Re: [IRCA] 1098 Marshalls MP3 w/ Eton E100 slider

2008-12-23 Thread cafe

Well done! I heard them around the same level from Rose Spit, QCI on Sept
6th. Too bad they hardly ever ID! ..Walt.

They are REALLY slamming in now -- really BASSY audio --
and yea... tedious long songs that seem to never end
followed by 1 minute of talk and another 10 minute song...

also in - Tentative TRUK on 1593
Korea on 1566 already ( 0805 UTC)
japan on 1287 and 1278...

interesting that upper band asians are in first --

1017 Tonga and Tahiti 738 also in...
540 Fiji, 639 Fiji..

hearing very little obvious state-side stuff...
except for Vancouver B.C. on 730khz! Traffic and weather together...

getting back at 'er

Great loggings. I'm surprised by the lack of NAm stations, though. Every time
I've dx'd from Hawaii (numerous locations), I've always received the west coast
well, and yes, 730 was always well heard. Try for 1130 Vancouver...it also
blasts in. Re 1593that would be a good catch! My thinking, though, is
that it's more likely NHK2, but keep listening to be sure! ..Walt.

2008-12-23 Thread D1028Gary
Walt and Colin,

Great DX in Hawaii so far, Colin! Radio Marshalls-1098 was also
booming in for me on a Slider E100 at Grayland on November 2nd, with bassy
audio
and long choral songs. An MP3 of the reception was uploaded to the
ultralightdx Yahoo group site. It's amazing how this station only shows up
with audio
on the coast, and nor further inland (at least for me).
