But you can use BLOB datatype for storing files in database. [Ilugc] [OT] A future in quantum computing???
I have been wondering over a long course of time what I must specialize in during my MS (and possible PhD). I most certainly am not planning to work in a traditional IT company. I need a workplace that will be challenging and I most certainly dont mind a lil' risk. This news items provided one of those moments when I feel a tingling in me. *http://tinyurl.com/9m6n4w* I am an IT 3rd year student. I know that understanding of quantum physics might be essential for pursuing higher education in Quantum Computing. I am planning to work on algorithm development in QC. My groundwork told me that it was the closest edge to my current line. I have always been interested in algorithms and their analysis. So. Which are the universities that provide quality research in Quantum Sciences? What are the chances of getting into them. If they are not M.S. courses, what will be the qualifying P.G. degree for them? Also, I would like to understand the groundwork i have to do with respect to prepping for this choice of mine. Like what are the Physics books I have to dust out from the library? Is there a place that would provide project options for me to research on during my fourth year thereby being a little more than a student to gazed to the stars and said I could have been there I know this is way off topic. But this is the only place where there are diverse people together. Parthasarathy of ISI, Delhi who has been giving courses on Quantum Information Theory at various places. He would be able to tell you quite a bit about the mathematics of QC. 2. R. Simon and Sibasish Ghosh of IMSc, Chennai who recently ran a workshop on Entanglement followed by a two day conference on Quantum Matter and Quantum Information. 3. J. Radhakrishnan of TIFR, Mumbai who works on Algorithms and Randomness and is interested in QC as well. I have provided you with with one person to contact in each of the theoretical aspects Mathematics, Physics and CS in that order. I don't know who works on the experimental aspects. I do know that there used to be a simulator for a quantum computer that was available as a package in Debian. Perhaps you can try it out. [Ilugc] When Vellore woke up for Ubuntu!
Vellore IT Associated had organized a day of 'Ubuntu Dawn' for its members and general public on Dec 21, 2008 at Hotel Aavana Inn, Vellore. More than forty people from Vellore, Aarani and other places of Vellore district got benefitted as a result of this event. Different modes of Ubuntu installation, Package handling techniques, Tamil features in Ubuntu, Fonts installation, Installation of addicted Windows application using Wine were among various topics covered at the event. While the proprietary accounting application Tally got installed and ran successfully using Wine, it was suggested by Ubuntu Tamil Team that, as a first Step, the resellers and users of Tally Solutions, compel the Tally Corporation to provide them a debian installable also(1). We expressed hope that alternatives are being looked at by the Community and soon a Free Software replacement would emerge for Tally. A handbook on Ubuntu Basics was also provided(2). Siva and Sri Ramadoss from Ubuntu Tamil Team conducted the event. We thank Sairam, other office bearers and members of Vellore IT association for providing us with this oppurtunity. 