If you are using kde just log off go to the CLI and run rm .kde -rf this
generally corrects such problems

What sort of a suggestion is this ? You suggest rm -rf'ing the .kde directory. What
about the user settings ??? Is this a solution ?

Gyach is a ymessenger client. Actually, Gyach-Enhanced is an offshoot of
the orignial Gyach project and it supports voice and video chat. Take a
look at http://phpaint.sourceforge.net/pyvoicechat/index_gyache.html
Unfortunately, it is a bit difficult to compile/install.

afaik, fedora's system configuration tools are GTK (Gnome) based
(atleast were in redhat 9.0), so removing .kde directory will not be a
good idea. unnecessarily the user settings will be deleted.

arundeep: can you try running the config tools from command line? open a
gnome-terminal (or konsole if yu use kde) and try starting the
application from there

e.g. in redhat 9
# redhat-config-users

or maybe just from your prompt start open office
e.g. in mandrake 9.2
$ oowriter

and see what error it throws. that can help in better understanding of
the problem.

it seems yu are running a gtk-free environment, eh? (i'm kde-free btw)
this is a bug as redhat should give some meaningful messages instead of
the one displayed above

http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=98516

in short, yu need to install pygtk2 and gnome-python2
