"It's regrettable that we don't respect our specificity," he was quoted as saying in Assabah newspaper yesterday. He said the head scarf is "foreign" and "an intrusion," and recommended a traditional Tunisian Islamic tunic known as the jebbah. Under a 1981 government order, Muslim head scarves are banned in
Tunisian government offices and public schools, though the rule is not always applied rigorously. Some non-governmental groups have criticized the rule as a violation of Tunisians' civil rights. Akhzouri denied that increasingly more Muslim women are turning to the head scarf. "On the contrary, the phenomenon is in decline ... progressively fading away," he said. Tunisia, a nation of 10 million people wedged between Libya and Algeria, is considered a stalwart ally of the West and has been cracking down on Islamic militants for years. It also actively promotes gender equality. Tunisian women enjoy rights denied in many other Arab countries, and nearly 54 percent of its university students are female. Muslims across the world were enraged when France decided last year to ban head scarves from public schools. The head scarf is also banned from universities and state offices in overwhelmingly Muslim Turkey, which Islamic leaders have vowed to
overturn.Comment: Its quite funny how the Religious Affairs Minister considers the Hijab as something which does not fit with Tunisias cultural heritage.Maybe he wants to take Muslims back to the era before Islam when they lived in jahaliyah (ignorence). It seems strange that when Muslim women choose to wear western clothes which reveal their hair, neck, arms and legs as well as other parts of their bodies it is considered to be ok to attend colleges and unis and work in Govt institutions but when Muslim women choose to practice their own preference for dressing and base it upon Islamic texts they are told that you can dress in any manner that you like as long as it is not based upon Islam. The global Islamic revival is in full swing and Muslims in the east and the west are returning back to the system of their creator Allah swt but of course the enemies of Islam will not be pleased and will continue arguing against the truth
until Islam is re-established in state and society.

Hazrat Sheikh-ul Hadeeth Maulana Muhammad Zakaria
(R.A.) writes in
Khasa'ile Nabawi -- in explanation of SHAMA'ILE
TIRMIDHI: -

Imaam Tirmidhi has quoted in this chapter those
ahaadith that have
been narrated on the noble features of Sayyidina
Rasulullah
(Sallallahu alaihe wasallam). It is impossible to
accurately
describe actual beauty and elegance of Sayyidina
Rasulullah
(Sallallahu alaihe wasallam).

To draw a pen-picture of his appearance is beyond
one's capability,
but the Sahabah (Radiallahu anhum) have endeavoured,
according to
their capabilities, to preserve what little they
could, of which
some is written here. Qurtubi says: The full beauty
and elegance of
Sayyidina Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam) has
not been made
manifest, otherwise it would not have been possible
for man to look
at him. The Sahabah (Radiallahu anhum), have done the
ummah an
immense favour by conveying to them the perfect
intrinsic knowledge,
as well as the perfect conspicuous elegance and beauty
of Sayyidina
Rasullullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam). When an
unfulfilled lover
is deprived of meeting the beloved then he stands in
front of the
beloved's house remembering the features of his
beloved, in an
attempt to gain some solace. It is from habits and
features that the
heart is appeased.

Imaam Tirmidhi has collected from these about 400
Ahaadith and
divided them into fifty-five chapters. In the first
chapter fourteen
Ahaadith are quoted.

(1) HADEETH NO. 1.

Anas (Radiallahu Anhu) reports: Rasulullah
(Sallallahu alaihe
wasallam) was neither tall nor was he short (like a
dwarf--He was of
medium stature). In complexion, he was he was neither
very white
like lime, nor very dark, nor brown which results in
darkness (he
was illuminant, more luminous than even the full-moon
on the 14th
night).
The hair of Rasullullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam)
was neither
very straight nor very curly (but slightly wavy). When
he attained
the age of forty, Allah the Almighty granted him
nubuwwah
(prophethood). He lived for ten years in Makkah
(commentary) and in
Madina for ten years. At that time there were not more
than twenty
white hair on his mubarak (blessed) head and beard.
(This will be
described in detail in the chapter on white hair of
Rasulullah
(Sallallahu alaihe wasallam).