2008/12/18 balachandar muruganantham mbchan...@gmail.com சொற் பட்டியலைத் தாண்டி, இன்னும் எந்த ஏற்பாடும் நடக்கவில்லை. தமிழ் விக்கிப்பீடியாவிலிருந்து சொற்பட்டியலை சேர்க்கும் முயற்சி நடைபெறுகிறது. இது சோதனை தருவாயில் உள்ளது. சந்திப்பிழைகள், இலக்கணப்பிழைகள் செய்ய அதிக நேரம் செலவாகும். அதனை செயல்படுத்த, நேரம் கிடைக்கும் பொழுது நான் தமிழ் இலக்கணம் பயின்று வருகிறேன்.சந்திப்பிழைகள், இலக்கண்ப்பிழைகள் கண்டுப்பிடிப்பது அவ்வளவு எளிதல்ல. அதற்கு நிறைய பங்களிப்பாளர்கள் தேவை. இலக்கணம் அறிந்த தமிழாசிரியரின் உதவியை நாடுவது நன்மை பயப்பதாய் அமையும். செல்வம் அத்தகைய முயற்சியில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளார். இவ்விடயத்தில் இணையத்தின் மூலம் பங்களிப்புகள் வரவேண்டும் என நாம் எதிர்பார்ப்பது ஏமாற்றத்தை அறிக்கலாம். கொஞ்சம் இறங்கி வந்து பணியாற்ற வேண்டும். கணினியே மாணவர்களைத் தாண்டி பொதுவான புழக்கத்திற்கு இன்னும் வரவில்லை. அதில் குனு லினக்ஸ் - அதில் தமிழ் பயன்பாடு என்பனவற்றையும் கருத்தில்கொள்ள வேண்டியுள்ளது. தாங்கள் ulagam.net தளத்தில் தமிழர்களை நம்பி இணையத்தில் ஏதாவது செய்ய முடியுமா எனக் ஆதங்கப்பட்டிருந்தீர்கள்(1). அதற்கும் இங்கிருப்போருக்கும் சற்றே அவ்வுணர்வு எழ வேண்டும் என்பதற்குமாகவும் பொதுவாக இப்பதிலை அளிக்கிறேன். நமது பணியின் தேவையிருப்போர் பல்லாயிரக்கணக்கானோர் இருக்கிறார்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள் என்பது உறுதி. அவர்கள் இணைய வசதி அற்றவர்களாக கணினி கூட இல்லாதாவர்களாகவே இன்னும் இருக்கிறார்கள். நாம் தற்போதைய சூழலில் களப்பணியாற்ற வேண்டியுள்ளது. நாம் நினைப்பது சாத்தியமாகும் நாள்தான் இங்கே தகவல் தொழில்நுட்ப புரட்சி ஏற்பட்டதாகச் சொல்லலாம். அதற்காகவே தமிழகத்தை மையமாக கொண்ட யாவர்க்குமான மென்பொருள் அறக்கட்டளை குறித்து யோசித்து வருகிறோம். சொல் திருத்தியின் கூகிள் குழுமத்தில் சேர ஆர்வமுள்ள அனைவரையும் அழைக்கிறேன். தொடுப்பு: http://groups.google.com/group/spellchecker இணைகிறேன். அங்கே, தமி்ழ் நன்றாக தெரிந்தவர்கள், மென்பொருள் பொறியாளர்கள் இருக்கின்றனர். நீங்கள் அங்கே சேர்ந்தால், என்ன செய்யலாம் என்று நாம் அனைவரும் ஒன்று கூடி முடிவெடுத்து வேலைகளை பிரித்து தொடங்கலாம். ஆனால், இன்றைய தினத்தில் தொழில்நுட்பம் அறிந்தோருக்கும் பேரிடராய் இருப்பதாக அவர்கள் சொல்லி நான் கேட்டது தமிழில் தட்டெழுதுவது. இருந்த போதும் அவர்களால் முடியும். மனம் வர கொஞ்சம் காலம் பிடிக்கும். காத்திருக்கலாம். மற்றோருக்கு தற்காலிகத்தடையாய் இருப்பது கணினியும் இணைய வசதியும் இல்லாதது. நாம் இணைய குழுக்கள் வழி பரிமாறிக் கொள்வதைத் தாண்டி மரபான நேரடித்தொடர்பு முறைகளில் பணியாற்ற வேண்டியிருக்கிறது. காலம் கனியும் என எதிர்பார்ப்போம். One Day One GNU/Linux Command = nohup -- Run a command even after HangUP(logout). Summary: `nohup' runs the given COMMAND with hangup signals ignored, so that the command can continue running in the background after you log out. `nohup' does not run the command in the background. We have do it by ending command line with an `'. Examples: Create a test script : $ cat myscript sleep 60 echo Bharathi date Press Ctrl+D to save and exit. $ chmod 555 myscript -- Add execute permission. $ nohup ./myscript -- Run the script in background. $ logout -- Logout the session. Again login after 2 mins. $ cat nohup.out -- All output of the program will redirected to this file. The system was using NIC instead of the modem to send packets. So I changed that and I was able to use everything fine.
