Mungkin sedikit ulasan dari Pak Klaas Vilanueva (Bakosurtanal) bisa
dijadikan sebagai tambahan ..





Meridian sentral (Central Meridian) umumnya terkait proyeksi peta, yang
dalam hal ini untuk wilayah Indonesia kiranya terkait proyeksi UTM.
Dunia dibagi dalam 60 zona dengan lebar zona adalah 6 derajat selisih
bujur.
Dengan zona 1 meridian sentralnya 3o bujur timur, zona 2 meridian
sentralnya
6o bujur timur dan seterusnya maka dicapai satu zona dengan neridian
sentral
105o bujur timur, yaitu pada zona nomor 18. Dapat dikatakan bahwa pada
setiap zona kemudian bila diproyeksi ke bidang datar meridian yang lurus
utara selatan diambil sebagai sumby Y dan garis katulistiwa yang diproyeksi
sebagai garis lurus tegaklurus proyeksi garis meridian itu diambil sebagai
sumbu X. Namun secara khusus untuk proyeksi UTM (Universal Transverse
Mercator) dipakai untuk harga Y notasi N untuk Northings dan untuk harga X
dibpakai notasi E untuk Eastings. Jadi koordinat satu titik tidak
dinyatakan
dengan simbol (X,Y) tetapi dengan notasi (N, E). tetapi ada modifikasi lain
untuk proyeksi UTM. Perpotongan salib-sumbu, yaitu perpotongan antara
meridian sentral dan garis ekuator yang diproyeksikan nilai koordinatnya
tidak (0,0), karena dengan adanya 4 kuadran maka akan titik-titik di
lapangan yang koordinatnya ada yang negatip nilai N atau nilai E nya. Oleh
karena itu per definisi untuk titik asal perpotongan salib sumbu itu
ditetapkan nilai koordinatnya bukan (0,0), melainkan (E=50 m;
N=1000m). Dengan demikian semua titik dalam satu zona koordinatnya
selalu positip, walaupun letaknya sebelah barat dari meridian sentral atau
sebelah selatan dari ekuator. Perhatikan bahwa satu zona UTM mencakup
wilayah yang lebarnya 6o dalam bujur, tetapi ke utara dibatas garis lintang
80o lintang utara dan di selatan dibatasi garis lintang 80o lintang
selatan.
Indonesia diliputi 9 zona UTM, yang masing-masing meridian sentralnya ialah
meridian dengan bujur timur 93o, 99o, 105o, 111o, 117o, 123o, 129o, 135o,
141o.

Koordinat UTM adalah satuan meter dan senantiasa harus ditambah berada
dalam
zona berapa, agar kalau mau ditransformasi ke koordinat geografis (lintang,
bujur atau latitude, longitude) dapat dilakukan. Rumus-rumus
transformasinya
ada dan kiranya mahasiswa Geodesi dapat membuat softwarenya atau dosen
Geodesi memiliki software-nya. Umumnya receiver GPS juga dapat
mentransformasinya karena ada built-in software dalamnya. Perhatikan
penjelasan ini hanya terkait sistem proyeksi UTM. Proyeksi jenis lain
memiliki ketentuan lain.

About The Seminar.

  Reflected  waves  amplitude  can significantly change with lithologic
variations  through  which  the  waves propagate and with increasing offset
between the seismic source and the receiver. Hence, the correlation between
amplitude  change  and  offset  can  be  utilized  to  infer  the  physical
characteristics  of  corresponding  rocks. This celebrated Amplitude Versus
Offset (AVO) techniques has been used as direct hydrocarbon indicator (DHI)
for  the  last three decades, and proves to be a valuable exploration tool.
Moreover,   this   offset-dependent   amplitudes   (or  strictly  speaking,
reflectivity)  has also been proven as a good approximation in the study of
deeper  crustal  features.  Theoretically,  the  technique has been used to
bridge  / relate rock characteristics in seismic (global / macro) scale and
those in local (micro) scale.

  Meanwhile,  the  quest to understand complex reservoir model, such as
cracked  or  fractured  reservoir,  has recently amplified; especially when
there  is  a  lack  of  conventional  seismic amplitude analysis to capture
fracture  /  crack  scale  dependent  anomaly.  Critical things ought to be
thoroughly observed in the fractured reservoir analysis include: pore-fluid
pressure  variations  and azimuthal seismic amplitude change. By which, the
relation  between  the two is still subject for further study. In practical
aspects,  when  doing the analysis one should focus on surface seismic data
processing  to  ensure  the  feasibility  and  reliability  of  the crack /
fracture.