COMMENTARY.

Sayyidina Rasullullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam) was
of a medium
stature, but slightly taller. This has been reported
in a narration
from Sayyidina Hind bin Abi Haalah (Radiallahu Anhu)
and others. An
objection may arise concerning these two hadeeth, that
it is stated
in one hadeeth that when Sayyidina Rasullullah
(Sallallahu alaihe
wasallam) used to stand up in a group, he appeared to
be the tallest
among them. This was not due to his hight, but was a
result of a
Mu'jizah (Miracle). In the manner that no one had
reached a higher
status than Sayyidina Rasullullah (Sallallahu alaihe
wasallam) in
`Kamalaate Ma'nawiyyah', (super intellectual status)
likewise in the
`Surah Zaahiri' (outward appearance) no one could
excel him.

It is stated in the hadeeth under discussion that
Sayyidina
Rasullullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam) lived for ten
years in
Makkah Mukarramah after nubuwwah (prophethood). For
this reason it
is stated that he attained the age of sixty years.
This is contrary
to what has been reported in the other ahaadith, where
it is stated
that Sayyidina Rasullullah (Sallallahu alaihe
wasallam) lived there
for thirteen years and attained the age of sixty-three
years. In
some ahaadith it is stated that Sayyidina Rasullullah
(Sallallahu
alaihe wasallam) attained the age of sixty-five years.
At the end of
this kitaab all three ahaadith will be quoted. Imaam
Bukhari (R.A.)
says:

Most narrations show that Rasullullah (Sallallahu
alaihe wasallam)
lived for sixty three years. The ulama (scholars)
have summed up
these ahaadith in two ways. First, that Sayyidina
Rasullullah
(Sallallahu alaihe wasallam) received nubuwwah
(prophethood) at the
age of forty and risaalah three years thereafter, and
after that he
lived for ten years in Makkah Mukaraamah. According to
this, the
three years between nubuwwah and risaalah have been in
the hadeeth
under discussion.

(2) HADEETH NO. 2.

Anas bin Malik (Radiallhu Anhu) reports, Rasullullah
(Sallallahu
alaihe wasallam) was of a medium stature, he was
neither very tall
nor very short. He was very handsome, of medium built
and his hair
was neither very curly nor very straight (but was
slightly wavy). He
had a wheat-coloured complexion. When he walked, he
leaned forward
slightly.

COMMENTARY.

In this hadeeth Sayyidina Anas (Radiallhu Anhu) states
that the
complexion of Rasullullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam)
was wheat
coloured. In the previous hadith, also narrated by
Sayyidina Anas
(Radiallahu Anhu), he states that Sayyidina
Rasullullah (Sallallahu
alaihe wasallam) did not have a wheat-coloured
complexion. This has
been mentioned in the translation of the hadeeth.

