Hi Kaz,

Correct on the QTH and antenna. I do have a possible spot for another 
DKAZ to the west, but the feedline would probably be around 200 feet or 
maybe a little more. It would also be right in a tree line, so I'd 
probably suspend the tops from trees instead of using poles. Hmmm. I'll 
have to go take a closer look.


Speaking of feedlines, how do you all run your feedlines from the 
antenna to the house / shack? I'm assuming most of you either bury the 
cable (either in conduit or with direct-bury cable) or you run it back 
through trees off of the ground. Does anyone just leave the feedline lie 
on top of the ground, and then you move it every time you mow? Or maybe 
you don't mow and just let goats eat the grass. I've considered that. 
Except they'd probably eat the coax too.

Congrats big time on the new province logged! I sort of take hearing Vancouver 
stations for granted here in SoCal, but all the way to Ontario is cause for 
celebration. CHMJ was CKLG for so many years. 'Miss their top 40 sound. I've 
never actually bagged CHQR at this location, 'should try harder. KHAC 880 put 
on a great DX test a couple decades back that really got out well. 'Maybe we 
can convince them to do that again. 73

Great conditions to the West have returned with this report. The morning of 
Oct/9th produced some nice Late Sunrise conditions to the Vancouver area that 
netted me 3 Vancouver stations and NEW Province # 9.  A New Calgary station was 
also logged during this time frame. Another welcomed addition a few days 
earlier was New Mexico on 880 kHz. Overall the conditions to the West have been 
very good this DX Season! Took me 40 + years to finally hear British Columbia!

I heard KNX (presumed) on 1070 on my car radio this morning while 
driving to work. It wasn't for long, but long enough to hear a time 
check between news items: "It's now 4:41..." (my local time was 7:41, 
just a few minutes before sunrise). I take that to be another indication 
of good conditions to the West. Not sure I have any antennas at home

yes John….I was quite surprised. Saul Chernos had heard 890 CJDC from Dawson 
Creek the same morning…that's why I went looking!!

I just logged another Vancouver station this morning at 0730 EDT……690 CBU 
Vancouver, BC 50 kW with CBC Radio One.

40 years to finally hear BC and now that's 4 Vancouvers in 2 days!! 0730 EDT 
seems to be the sweet spot right now.

Very nice on the BC catches, Rob. I have never heard that province from 
Ontario either (although I have heard them from further east in 
Newfoundland, but those receptons wer obviously enhanced by a superior 
receiving set up.

Hi Guys:

   Great conditions to the West have returned with this report. The 
morning of Oct/9th produced some nice Late Sunrise conditions to the 
Vancouver area that netted me 3 Vancouver stations and NEW Province # 9. 
A New Calgary station was also logged during this time frame. Another 
welcomed addition a few days earlier was New Mexico on 880 kHz. Overall 
the conditions to the West have been very good this DX Season! Took me 40 
+ years to finally hear British Columbia!
