[ilugd] Runing a script in xterm after GUI Logon

2005-08-14 Thread V shekhar
Hi,
I Have a requirement in which i need to run a perl script after root logs in
to Gnome UI,
The script has to be run from a shell as there are some messages which need to
be displayed in the process,
Also Root should not invoke the terminal. It should be automatic.

when you connect to apache using HTTPS, you are prompted for a security alert.
The alert is generated by the browser IFF...
1.) you do not trust the certificate issuer.
2.) the cert is expired.
3.) the cert subject DN does not match the name of URL.

BUT this is just a warning, you may accept the cert still. and start using the secured

And the fair maiden cried, Why, oh, why, AMS, did you have to go away

And the wise old man[3], smiled knowingly and pointed to his epitaph,

Here lies the man who could answer all your questions, but instead said:
 Have you asked Google yet?

[1] This is quite close to a limerick, in that it follows the aabba

 the term.

[2] This makes certain assumptions about AMS's, er, orientation, which
 might not be altogether correct.

[3] I had Raju in a flowing robe in mind. Specifically black, with a

The point, Shekhar, is that I butted in when you are asking for
opinions/experiences, but now you are simply asking for a fact. And,
that, you *can get from Google.*

I hope it will work as it will be dedicated for this.

My educated guess would be yes, it would work. But, then, remember that
I don't loose my job if it doesn't work. :)

If you are interested in a thorough test before going live, you could
perhaps set one up using a load tester like HTTPUnit or Apache JMeter to
 simulate multiple simultaneous client sessions.

Firstly: I was not flaming V.Shekhar.

Mr. V shekhar wrote that he would like to use a software something which
really worked for someone. Now, if you are using a mainstream proxy

virus scanner (like clamav) would be well documented.

If you are trying to do something bizzare (like make a cluster of
computers and then zip a 2 GB file on it), I can understand that there
would be not much documentation available on it. Hence if you post a
question on the mailing list asking about pointers (or even complete
solution) that would be quite understandable.

However, if you are trying to do something which is quite mainstream,
and you put a mail on the mailing list saying that PS: Kindly do not

shown that you have done some legwork.

Subject: [ilugd] Sendmail multiple recipients delivery failure

 Hi all,

Sendmail does not deliver the email to any of the local recipients
 if
any of the ID is non-deliverable.

But it does deliver to local recipient if other IDs are non-local

What is the fix to this bizarre behavior ??

We would like sendmail to deliver the email to deliverable local
recipients even if one Email ID typed is wrong. At the moment the
message just hangs in the outbox..

It seems that smbadduser is not part of the binary RPMs provided
 for
RHEL, though it is a part of source RPMS. A couple of solutions:

 - Grab the sources and build from them.
 - Grab just the smbadduser.in file from the source tarball and
 fix it
by hand - it's a very small script, and you only need to provide
 the
 right directories

Re: [ilugd] Need help for RHCE system crash part

2004-04-13 Thread V Shekhar
if any of you have appeared for RHCE recently, i would like to know
about the pattern?
i came to know from otherlists that they redhat cas changed the exam
pattern, and now there is no Multiple choice exam.

what are your inputs about Enterprise Linux? i mean do we have a choice
to appear for RH9 enterprise linux separately?

If they are still supporting RH9 certification how much more time we can
assure they are going to support it.?

 [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

I dont know about system crash(which is too general a term anyway),
 but
yes, they do give an unbootable system which you have to recover.
 Most
of the problems involve bootloader or incorrect fstab related
 problems.
As far as I know they give us a boot cd with a system whose hard
 disk data is erased

 Never heard of this.

I know tht I need to make a new kernel but how ???

How is that going to help?

Any help pointers will be appreciated.

Readup about fstab, mount, grub (and optionally lilo) properly. put
 in
incorrect setting in grub.conf, reboot and try to recover the
 original
 settings.

sendmail is unable to get the MX record of the domain, kindly
 see if

DNS is properly configured, and you can get the MX for the
 domain, by

issuing NSLOOKUP command on the mailserver.

 Manoj.

 I suggest u change

 DSmailrelayerverip.com

 to

 DSMail.Relay.IPV4.ADDRESS

 eg

 DS192.168.100.1

 and see if it works.

one point to note is, that ur ISP relay server shld allow u to relay

SMTP. (But it does not hv to do the problem u r facing now)

 Umm, not really.  Apache just needs to be able to read the scripts;
 executions rights are not required.