The basic meaning of the word kufr in Arabic is concealment. Shirk means devoting worship to anyone or anything other than Allaah. Kufr may take the form of denying and rejecting, but the mushrik may also believe in Allaah. This is the difference between the mushrik and the kaafir. Each word may also carry the meaning of the other, so the word kufr may be used in the sense of shirk, and the word shirk may be used in the sense of kufr. Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: Kufr and shirk may carry the same meaning, which is disbelief in Allaah, may He be exalted, or they may be used separately, whereby shirk refers to the worship of idols and other created beings, whilst also acknowledging Allaah, as the kuffaar of Quraysh did, and kufr may have a more general meaning than shirk. End quote. Sharh Saheeh Muslim. 2/71 Shaykh Abd al-Azeez ibn Baaz (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: Kufr is denial and concealment of the truth, such as one who denies that prayer is obligatory, or that zakaah is obligatory, or that fasting Ramadaan is obligatory, or that doing Hajj when one is able to is obligatory, or that honouring one's parents is obligatory, and so on, or one who denies that zina is haraam, or that drinking intoxicants is haraam, or that disobeying ones parents is haraam, and so on. Shirk is devoting acts of worship to something or someone other than Allaah, such as one who seeks the help of the dead, those who are absent, the jinn, idols, the stars, and so on, or who offers sacrifices to them, or makes vows to them. A kaafir may be called a mushrik and a mushrik may be called a kaafir, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): And
whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allaah, any other ilaah (god), of whom he has no proof; then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely, AlKaafiroon (the disbelievers in Allaah and in the Oneness of Allaah, polytheists, pagans, idolaters) will not be successful[al-Muminoon 23:117] Verily, whosoever sets up partners (in worship) with Allaah, then Allaah has forbidden Paradise to him, and the Fire will be his abode [al-Maa'idah 5:72] And Allaah says in Soorat Faatir (interpretation of the meaning): Such is Allaah, your Lord; His is the kingdom. And those, whom you invoke or call upon instead of Him, own not even a Qitmeer (the thin membrane over the date stone). 14.If you invoke (or call upon) them, they hear not your call; and if (in case) they were to hear, they could not grant it (your request) to you. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will disown your worshipping them. And none can inform you (O Muhammad) like Him Who is the AllKnower (of everything)[Faatir 35:13-14] Their calling on anything other than Allaah is called shirk in this soorah, but in Soorat al-Muminoon it is called
kufr. Allaah says in Soorat al-Tawbah (interpretation of the meaning): They (the disbelievers, the Jews and the Christians) want to extinguish Allaahs Light (with which Muhammad has been sent Islamic Monotheism) with their mouths, but Allaah will not allow except that His Light should be perfected even though the Kaafiroon (disbelievers) hate (it). 33.It is He Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam), to make it superior over all religions even though the Mushrikoon (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allaah) hate
(it) [al-Tawbah 9:32-33] Here Allaah calls the kuffaar kuffaar, and He calls them mushrikeen. This indicates that a kaafir may be called a mushrik and a mushrik may be called a kaafir. There are many similar verses and ahaadeeth. Another example is the hadeeth in which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Between a man and shirk and kufr there stands his giving up prayer. Narrated by Muslim in his Saheeh from Jaabir ibn Abd-Allaah (may Allaah be pleased with him). And the Prophet (peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: The covenant that differentiates us from them is prayer; whoever gives it up is a kaafir. Narrated by Imam Ahmad, Abu Dawood, al-Tirmidhi, al-Nasaai and Ibn Maajah with a saheeh isnaad from Buraydah ibn al-Husayb (may Allaah be pleased with him). And Allaah is the Source of strength. December 25, 2005 Remembering the CrusadesBy Iftikhar Ahmed THE crusades, also called the holy wars, undertaken by
the European Christians to recover from the Muslims the holy land Jerusalem a city considered sacred equally by the Muslims, Jews and Christians, hold a very important place in the history of the world. The crusaders perpetuated an unprecedented carnage of Muslims that was totally in contrast to the tolerance and kindness that the Muslims showed to the Christians.Comprising eight battles fought over a period of two centuries (1095 to 1270), a few of the crusades hold greater significance as they affected the course of history and thinking of the Western world.Jerusalem, conquered during the reign of Caliph Umer bin Khattab in 638, came under the Muslim rule which allowed the followers of all religions to visit the sacred city or stay there if they wished. They were guaranteed full freedom of worship and protection of life and property. This practice continued for more than four centuries. However, later, the visiting Christians at the Holy Mosque Baitul Muqaddes
indulged in indecent practices such as singing and dancing. The Muslim rulers, called Seljuk Turks, who, at that time, ruled Syria, Palestine and Iraq, asked them to observe decency and respect for the sacred city. As the Christians had never accepted the presence of the Muslims in the sacred city, they continued provoking the authorities. This compelled the Muslims to take some disciplinary actions against them.A Christian monk, Peter, exploited the disciplinary action against the Christians by fabricating false stories of repressions and tortures. He toured Britain, Germany, Italy, Greece and all other Christian states of Europe to gather support for launching a holy war against the Muslims. Finally, he convinced the Pope to act on this mission. The Pope held a conference in France in 1095 and urged the Christians to rise and liberate Jerusalem from the Muslims. He
gathered more than one million people to participate in the crusade. This multitude of crusaders set out toward Jerusalem, ravaging and plundering other cities on their way.The first crusade took place in June 1099, during the reign of Abbassid Caliph Mustazher Billah (487-512 Hijra,) when the Muslims unity had shattered into different factions. The crusaders surrounded the city of Jerusalem. The Muslims, already weakened by internal strives, could not put up a strong defence and gave up after a siege of 42 days.The crusaders started a barbaric carnage of the Muslims. In the words of an eye witness monk who accompanied the crusaders, the streets of Jerusalem were ankle deep in blood, and the dead bodies of Muslims were littered all over the city. They took whatever treasure they could find from the Dome of Rock and the city. A French historian Michaud also writes that history finds no example of the barbarity committed by the crusaders. They would drop the Muslims
from the roofs of houses and burn them alive. The Christians treated them in a manner that was totally the opposite of how the Muslims had done after the victory of Jerusalem during the rule of Caliph Umer bin Khattab.Ten thousands Muslims were butchered in Al-Aqsa mosque alone, including several Muslim scholars who had migrated from different parts of the world and had dedicated themselves to the worship of Allah. The mosque was full of blood and human limbs. The carnage continued for eight days, with over 60,000 Muslims killed.After conquering the city, the crusaders broke the news to the Pope in the following words: We have conquered the city and how we treated its denizens you can imagine from the fact that when we entered the worship place of Solomon, our feet were dipped to the ankle in the blood of the Muslims.The capture of Jerusalem distraught the entire Muslim world but the Caliph was too weak to do anything. He could not even send any help to
save the Muslims there. Soon the crusaders, who had the support of entire Europe, captured other places as well as Palestine, Syria and neighbouring cities. Along with merciless killings, they destroyed, in Tripolis (Syria), the invaluable treasure of art and the world famous library containing more than three million books.After the first crusade, many attempts were made to unite the Muslims in order to confront the crusaders, but to no avail. Finally, Nuruddin Zangi, the son of Imaduddin Zangi the ruler of Mosul who controlled several territories in Iraq and Syria, tried to liberate Syria and other cities from the Christians. He succeeded in liberating some cities surrounding Damascus, and continued fighting till he regained Syria in 1164. However, until his death in 1173,
he could not gather enough force to liberate Jerusalem. Things changed when Sultan Salahauddin Ayubi took over the reign of Egypt.Sultan Salahuddin, remembered as a legend even in the West, was born in 1137 in a Kurdish family. His father,

