Holding aggregate backup is exactly what the description of ARC6027I says
should happen.

Wouldn't it be better if you used the HSM CANCEL REQUEST(xx) command rather
than the MVS CANCEL jobname command?

DFHSM - ARC6030I - CAUSES ABARS TASKS TO BE HELD

Good Day Members,
 
I have noticed that when cancelling an ABARS task which is not active casued 
HSM to hold ALL ABARS backups.  Is this a bug with HSM or is HSM doing what it 
is supposed to do?  I would appreciate your thoughts.  Below is the output from 
the SYSLOG.
 
C ABAR0146,A=0120 
IEE341I ABAR0146  NOT ACTIVE IN SPECIFIED ADDRESS SPACE   
ARC6027I DFSMSHSM PRIMARY ADDRESS SPACE ISSUED 'C 441 
ARC6027I (CONT.) ABAR0146,A=0120' TO CANCEL A SECONDARY ADDRESS SPACE.
ARC6027I (CONT.) AGGREGATE BACKUP IS HELD
