4.0/Tiger Universal) and documented in the Read Me First

Bug description:

  When opening a new image in lens_calibrate_gui the original settings are not
removed.
  After my own photo I took a small 640x480 example image from the internet
while the Maximum image size was still set to 1600.

  Every Maximum image size setting bigger than the real loaded image
  size makes l_c_g crash.

[Hugin-devs] [Bug 697039] Re: OSX 10.5 Leopard can't stitch

Status update:
After some week of testing (off maillist converation) we still don't have a
solution. This weekend 26/27 March I don't have time to work on it. The
solution itself might take 2 days or 2 weeks.
If you want to progress with the RC candidates, please do.

  OSX 10.5 Leopard can't stitch

Status in Hugin - Panorama Tools GUI:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  I am using Hugin 2010.4.10 on Mac OS 10.5.8.

  I am unable to stitch panoramas using either the assistant Create
  Panorama button, or the Stitch now... button in the stitcher tab. I
  have successfully loaded 3 images, and used the auto align button in
  the assistant tab to align them (and could see in a preview window
  that they were indeed loaded and aligned and cropped successfully).
  However, when I try to create a panorama in either of the two ways, I
  get a error dialogue that says Error during stitching, and the
  following in the message log:

  echo: write: Bad file descriptor
  gnumake: *** [info] Error 1

  This is the entire message log.

  I get this error no matter what format I try to save the file as
  (tiff, png, jpg) and no matter what filename I attempt to give it.

  Am I doing something obviously wrong?

[Hugin-devs] [Bug 697039] Re: OSX 10.5 Leopard can't stitch

2011-03-16 Thread hvdwolf
Tobi (TORO) already mentioned the thread
http://groups.google.com/group/hugin-ptx/browse_thread/thread/b18eaae2c7e21a80?pli=1.
There it is mentioned that it might be an issue with the shell being used.

I assumed that bash was the shell used by all Leopard users and this was backed
up by one user who tested my request (to do a set | grep SHELL wich resulted in
a SHELL=/bin/bash  ).
Today I got a offline message of a user who mentioned that his Leopard uses the
tcsh shell.

Can we somehow create a patch that forces the the shell to be bash in the
Makefile (at least for OSX). I already created myself a patch that did write to
the makefile a:
1) #!/bin/bash as first line
2) write a line SHELL=/bin/bash in the Tool configuration section
3) did both 1) and 2)

These options didn't seem to work, but I'm not a programmer and could be
doing it completely wrong. I would appreciate it if a programmer could
have a look at it.

However, I'm also looking into another direction now (4): On OSX we bundle
gnumake inside the bundle as we are dealing with different sets of make on OSX.
Could it be neccessary to write a patch to both the makefile and the code for
the OSX bundle to add a line to the Tool configuration section:
make=path/gnumake (identical to enblend/enfuse/PT*), so that Hugin knows
which (gnu)make to use. I can add this line to the makefile, but I have no idea
how it is called from hugin and at which positions. I'm afraid a programmer
needs to do this (please).

So concluding:
Are 1), 2), 3) worth looking into?
Is (4) and option?

To further test I changed my shell from bash, to tcsh and then to sh (all 3 are
different binaries on OSX. No symlinks).
Hugin simply does it's work for me on 10.6.

Re: [Hugin-devs] [Bug 733793] Re: About window crashes on OSX for 2011.0 beta versions

2011-03-13 Thread hvdwolf
2011/3/13 tmodes 733...@bugs.launchpad.net

 There are changes from 2 changeset necessary to fix this crash:
 038c0de240d6 and 0b204475079d. So it is not sufficient to only apply
 0b204475079d to beta2, because 038c0de240d6 was pushed after beta2.

I applied both your an Yuv's patch and now it works.

And finally I committed the third patch where Thomas undid part of Yuv's
patch.

It still works fine on OSX.

Thanks all.

2011-03-12 Thread hvdwolf
I'm very, very sorry. The code segment for the 2011.0 branch in the
previous post was one of my latest tries (and doesn't even compile).

The correct code segment from the 2011.0 branch, that makes Hugin crash on OSX,
is:
=
void AboutDialog::SetMode(int newMode)
{
if(m_mode==newMode){
return;
}

switch ( newMode ) {

case 0 :
// about tab
SetLogo(wxT(splash.png));

// dedication tab
SetLogo(wxT(dedication.png));
break;

default :
// all other tabs
SetLogo(wxT(logo.png));
}

m_mode=newMode;
return;

Forgotten to mention: This also happened in the exact same manner during
gsoc2010 and wasn't solved at that time. It means that it's not
introduced by one of the other projects or by the trunk itself.

[Hugin-devs] [Bug 679590] Re: OSX tiger build not linked against EXR library

2010-12-24 Thread hvdwolf
Sorry for the inacurate comment. With the pkgconfig file I meant the
OpenEXR.pc file.

Title:
  OSX tiger build not linked against EXR library

Status in Enblend:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Using Hugin on OSX 10.4.11 PPC, creating a HDR from three images. Stitching
fails and it told me to upload the error log here.
It says (see attachment):
enblend: cannot load image exp4_stack_hdr_.exr, because the
enblend: format of the file is unrecognized or unknown
gnumake: *** [exp4_hdr.exr] Error 1
I already retried after removing the spaces from the folders name, but error
stayed the same. I did not find other bug reports similar to this, but maybe I
overlooked something. Please be gentle, I am not a programmer or Unix pro.

It seems strange enblend does not recognize the .exr file, since it seems to be
created just moments before by the Hugin tools.

If there is anything I can do by providing more info or doing tests, I am more
than happy to help. Thanks for all the good work in this project!