But this year, both women ran strong Green Party grassroots
campaigns against the incumbent mayors of Minneapolis and St. Paul, and both voiced the same reason for running: they felt they had no choice. When Hakeem announced her candidacy for mayor of Minneapolis, she became the first Muslim-American woman to run in Minnesota and, at 29, one of the youngest candidates ever. After seven months working with a fraction of her opponents budgets, Hakeem won 14 percent of the vote in the September primary. She was particularly encouraged by the support she found in south Minneapolis. Supporters will see her pounding the pavement again: shes planning to run in the 2006 elections, though she hasnt yet decided for which office.Elizabeth Dickinsons campaign in St. Paul speaks volumes for the success a low-budget grassroots campaign can have. Dickinsons budget was a fraction of Mayor Randy Kellys budget, yet she garnered nearly 20 percent of the primary vote. After the primary, Dickinson co-founded Sustainable St. Paul, a
grassroots group of Greens, Democrats and Independents who will focus on keeping in the public eye issues such as a St. Paul renewable energy standard, instant runoff voting and limitations on the size of big box stores.Through the campaign Dickinson said she gained insight into what it will take to truly make politics open to all. To really level the playing field, she said, each candidate should receive a modest amount of money and be prohibited from raising money on her own. Youd see democracy transformed and I think women in general would be creative with small budgets, she said. If a candidate knows how to stretch her money during a campaign that should tell voters a lot about how they will deal with the reality of city budgets. If you really want to see new faces in government, she added, you have to change the system. Dickinson had had no plans to run for mayor, but many people asked her to consider it. It was a great risk to nominate me. The Democrats wouldnt do it. [The government] is bombing people who look like me. And the Republicans want to deport me, she joked. On the other hand, Hakeem said, the Green Party and others arent great at making people of color feel welcome in politics. Both Hakeem and Dickinson look forward to the day when a candidate receives attention not because shes a woman, or a person of color, or from a third party, but because shes
running a strong campaign full of powerful ideas. I would never trade it for the world, Hakeem said of the experience. I was the litmus test. Nobody knew what to expect, neither did I. Now that she knows what kind of support is out there, she can tell others that theres nothing to fear. I can go back to my community and say Why arent you running?