Observing the above considerations, the objectives of this workshop are:

1.To discuss the integrated aspect of fractured reservoir from Geology,
Geophysical, and Engineering point of view.
2.To discuss necessary steps in seismic data processing / imaging for
advanced seismic identification technique on cracked / fractured reservoir.
3.To describe and integrate fracture set models to infer reservoir
physical characteristics embedded in the seismic wave.
4.To explore the integration of seismic - rock physical interpretation
on fractured reservoir with pore / fluid pressure; in this case, the
determination should use surface seismic data.

Who Should Attend

Geophysicist, geologist, petroleum/reservoir engineers from oil industries
or universities or managers who need a strong knowledge on seismic analysis
and modeling for fractured reservoir using seismic inversion and AVO
techniques.



About The Instructors

Dardji Noeradi, PhD
He is a senior lecturer on Petroleum Geology at ITB and Chief Geologist at
PGSC. Darji got his PhD in structural geology and basin modeling in 1994
from University of Savoy, France. He has done projects on stratigraphy,
structure, petroleum system, reserve calculation for numerous fields of
various oil companies in Indonesia during the last ten years. His fifteen
publications during the last ten years on stress analysis, stratigraphy,
rock deformation, and basin evolution are widely distributed in Indonesian,
Asia, as wells as in European, professional journals.

Fathkan, PhD
Fathkan got his PhD in 2004 from Geophysics Dept. of Curtin Univ. of
Technology, Australia with dissertation entitled: Azimuthal Amplitude
Analysis for anisotropic media. Among his publications  projects are since
year 2001 are: Effects of fracture parameters in azimuthal AVO analysis;
Analysis amplitudes for sand/shales for anisotropic media; Physical and
Numerical modeling for fractured media; Azimuthal AVO analysis for
fractured reservoir; Fluid substitution analysis for anisotropic media.

Makky S. Jaya, PhD
He is a lecturer on Exploration seismics, at Physics Department ITS. Makky
got his PhD in Applied Geophysics from Univ. of Karlsruhe, Germany in 1997
with dissertation entitled: Imaging Reflection Seismic Data using Velocity
Continuation Method. Among his postdoc research in German  France since
year 1999 are: Multidimensional Seismic Modeling and Imaging / Inversion
of reflective seismic data; Finite-Volume (FV) solver of conservative
equation in arbitrary (hybrid) meshes; Application in seismic wave
propagation, Aero  gas dynamic  computational electromagnetics.

Pudji Permadi, Prof, PhD
He is a senior lecturer on Advanced Reservoir Mechanics and Special
Exploitation Problems at ITB and Chief Reservoir Engineer at PGSC. Pudji
got his PhD in wettability and oil recovery in 1990 from New Mexico

 ABSTRACT

 NEW INSIGHTS OF TECTONICS OF THE INDONESIA REGION
  FROM SEISMIC TOMOGRAPHY
  : IMPLICATION FOR NEW BASIN DEVELOPMENT


The  tectonic  setting  of  the Indonesian archipelago is determined by the
complex  interaction of several major and minor plates. Given this tectonic
setting,  it  can  be  expected that the junction of island arcs overlies a
strongly  heterogeneous  mantle.  This structural complexity is only partly
evident  from  regional  seismicity.  Therefore,  seismic  tomography  -  a
powerful  tool  to produce three-dimensional images of the Earth's mantle -
would  be  useful  to  investigate the complex mantle structure beneath the
Indonesian region.

New  seismic  tomographic  models  for  the  Indonesian subduction zone was
derived  by  using a non-linear approach that employs three-dimensional ray
tracing.  High-quality  P  and  S  travel times have been used to construct
compressional,  shear, Vp/Vs (Poisson's ratio) and bulk-sound speed models.
These  models  confirm  previously  reported  structures  e.g. the reversed
U-shape structure associated with the two opposing subduction directions of
the  Molucca  Sea  plate,  and  the spoon-shaped feature of descending slab
beneath  Banda.  Moreover,  a  detailed look at these models has led to new
observations   e.g.  (i)  slab  detachment  beneath  Sumatra;  (ii)  a  low
compressional  anomaly confined in the uppermost mantle below central Java;
(iii)  a  complex  backarc  structure  of Bali; and (iv) a pronounced, fast
wavespeed  anomaly  in  the mantle transition zone below the Bird's Head of
Papua.  These  new  observations  respectively  suggest  that (i) new basin
development  may  propagate  from  west  to  east along the Sunda arc; (ii)
seismic  gap  oceanward of central Java - which may have been manifested by
the  thinning  of  the  Java island - is related to chemical heterogeneity;
(iii)  the  crust  located  to  the  north  of  Bali is being sucked by the
downgoing Indo-Australian plate forming a potential source for tsunamigenic
earthquakes;  and  (iv)  eastern  Indonesia  represents  the  most actively
subsiding area on the planet. Understanding the subsidence history would be
very important for basin analysis used in the oil industry.

