Ca7 auto-ticketing with ServiceNow tool

2019-01-24 Thread Rajesh Janakiraman
Hello Everyone,

Could someone please help me with below request!!

Wanna know if there is anyone implemented auto-ticketing integration from
CA7 Scheduler to Service Now ticketing tool whenever there is a job failure
occurs?

And I also want to know whether we have any option to create a Service Now
Incident ticket via an email?

Thanks in advance!!

Customizing CA7

2015-08-12 Thread Rajesh Janakiraman
Hi Mainframe Professionals,

Good Day!

My question may be stupid, but I just wanna know this.

Is there any way to customize CA7 panels? i.e. can we change the options
for canceling or restarting or force completing the job to different panel
or different option?

Kindly let me know, whether it is possible to do or not

Thanks,
Rajesh

Re: Restoration of Multivolume GDG from Physical Dump Backup

2014-08-08 Thread Rajesh Janakiraman
 * You are trying to restore a dataset but you say it already exists. Are
you referring to the VPP1 dataset or the BACKAMSL dataset?
-- I'm referring to BACKAMSL dataset

You say the original consumed four volumes but you are trying to
restore it to one. Will it fit? Have you tried letting DSS decide where to
place the dataset?
-- I've used four different volumes to restore. i.e. each ODY has different
volumes while restoration

You say that three volumes were restored successfully but 3.4 shows 0%.
That appears to be allocation without any restoration. What makes you think
any data was restored?
-- For succeeded three volumes has some values, but last one has 0% used. I
just gave the info

Your description implies that you ran four jobs and three succeeded.
Since there is only one dataset, what were the other jobs?
-- i ran all 4 in same JCL, in which 3 volumes were restored and one showed
this issue. Later i tried with restoring the dataset which shows the issue
in single JCL even though it shows the same.

Are there any SMS conflicts between the original dataset attributes (when it
was backed up) and the default attributes for the BACKAMSL HLQ?
-- Nope there was no such conflicts.

The error message addresses deleting a dataset which should not currently
exist since you did not specify replace. Is this the first attempt to
restore the dataset? If not, you may be dealing with residue from previous
attempts.
-- My colleague tried restoring and even he faced the same issue.

Problem(Abstract)
Unable to load user security exit CUA Startup error: KLVIN406 Module
KLVINNAM R15(4)

Cause
Specifying an external security application that requires a user exit
(CA-ACF2, for instance) and not having that user-exit in the loadlib
allocated to the started task's RKANMODL will cause this error.

Resolving the problem
The security exit load module named in the message, for example, KLVA2NEV
or KLVTSNEV, needs to be assembled and linked.

Assemble and link the appropriate security exit using
hilvl.TKANSAM(KLV@ASM). Restart the task

Do you want to fix the problem or just clear the message from your
operator
console? David's response shows the former and K E,1 should handle the
latter.

Neil,

What does the StorGrp display look like in ISMF when you have the
non-existent volumes in the SG? Do they show up on the CDS-name display
but not on the ACTIVE display?

CDS Name 'ACTIVE' in ISMF panel DGTSCSG1 STORAGE GROUP APPLICATION
SELECTION? Otherwise, you get the information stored in the CDS not the
actual system state that you'd also get from DISPLAY SMS,VOLUME(FC1800).

ps. I discovered you can DISPLAY SMS,VOLUME() on a non-existent volume
that is defined to a StorGrp. For example, I routinely over-define more
volumes in a StorGrp than are initialized so I can increase the pool
without activating a new configuration ie. DB2000-DB2080 when only 30
volumes exist. When I INIT VOL(DB2031) STORAGEGROUP, it's automagically
in the pool with no further SMS work.

Please forgive the silly question, but are you certain that the volser
FC1800 is defined as being in one of your storage groups? I ask
because the initialization parameters look correct to me. And a volser
of FC1800 looks similar to what we use for our unassigned volumes.
Which we initialize as you do, but are not in a storage group. And so
they don't show up in the SMS information from ISMF or QuickRef.