force and a major actor in global politics. Christian Zionism comes in
various shades, but the core of its message is total, unflinching support to
the state of Israel and the Zionist imperialist project. Christian Zionists
today exercise an enormous clout in the Bush administration. Bush, too, may
himself be characterised in some sense as a Christian Zionist, for his
policies in the Middle East and elsewhere clearly reflect or tally with the
Christian Zionist agenda.
  
  
War, conquest and imperialist domination, based on a fanatic insistence on

  
  the absolute truth of Christianity and the racial superiority of the Jews
lie at the very heart of Christian Zionism. Christian Zionists believe that
the Jews are God's 'Chosen People' and that God has given the Jews the
absolute right to complete control over not just Palestine but, indeed, a
vast stretch of territory, extending from present-day Egypt to Iraq, the
so-called 'Greater Israel'. God, they claim, has selected the Jews above all
other people. Hence, they insist, those who oppose the imperialist project
of the advocates of 'Greater Israel' or the Zionist occupation of Palestine
are 'God's enemies', deserving to be crushed by every available means,
including outright war and decimation.
  
  
Advocating Israel does not mean, however, that Christian Zionists accept

  
  Judaism as a legitimate means of salvation after Jesus. Nor does it
translate into genuine love for the Jews, a departure from the traditional
teachings of the Church that, for centuries, viewed Jews as
'Christ-killers'. Since Christian Zionists believe that Christianity is the
only religion acceptable to God, and that, as the Bible claims, salvation is
possible only through Jesus, they insist that Jews cannot be 'saved' unless
they convert to Christianity. Yet, because Christian Zionists are dogged
defenders of the state of Israel and are fiercely anti-Arab and anti-Muslim,
they have been able to establish a close nexus with right-wing Jewish groups
and with the Israeli state and are today an integral part of the
American-Israeli axis.
  
  
Christian Zionism is a call for global war. The belief that Christianity

  
  is the sole truth, that all other faiths are 'Satanic' or 'false', that the
Jews must all gather in Palestine to fulfil so-called Biblical prophecies,
and that a grand global war will soon erupt leading to the massacre of
hundreds of millions and heralding the 'second coming' of Jesus, who will
establish his Christian kingdom extending till the four corners of the
world, clearly indicate the hate-driven, global expansionist project of
Christian Zionism.
  
  
John Hagee is a prime example of a Christian Zionist zealot. He is the

  
  founder and pastor of the Cornerstone Church, in Texas, USA, which claims
some 16,000 members. As with numerous other similar American Christian
fundamentalist preachers, his church is richly endowed and media savvy.
Hagee is the president of the 'Global Evangelism' media company that
broadcasts his daily programmes on television and radio throughout the USA
and around the world. He is the author of numerous books on Christian
Zionism, some of which have been reprinted by Christian fundamentalist
publishers abroad as well.
  
  
'Final Dawn Over Jerusalem' is one of Hagee's major writings on Christian

  
  Zionism that well exemplifies the imperialist agenda that lies at its very
core. The aim of the book is to defend the Israeli occupation of Palestine,
to denounce those who seek to protest Israeli atrocities, and to advocate
the cause of 'Greater Israel', all this in the name of Christianity and
premised on the notion of the Jews as being allegedly God's 'Chosen People'.
  