Sri  Widiyantoro,  Ph.D.  in  Geophysics Seismology from Australia National
University  and  Postdoc in Seismic Tomography from Tokyo University. He is
now an Associate Professor of Geophysics in Bandung Institute of Technology
(ITB).

He  has been awarded The Doornbos Memorial Prize by the International Union
of  Geodesy and Geophysics Australia for his work on the delineation of the
3D structure of earth, in 1996
He  studied seismic tomography on regional and global scale since 1997, and
based on his studies, he has written many articles, papers, and journals on
national  and  international  publications.  He  is now an active member of
IASPEI and IUGG, as well as the chairman of the international working group
on subduction zones.

He  has  been  doing  many research projects in several institution such as
Massachusetts  Institute of Technology (1996 and 2001), Australian National
University  (1998),  Hiroshima Institute of Technology (2000) and Karlsruhe
University (2000 and 2002).

Iya bisa saja dipindahkan dari Yahoogroups.
Saya sudah menanggapi tawaran Paulus tadi, jadi kemungkinan besar nginduk
ke
server IAGI juga.
Menang Yahoogroups sudah di banned banyak company, Premier sendiri
baru-baru
ini sudah ikutan memasukkan Yahoogroups sebagai website 'terlarang' dan
segala sesuatu yang berasal dari Yahoogroups akan dimentalkan kembali ke
sana. CPI sejak bertahun-tahun lalu telah membanned Yahoogroups. Jadi

Kekuatan Gempa Bandung 4,2 SR, Beberapa Bangunan Retak

detikcom - Jakarta, Kekuatan gempa di wilayah Bandung berkekuatan 4,2
Skala Richter (SR). Gempa dirasakan paling kuat di Bandung Utara. Beberapa
bangunan di Lembang, Kabupaten Bandung retak.

Informasi ini disampaikan oleh petugas Pusat Gempa Nasional (PGN) Badan
Metorologi dan Geofisika (BMG) Nugroho saat dihubungi detikcom, Jumat
(11/7/2003) pukul 09.00 WIB.

Gempa terjadi pada pukul 07. 19.23 WIB dengan posisi 6.73 derajat LS dan
107.81 derajat BT. Kekuatan gempa 4,2 SR dengan kedalaman pusat gempa 10
km.

Menurut Nugroho, pusat gempa terjadi di darat kurang lebih 20 km arah
timur laut kota Bandung. Diperkirakan masih berada di wilayah Lembang.

Soalnya, kata Nugroho, di Lembang memang dikenal ada patahan Lembang aktif
yang terletak di sekitar kawasan Gunung Tangkuban Perahu. Dengan demikian,
gempa yang terjadi adalah gempa tektonik.

Gempa yang terjadi sekitar 7 detik ini dirasakan paling kuat di wilayah
Lembang dengan kekuatan III-IV MMI. Sedangkan di beberapa tempat di kota
Bandung gempa dirasakan I-II MMI. Tetapi, kata Nugroho, di Bandung Selatan
getaran gempa tidak dirasakan.

Berdasarkan data yang masuk ke PGN, akibat gempa ini beberapa bangunan di
Lembang mengalami retak-retak. Antara lain, terjadi di daerah Parongpong,
daerah Boscha, dan di kota Lembang. Namun, berapa jumlah bangunan yang
retak belum diketahui secara pasti.

  pekerjaan minyak di Riau atau daerah lainnya.
  Diperlukan teknologi super modern, ujar pengusaha
  yang tidak mau disebutkan namanya itu.
 
  Pengusaha ini pun memperkirakan, Bung Karno
  membangun
  Tugu Monas di kawasan itu bukan sembarangan. Sebagai
  seorang Insinyur, -- apalagi Bung Karno katanya
  memiliki indera keenam -- tentu ia bisa melihat dan
  mengetahui apa yang ada di dalam perut bumi itu.
 
