[Ilugc] Uninstalling XP from a dual boot system with ubuntu
Hi I have installed Ubuntu 7.04 and Windows XP in a P III ( 256mb RAM/40 GB HDD) dual booting with GRUB. Now I find XP takes longer to boot. But I have no issues with Ubuntu. Now I like to uninstall Windows XP and format that partition without disturbing Ubuntu instalation. How should I proceed to uninstall Windows XP? I should be able to boot into Ubuntu without doing a reinstall. Thanks. R.Dhanagopal -- "உடையார்முன் இல்லார்போல் ஏக்கற்றுங் கற்றார் கடையரே கல்லா தவர். At what time, you run this testing? 2. If possible, try at 1AM - 3AM. 3. Did they commit any min or avg data rate? AFAIK, 3.1MBps is the total capacity of the base station. If you are the only one subscriber in the base station, then you MAY get ~3MBps. But normally the base station bandwidth is shared by many subscribers. So getting 3MBps is only a dream. Re: [Ilugc] wireless datacard linux compatibility
>Of the current wireless datacard/usb devices supplied by the >any-time-anywhere-internet services available in Chennai which all, if any, >work in linux? Which one would you suggest? Yesterday Reliance Wireless Broadband+ marketing persons came to my office to demonstrate their wireless datacard where we have linux only machines and no windoze. I have inserted their Reliance Netconnect datacard in my Fedora-10 PC and just replaced their usename, password in my wvdial configuration and just connected in seconds and test the download speed and got average speed of 28kbps/35kpbs (tested about 10 minutes) and it was good for browsing and smaller downloads. Their wireless datacards support Highspeed Data transfer of about 3.1 MBps in 35 major cities and when I have tested 3 times, I have got only a max. of 35Kbps. Overall it is well supported by Linux (I have tested this in Fedora-10 and the wireless datacard is detected as /dev/ttyUSB0) and speed is also good for any mobile user. S. Baskar CEO/LinuXpert Systems Note: The price of Reliance NetConnect wireless Broadband datacard is Rs.3,500/- and citywide postpaid plan is Rs.1099/- per month (Data Transfer limit: 10GB/month) and nationwide postpaid plan is Rs.1,750/- per month. ___ To unsubscribe, email ilugc-requ...@ae.iitm.ac.in with "unsubscribe " in the subject or body of the message. http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