  
Racism is integral to the Christian Zionist message, as Hagee makes amply

  
  clear. The Bible, Hagee, says, describes the Jews as 'the apple of God's
eye' [Zech 2:8]. He quotes the Bible as addressing the Jews and declaring,
'For you are a holy people to the LORD your God' and 'the LORD has chosen
you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples who
are on the face of the earth' [Deut.14:2]. This means, so Hagee argues, that
those who harm the Jews or the state of Israel or stand in the way of the

Nafari's book - Mawaqef wa Mukhatabat- Considerations and dialogs
is a unique contribution in the history of Tawheed- The origins of the
book and its author remain somewhat mysterious.
It was probably written in the first half of the 4th Hijra century in Syria-
The author is most likely Muhammad ibn Abd- Allah Nafari, although the
book has been attributed traditionally to his grandson Abd al-Jabbar-
Multiple interpretations and elucidations of this book have been
written over the centuries, Ibn Arabi himself referred to the book 6
times in his Meccan Revelations. The 20th century has witnessed a
renewed interest in the book on the part of Arab literary figures like

Given below is the translation of the text of the Resolutions and Recommendations of the First Conference of Motamar al-Munazzamat al-Islami held under the auspices of the Muslim World League, Mecca al-Mukarramah on 18 Rabi al-Awwal 1394 A.H. 10 April, 1974 C.E. Secularism.The term Secular is a deceptive _expression_ designed to hide the real intent or meaning of the word which means non-religion. The Arabic word for it is even more deceptive, as it suggests an entirely spurious connection with science. But this is patently false and might denote the exact opposite. The call to Secularism or rather anti-clericalism was started in Europe as a result of the conflict between the temporal rulers and the clergy, on the one hand, and between men of science and the academicians of the church on the other. The conflict was resolved by a compromise, known as the doctrine of the separation of powers. Thus religion was kept out of direct contact with social life. The motives for the anti-clericalism of Europe are non-existent in the environment of Islam. Islam does not oppose the existence of the state. Nor is it in any way against the pursuit of science. Secularism was used as a smoke-screen by means of which doctrines harmful to the principles of Islamic thought were introduced into the Muslim world. Examples of such
doctrines are theories of evolution and psycho-analysis. Secularism was also employed as a smoke-screen to introduce man-made theories, explaining the movements of the cosmos and of society, and mans place in it. This includes theories of social development, such as the historical determinism of Marx and Engels and thinkers of their ilk. The concrete achievements of Western civilization were exploited by propagating that Secularism is the only means of achieving power, progress and authority. The problems created by secularist ideas together with acts of subversion in the Muslim world are too many to be enumerated. Examples: (a) Constitutions and laws which isolate Islamic thought and adopt the secularist policy. (b) Secular schools and universities which abound in the Muslim World, and their danger toMuslim youth who form the majority of the
students in such institutions. (c) The propagation of the false slogan Religion belongs to Allah, and the national home toall. The real purpose of such a slogan is to eliminate influence of religion from sociallife. Therefore, the Conference
recommends:Islam, being a religion as well as a system of Government, work as well as worship, refutes the concept of Secularism which tends to minimize Islamic influence on the daily life of Muslims 2. Calling upon Muslim countries to consider Islamic Shariah as the only source of law andconstitution in all Muslim countries. 3. Given below is the translation of the text of the Resolutions and Recommendations of the First Conference of Motamar al-Munazzamat al-Islami held under the auspices of the Muslim World League, Mecca al-Mukarramah on 18 Rabi al-Awwal 1394 A.H. 10 April, 1974 C.E. Christian Missionary Activity.The Christian Missionary work is aimed at capturing the whole world. The Pope has embarked on visits to various regions, and visited many countries for the first time. He has also been trying to reconcile all Christian denominations, and for this purpose he held a meeting with the Coptic
Bishop for the first time since the separation of their churches sixteen centuries ago. This year the Vatican has concentrated on its relations with the USSR to maintain the Catholic penetration into Eastern Europe, which started 10 years ago with the arrival of the missionaries in Hungary. In pursuance of this policy, some Hungarian students were accepted by the Institute of Priests in Rome. The different aspects of the anti-Islamic activities of the Christian missionaries include the following: 1. They make motion picture films and television programmes and distribute them all over the world. 2. They set-up broadcasting stations
directed to all regions, speaking local and international languages. An example of such broadcasting stations is the Voice of the Bible in Arabic directed to the Arab world.. 3. They publish magazines in which Christianity is associated with modern sciences, Western civilization and new theories. These publications are distributed all over the world free of charge. 4. They establish hospitals, infirmaries, orphanages, schools, and even universities. 5. They adopt some Muslim youth and give them high degrees which enable them to secure vitally important positions in their countries. 6. They are supported by orientalists. 7. They conceal their true intentions and come to Muslim countries as language teachers, educational experts, engineers and physicians.In order to counter-balance the missionary activities, the following should be
done: 1. The Muslim organizations should set up a center to pursue and resist missionaryactivities. 2. All missionary activities in Muslim countries should be stopped and their schools,universities and hospitals should be taken over by the Muslim governments. 3. Islamic broadcasting stations should be set up to spread carefully studied programmes in many languages and dialects. The Conference hopes that Saudi Arabia, being the cradle of Islam, would establish a special broadcasting station for Islamic Dawah and for counteracting the subversive currents. This station should be supervised by the Muslim World League. 4. The Muslim organizations should prepare periodical reports about the activities of missionaries and their associations in their respective regions. These reports should be accurate and take into account their individual and collective activities s well as their
publications. 5. All missionary books, pamphlets, and other publications and discs should be banned in Muslim countries. 6. The economic strength and capability of the Muslim world should be utilized wisely so that no financial assistance or support is given
to any country where missionary activities are carried on against Islam. The principle should be applied to all countries which ban the freedom of Islamic work. 7. Care should be taken before making any contracts with non-Muslims applying for work in Muslim countries to ensure that they are not related to any missionary organization. 8. The evil visits of missionaries should be stopped, and they should not be allowed to deliver lectures to the masses. 9. Books and booklets should be published in many languages and dialects to refute the fabrications of missionaries and other anti-Islamic groups. These books should be sold at cost price. Agencies) Pakistan backtracked Friday, December 30, on a demand ordering
all foreign students attending madrassahs to leave the country by
year-end, urging foreign students remaining to go "as soon as
possible".
President Pervez Musharraf had ordered foreign students
studying in Pakistani madrassahs leave the country by December 31,
following the July 7 terrorist attacks in London.
Around 700 foreign students, out of a total of 1,400, have
since left the country, but hundreds remain, according to Pakistani
officials.
"As such, there is no deadline for them to leave, but we want
them to go back to their countries as soon as possible," Pakistani
Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao told Reuters Friday.
He, however, said that the remaining foreign students might
face "some administrative issues" in leaving the country by
Saturday.
The Pakistani official ruled out forced deportation of
foreign students who failed to meet the deadline.
"What action can we take against those students? The
managements of the madrassahs are responsible to arrange departures of
their students and we are pushing them to help us in implementing our
decision."
On Thursday, Sherpao had said that the deadline would not be
relaxed.
There are around 12,000 madrassahs in Pakistan, often
offering free religious education and board for more than one million
Pakistani children, especially in areas neglected by state education
services.
The number of foreign students attending madrassahs in
Pakistan has already fallen sharply since the government imposed tougher
visa restrictions after the 9/11 attacks on the United
States.