  Untuk mengeksplotasinya, diperlukan teknonolgi
  super
  modern. Penambangannya, harus dilakukan di bawah
  tanah. Bayangkan, berdasarkan penelitian, sumber
  minyak bumi itu berada di bawah tiang pancang Tugu
  Monas. Mungkin 135 meter di bawah baru ditemukan
  sumber minyaknya. Jadi, penambangannya akan
  dilakukan
  dengan cara pengeboran dan kemudian dengan memasang
  pipa bawah tanah mencapai ratusan kilometer ke
  Balongan, Indramayu atau ke Cirebon, kata pengusaha
  yang sangat optimis minyak itu bisa digali.
 
  Upaya mengeksploitasi minyak di Monas itu, katanya,
  sedang dibicarakan dengan perusahaan minyak raksasa
  Amerika Serikat.
 
  Apa yang dikemukakan pengusaha itu, juga dibenarkan
  oleh sebuah sumber di Lembaga Penelitian Minyak dan
  Gas (Lemigas). Lembaga yang berada di bawah
  Departemen
  Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral itu telah melakukan
  penelitian. Hanya saja, lembaga ini diminta tutup
  mulut mengenai hasil penelitiannya.
 
  Ada seorang staf Lemigas yang ingin mencoba
  membeberkan hasil penelitian ini. Tetapi, ia
  langsung
  dipecat, kata sumber yang tak mau disebut namanya
  itu. Sumber di Lemigas ini juga mengakui, cadangan
  minyak di bawah Monas itu sangat besar.
 
  Sebenarnya, fakta-fakta adanya sumber minyak di
  kawasan Monas selama ini banyak. Misalnya, seringnya
  masyarakat di sekitar -- seperti di Setiabudi atau
  kawasan Tanah Abang yang kelelap ketika sedang
  menggali sumur. Dan setelah diteliti, sumur yang
  digali itu mengandung gas -- yang tidak lain juga
  sumber minyak.
 
  Atau barangkali, Api Nan Tak Kunjung Padam di
  Puncak
  Tugu Monas itu nantinya menjadi kenyataan, karena
  kalau minyak dieksploitasi, harus ada buangan api
  yang
  tidak padam, seperti di Balongan. (H. Mangarahon

just logic sederhana ajasapa tahu salah

kalau deep water source rock yang berpotensi jadi source rock adalah
binatang laut yang mati dan kemudian terawetkan dan melalui proses geologi
jadi hc .
pertanyaannya berapa banyak binatang laut yang dibutuhkan untuk cukup jadi
bahan - baku source rock, kalau memang butuh banyak maka ada kemungkinan
daerah yang dapat menjadi source rock adalah daerah di mana terdapat
banyak binatang laut (mis ikan ) mis daerah pertemuan arus yang
menyebabkan kondisi laut jadi hangat dan jadi banyak ikannya ( saya lupa
istilah geologinya...)atau malah mungkin daerah hotspot atau dekat gunung
api bawah laut ada kemungkinan akumulasi ikan yang cukup banyak.
nah pertanyaannya lagi ada enggak daerah seperti itu yang pernah dibor dan
menghasilkan hc.?

kalau deep water deposit tapi source rocknya dari darat mungkin ada
hubungannya dengan highstand dan low stand
seperti di mahakam sourcenya berasal dari hardwood untuk daerah delta
plain dan nipah - nipah untuk delta front dan prodeltalalu apa source
hc untuk yang deep water.? sama saja dengan delta plain dan delta
front karena pada saat lowstand dan terjadi regresi besar maka yang
tererosi tidak hanya sandnya tapi juga shale , organic shale dan source
rock yang sudah diendapkan lebih dulu sebelum terjadi regresi...lalu
berkumpulah semua itu jadi endapan turbidit laut dalam sudah lengkap
dengan bakal source rock dan reservoirnya.

nah pertanyaan untuk geophisictnya bisa enggak deteksi source rock dari
seismic.?