And according to the message manual

 IEH622I
SERVO TRACKS MISSING AND THE DEVICE DOES NOT SUPPORT

 Explanation

IEHINITT cannot label the tape because the tape does not contain servo

 System action

 None.

 Operator response

Return the tape to the supplier so that the servo tracks can be

Re: to use wildcard characters in JCl

2014-07-26 Thread Rajesh Janakiraman
Hi Elardus,

There is a dataset which get updated every hour in our production system,
actually i need to ftp that particular dataset every one hour.

For now i'm submitting the job manually by changing the date and time for
every one hour.

I'm not clearly aware of wildcard datasets that can be given as a input DSN
in JCL.

Input dataset name is same, but I need to get output using wildcard in JCL
with different time on hourly basis.

for example, in ftp sysin *//PUT 'default_file_name' date_time.txt*

date_time.txt should be like 140727_0900.txt @ 09:00 AM

If possible kindly let me know wildcard details for REXX program, this may
be useful for me in future.

What wildcards? Please give examples. Lizette Koehler also asked for
 examples/samples.

I need to get an extract file for every one hour and I need to add the
job in OPCA, so that by using wildcard characters for every one hour the
 extract may get genrated automatically.

Just what wildcards for hourly works? Your request is too wide for us to
interpret. is it Dataset names, input in source DD? etc?

Please let me kow the detailed explanation i.e. wildcard characters that
is found in JCL to describe a dataset.

You cannot use wildcards in a JCL for dataset, only symbols which can be
substituted by SET statements or z/OS symbols.

Only possible wildcards for datasets are in RACF profiles or DFDSS
statements or such and then only in SYSIN or such DD statements.

You can always use Automation package or write out a
REXX/Assembler/COBOl/etc program to expand wildcards to fully expanded
 datasets.

If you browse or edit any dataset on dasd, and display the dasd, you
should see the A, meaning that the volume is allocated.

Until people log on and/or batch work starts, O (online) is pretty
 common.

DB2 use VSAM and you can use IDCAMS or ADRDSSU to backup/restore/move such

backup without closing the database, DB2 needs all datasets to be in sync,

However the same apply to VSAM applications - you cannot freely manage

others your application may not like it.

Restoration of IAM datasets

2014-05-26 Thread Rajesh Janakiraman
Dear Mates,

I'm facing an issue in restoring IAM datasets, it is a multivolume dataset and
we are taking logical backups.

In Dataset Report the datasets are shown as PS file, but when i tried to

file. It shows I/O error.

Mates,
Please help me to know that is there any procedure to restore IAM file?
Whether we need to restore it as VSAM restoration or any special procedure is
applicable.

Kindly do the needful for the same.

Thanks in advance,

Sorry mates,

The dataset is a logical one and i need to restore to the volume which we
created for all restore datasets (we have separate Storage Group for
restoration).
So kindly provide the procedure for this logical one.

IF you have the ability to rename the current production dataset, I

 1. rename current dataset to a temporary name (don't forget to rename the

 2. restore the backed up dataset - I don't think it would need to go the
same volume but may be wrong, yes you can restore a single dataset from a
 full volume backup.
 3. It's been a while since I've done this, but you may need to do an
IDCAMS DEFINE RECATALOG step here to get the dataset cataloged - I don't
remember what the requirements are for SMS managed datasets.
 4. Rename the just-restored dataset to something else.
 5. Rename you temporarily-renamed production dataset back to its original
 name.

I'm sure others will chime in here if I have something incorrect or am
missing steps. I'm giving this procedure based on fading brain cells...

If so, you can simply do a restore of the dataset using the RENUNC
parameter to rename it to the appropriate name to get restored onto your
restore volume. If it was a physical backup and you are not on z/OS 2.1 as
Peter pointed out, you cannot rename a VSAM dataset on a restore.