Pakistani madrassahs have vowed to resist the government
order to expel all foreign students by the end of the year, saying they
would resist an deportations of the students.
"Not one foreign student wants to go back," Maulana Ghulam
Rasool, a senior leader at the Ittehad-e-Tanzeemaul Madaris, (the Alliance
of Organizations of Religious Schools), told Reuters.
"They will give themselves up for arrest if the government
uses force."
Rasool said the government decision to expel the students was
aimed at "pleasing European countries and the United States".
"These students should be given a chance to complete their
studies, it's their basic right," he said.
Peaceful Settlement
Authorities in the southern province of Sindh say they have
cancelled the visas of 92 foreign students still at madrassahs
there.
Sindh government spokesman Salahuddin Haider said foreign
students might take seven to eight days to leave.
"They need flights to go back and it will take some
time."
Mohammad Hanif Jallandari said the government decision was
based on wrong grounds, urging a peaceful settlement of the
issue.
"The move is based on wrong assumption that foreign students
are involved in illegal activities. They have legal travel documents,
valid visas and none of them is wanted or suspected in any criminal or
terrorist act. So what is the issue?"
"We want a peaceful settlement of this matter, but if they
try to impose something, we will not accept it at all."

 him, except fasting, which is for Me and I shall reward for it. Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1805.The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to fast on the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah. It was narrated from Hunaydah ibn Khaalid from his wife, that one of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to fast on the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah and the day of Ashoora, and three days each month, the first Monday of the month and two Thursdays. Narrated by al-Nasaai, 4/205 and by Abu Dawood; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in
 Saheeh Abi Dawood, 2/462.