Balik ke diskusi ilmiah aah 

HC Source rock utk deepwater sedimen sangat jarang dijumpai, walopun
deepwater HC sudah banyak terbukti.
Ada yg tahu tentang deepwater hydrocarbon source rock ?
Apa saja kendalanya ? ... adakah relasi dengan hingstand-lowstand period
dengan source potential ? oil/gas-pronnes 
 ... bagaimana memprediksikannya .. logicnya saja lah ... trutama kalo

ndak ada data sumur, karena dimana-mana paling banyak data seismicnya
sajah. namun sebenernya kita bisa juga melihat dari analogi well data
dimana udah penetrated deep water deposit namun setting saat ini ada di
shallow water (land) misal di East Java Basin).
Dari geophysics (seismic) point of view apakah kemungkinan potensial
source softshale lebih bagus dari hardshale, atau sebaliknya ?

  The UK affiliating body to ISPRS has been asked to comment on the structure
and Terms of Reference of the ISPRS Technical Commissions.  Further details
are shown below.  I have agreed to collate the UK response and pull
together a consensus that can be submitted to the ISPRS Council.  I would
therefore be very grateful for comments and feedback, particularly from
those who have or have had some involvement with ISPRS affairs.  I would

The Terms of Reference (ToRs) of the Technical Commissions, described in
Bylaw XIII of the Statutes and Bylaws
(http://www.isprs.orghttp://www.isprs.org), are based on a structure that
was developed at the 1948 ISP Congress in The Hague.  This structure was
based on the then sequence of processes in photogrammetry, which can be
generally described as follows: Commission I - data acquisition, Commission
II - instrumentation, Commission III study of theory and algorithms,
Commissions IV, V  mapping and non-topographic applications respectively,
Commission VI - profession matters.   Commission VII -
photo-interpretation, also dealing with applications, was added in
1952.  Considerable modifications have been made to the terms of reference
of the Commissions since they were originally developed, but the structure
is still primarily the same.   The current Commissions are named as follows
(ToRs of the Commissions is available on www.isprs.org):
Commission I: Sensors, Platforms and Imagery
Commission II:Systems for Data Processing, Analysis and
RepresentationCommission III:  Theory and Algorithms
Commission IV:  Spatial Information Systems and Digital Mapping
Commission V:Close-Range Vision Techniques
Commission VI:   Education and Communications
Commission VII:  Resource and Environmental Monitoring

Clearly, the technologies in ISPRS have developed markedly since the
structure was developed more than 50 years ago.  While working within the
current structure, the distinctions between some of the processes are not
always clear.  Often the divisions between the Commissions appear to be
arbitrary.  Hence, problems arise in determining where a new technology
should be studied within the Commission structure.  ISPRS officers have
found many anomalies in the areas of activity of the Commissions.  Some
examples of these anomalies are:
* There appears to be an unwritten understanding (although it is not
written in Bylaw XIII) that Commissions I, II, III, IV and VII cover
topographic aspects of photogrammetry and remote sensing, while Commission
V covers non-topographic aspects.  This means that Commission III has
tended not to study  theory and algorithms of close-range sensing and
machine vision.  It is questionable whether such a division is  appropriate.
* Commission II now includes all aspects of mobile mapping, including
data acquisition, processing and applications.
* there are overlaps between areas of activity of Commission II and
several other Commissions
* studies of radar and LIDAR are covered in a number of  Commissions.
* the theory of image classification has normally been studied in
Commission VII in an applications context, whereas it should also be
studied in the context of image understanding of Commission III.This
has led to ISPRS being viewed as primarily covering applications, and not
the theory of information extraction and image understanding.
* the theory of GIS is now studied exclusively in Commission IV, not
Commission III.
* Commission IV is primarily associated with applications.  Hence
Commission IV is now the largest Commission in terms of WGs, and it may be
attempting to cover too many topics.  As well, ISAC has indicated  that
Commission IV does not cover some applications areas of GIS adequately.

* Are these anomalies in the structure of the Technical Commission
serious?  Would such anomalies always exist no matter what the
structure?  Can we devise a better structure?

* There have been a number of requests to review the structure of the
Commissions prior to the last Congress and subsequently.  As well, Council
is required to review the terms of reference of the Commissions as part of
the actions derived from the Strategic Plan, which were endorsed by the
General Assembly in ?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns =
urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags /Amsterdam in 2000.  There
are a number of possible sub-divisions of the scientific areas of
ISPRS.  Some individuals in ISPRS say that the current structure has served
its purpose well for 50 years and will continue to do so, others say that
it is out-of-date. It is interesting that the structure of the Commissions
changed a number of times between 1910 and 1948.   The Society needs a full
and open discussion
