Marketed!!! what are we supposed to do ? put
advertisment in newspares and magazines with beautiful
models posing against a penguin!! :-)

Well whole list knows about #linux-india irc channel
where several guys hang out.

By Virtual meeting I really meant to say real interactive stuff like
VOIP and Vedio Conferencing and on line presentations (thru media
streaming server) where people can talk ( Jabber and IRC were at least
category or bare minimum ) ...maybe thru stuff like phone Gaim (sip +
gaim) or skype we can do it without putting any effort on server end .

I think something peer peer will great (without any need to maintain
any server)

   1. VOIP -Skype (VOIP + Chat...video is coming soon ) + jyve tags
  for presence
   2. Online Presentation - PeerCast (Online Presentations, video
  streaming, radio or regular bhasan)
   3. Prodcasting - Prodcast your blogs, minutes of meeting or stuff
like that audiocity to record Peercast to broadcast

though nothing can replace real word meeting but this can many good effects

   1. More meetings less resources
   2. More people from all over Internet can participate in an
  interactive way
   3. Our Lug super men can record prodcast, lectures and give
presentation more often to much more wider audience
   4. Help lug Delhi to get real cool and hip image over all other lugs ;-)
   5. I may even be able get my girl friend or my dad to try attending
  one these (virtual) meetings

 We have a virtual meeting
everyday there. So if you are lay enought to open any
irc software and join #linux-india channel then no one
can help.

Thats good sorry i didn't knew anything about this ... unfortunately
I am not able access IRc from my office as all ports except 80 are
blocked (is there anyway I can use port 80 for irc )...btw this is
generic india linux channel or lug delhi ?

I dont think there is a seperate need for any virtual
meeting seup. THere is an IRC channel who ever is
interested can join. And yes Entry Free!! Entry Free!!
Entry Free!!

he's talking about 14.4 kbps and yu're talking about 4 to 8 kBps. b=bit,
B=byte. So according to karunakar 14.4 is 1.8 kBps approx. your idea is
not bad but atleast in present conditions it may not work practically.
also, face to face interaction specially for a new linux user is much more
comfortable than voice based meetings.

Nah, simpler to have a real meeting. Just make sure your A/C is on
and invite everyone else to your home -- let THEM face the heat :)

Of course, you may need to offer incentives like grub (or is it
lilo?), coke, beer and good music.