[IslamCity] The Virtues of the Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah

  Bismillah hir Rehman nir RahimThe Virtues of the Ten Days of Dhul HijjahAmong the special seasons of worship are the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, which Allaah has preferred over all the other days of the year. Ibn Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allaah than these ten days."   The people asked, "Not even jihaad for the sake of Allaah?"   He said, "Not even jihaad for the sake of Allaah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing." (Reported by al-Bukhaari, 2/457).Ibn Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him and his father) also reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "There is no deed more precious in the sight of Allaah, nor greater
 in reward, than a good deed done during the ten days of Sacrifice."   He was asked, "Not even jihaad for the sake of Allaah?"   He said, "Not even jihaad for the sake of Allaah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing." (Reported by al-Daarimi, 1/357; its
 isnaad is hasan as stated in al-Irwaa, 3/398).This season of worship brings many benefits, such as the opportunity to correct ones faults and make up for any shortcomings or anything that one might have missed. The happy person is the one who makes the most of these special months, days and hours and draws nearer to his Lord during these times through acts of worship; he will most likely be touched by the blessing of Allaah and will feel the joy of knowing that he is safe from the flames of Hell. (Ibn Rajab, al-Lataaif, p.8)The Muslim must understand the value of his life, increase his worship of
 Allaah and persist in doing good deeds until the moment of death. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): "And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty." [al-Hijr 15:99] The mufassireen (commentators) said: "The certainty
 means death." The Prohibitions for the one who wants to offer a
 sacrificeThe Sunnah indicates that the one who wants to offer a sacrifice must stop cutting his hair and nails and removing anything from his skin, from the beginning of the ten days until after he has offered his sacrifice, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:  "When you see the new moon of Dhul-Hijjah, if any one of you wants to offer a sacrifice, then he should stop cutting his hair and nails until he has offered his sacrifice." According to another report he said: "He should not remove (literally, touch) anything from his hair or skin." (reported by Muslim with four isnaads, 13/146)The Prophets instruction here makes one thing obligatory and his prohibition makes another haraam, according
 to the soundest opinion, because these commands and prohibitions are unconditional and unavoidable. However, if a person does any of these things deliberately, he must seek Allaahs forgiveness but is not required to offer (an extra) sacrifice in expiation; his sacrifice will be acceptable.Whoever needs to remove some hair, nails, etc. because it is harming him, such as having a broken
 nail or a wound in a site where there is hair, should do so, and there is nothing wrong with that. The state of ihraam is so important that it is permitted to cut ones hair if leaving it will cause harm. There is nothing wrong with men or women washing their heads during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) only forbade cutting the hair, not washing it.The wisdom behind this prohibition of the one who wants to offer a sacrifice from cutting his hair etc., is so that he may resemble those in ihraam in some aspects of the rituals performed, and so that he may draw closer to Allaah by offering the sacrifice. So he leaves his hair and nails alone until the time when he has offered his sacrifice, in the hope that Allaah will save him in his entirety from the Fire. And Allaah knows best.If a person has cut his hair or nails during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah because he was not planning to offer a sacrifice, then he decides later, during the ten days, to offer a sacrifice, then he must refrain from cutting his hair and nails from the moment he makes this decision.Some women may delegate their brothers or sons to make the sacrifice on their behalf, then cut their hair during these ten days. This is not correct, because the ruling applies to the one who is offering the sacrifice, whether or not he (or she) delegates someone else to carry out the actual deed. The prohibition does not apply to the person delegated, only to the person who is making the sacrifice, as is indicated in the hadeeth. The person who is sacrificing
