Hi Karl. Thanks for the welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed my book. Although it is quite dated now 12 years after I wrote it, I had a great deal of fun publishing it. I still have many requests for it. But it is long ago sold out. I only printed 500 copies. Best wishes for the holidays. 73 de Pat From: karl...@hotmail.com To: irca@hard-core-dx.com Date: Sun, 13 Dec 2009 12:55:58 -0500 Subject: Re: [IRCA] Personal Introduction - Hello Hey Patrick: Welcome back to the club! [IRCA] Tonight's TAs
Jim Renfrew, Holley NY Not much other than the big guns at 1700 EST. Recheck at 2300 EST - best signal is 549 Algeria, plus some audio from many of the regulars. LW is a wash-out, too much noise in the house. ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
Re: [IRCA] TA's for 12/14/09 Victoria
0316 R. Maria-675, poor in splatter, but w/laid back vocal mx, then woman talking, followed 30 seconds later on webstream. Interesting Nick. Up here TA's were in from around 14:30 local, possibly even earlier if I had checked sooner, and all were above 999khz. This has to be the earliest I have heard TA's from here, even in the past when 1314-Norway was a regular, I never had it in any earlier than around 15:30. Some were at good levels too, like 999-Moldavia and 1089-Russia. 1575-UAE was at a good level as well, unlike yesterday. Also, unlike yesterday I managed one new one, which also was my second TA logged on a domestic frequency, 1170-Russia, parallel to both 999 and 1089. I also had someone on 1395 with what sounded like Russian, so possibly Albania. Interestingly, there was someone under the 999 Russian which sounded Arabic, so possibly Morocco. The Saudi on 1521 was also heard at a fair level. As the sun gradually sank in to the south western horizon and domestics faded up, the TAs faded down to become nothing but carriers around sunset. There's a Koronic Saudi on 999 that may have been the source of your AA...I had Koranic AA thru Spain in WI last year. 73 KAZ - Original Message - From: Mike Stonebridge stonb...@abnorth.com To: Mailing list for the International Radio Club of America irca@hard-core-dx.com Sent: Sunday, December 13, 2009 10:21 PM Subject: Re: [IRCA] TA's for 12/14/09 Victoria 0316 R. This evening's TAs were mostly frustrating. The big guns weren't that big, but odd brief audio would turn up on channels like 531 594 675 702 747 873 etc (mostly low band). But this is way better than the norm a couple of years ago. best wishes, Nick * Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, BC Canada ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
