You might say we are on vacation — a Wall of noise on my balcony - but I may
pop down to our “special place” at the dug out at the Royal Kona...

Had several drinks at Don the Beachcomber at the Royal Kona so that should
lubricate the DX.

Noted.

When I was in Hilo last, there was Spanish all across the dial - I always
thought: how hard would it be to hear South America in Hawaii?

I think because we hear so little SA DX in WCNA, we don’t know what to listen
for.

2018-01-09 Thread Gary DeBock
Don and Nigel,

There is a moderate carrier on 846 here at 0620 UTC-- presumably from Kiribati,
but with no audio (which isn't unusual, here in this DU-dead zone).

For some reason the Victoria DXers all seem to be on overseas trips at the same
time, so I thought you might like a west coast report (even if it's from this
mediocre location).

[IRCA] New verie

2018-01-09 Thread Martin Foltz
Returned from a trip to Arizona and found a new verie in the mailbox.

1550 KKOV Vancouver WA, prepared card and "sorry for the long delay..." note on
notepad sheet with station logos on top. This was for a report sent to the
Chief Engineer in October 2012! It was a second follow up report. Signer is
illegible but most likely the CE. Guess he was cleaning off his desk to start
the new year. Happy to get this.
