Iran Insists Enrichment Goal Is Peaceful By ALI AKBAR DAREINI, Associated Press Writer http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060412/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iran_nuclear TEHRAN, Iran - Iran's hard-line president said Tuesday that the country "has joined the club of nuclear countries" by successfully enriching uranium for the first time a key process in what Iran maintains is a peaceful energy program. The announcement from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was certain to heighten international tensions surrounding Iran's nuclear program. The U.N. Security Council has demanded that Iran stop all enrichment by April 28 because of suspicions the program is designed to make nuclear weapons. Ahmadinejad warned the West that trying to force it to abandon uranium enrichment would "cause an everlasting hatred in the hearts of Iranians." The head of the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency, Mohamed ElBaradei, was heading to Iran on Wednesday for talks aimed at resolving the standoff. The timing of the announcement suggested Iran wanted to present him with a fait accompli and argue that it cannot be expected to entirely give up a program showing progress. Former president Hashemi Rafsanjani, a powerful member of Iran's ruling clerical regime, said the breakthrough means ElBaradei "faces new circumstances." The White House, which is pressing for U.N. sanctions against Iran, said the enrichment claims "show that Iran is moving in the wrong direction." "Defiant statements and actions only further isolate the regime from the rest of the world," said White House spokesman Scott McClellan. Britain's Foreign Office issued a statement reiterating the U.N. call for a halt to enrichment work and warned that "if Iran does not comply, the Security Council will revisit the issue." The Iranian enrichment announcement "is not particularly helpful," it said. Uranium enrichment can produce either fuel for a nuclear energy reactor as Iran says it seeks or the material needed for an atomic warhead. Tuesday's announcement does not mean Iran is immediately capable of doing either. So far it has succeeded only in getting a series of 164 centrifuges to work in the enrichment process. Thousands of centrifuges are needed for a workable program. But successfully carrying out the highly complicated and delicate process even on a small scale would be a breakthrough, and Iran's nuclear chief said the program would be expanded to 3,000 centrifuges by the end of the year. Ahmadinejad announced it at a nationally televised ceremony clearly aimed at drumming up popular Iranian support for the nuclear program. He addressed an audience that included top military commanders and clerics in an ornate hall in one of Iran's holiest cities, Mashhad. Before he spoke, screens on the stage showed footage of nuclear facilities and scientists at work. "At this historic moment, with the blessings of God Almighty and the efforts made by our scientists, I declare here that the laboratory-scale nuclear fuel cycle has been completed and young scientists produced enriched uranium needed to the degree for nuclear power plants Sunday," Ahmadinejad said. "I formally declare that Iran has joined the club of nuclear countries," he said. The crowd broke into cheers of "Allahu akbar," or "God is great." As part of the ceremony, costumed dancers performed on the stage, holding aloft vials of raw uranium and also chanting "Allahu akbar." Ahmadinejad said the West "has to respect Iran's right for nuclear energy." He said Iran wanted to operate its nuclear program under supervision by the International Atomic Energy Agency and within its rights and the regulations of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. According to the IAEA, a total of 31 countries have nuclear power plants either in operation or under construction. In Vienna, officials of the IAEA, whose inspectors are now in Iran, declined to comment on Ahmadinejad's announcement. But a diplomat familiar with Tehran's enrichment program said it appeared to be accurate. He demanded anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss information restricted to the agency. Speaking before the president, Iran's nuclear chief Vice President Gholamreza Aghazadeh told the audience that Iran has produced 110 tons of uranium gas, the feedstock that is pumped into centrifuges for enrichment. The amount is nearly twice the 60 tons that Iran said last year that it had produced an amount that former U.N. nuclear inspector David Albright said would be enough to produce up to 20 nuclear bombs if Iran developed the capacity. Aghazadeh also said a heavy water nuclear reactor, under construction near Arak in central Iran, will be completed by early 2009. - The European Union is set to remove derogatory terminology about Islam like
"Islamic terrorism" and "fundamentalists" in its new lexion of public
communication to make clear that terrorists are hijacking the religion, an EU
official revealed on Tuesday, April 11.
"Certainly 'Islamic terrorism' is something we will not use
... we talk about 'terrorists who abusively invoke Islam'," the official told
Reuters.
The official, speaking anonymously because the review is an
internal one that is not expected to be made public, said the point of using
careful language was not to "fall into the trap" of offending and alienating
citizens.
"You don't want to use terminology which would aggravate the
problem. This is an attempt ... to be aware of the sensitivities implied by the
use of certain language," he said.
"It is to help us understand what we are saying and try to
avoid making mistakes," he said of the lexicon, who is expected to be adopted
initially in June.
EU counter-terrorism chief Gijs de Vries said that terrorism
was not inherent to any religion, and praised Muslims for opposing attempts by
terrorists abusing Islam.
"They have been increasingly active in isolating the
radicals who abuse Islam for political purposes, and they deserve everyone's
support. And that includes the choice of language that makes clear that we are
talking about a murderous fringe that is abusing a religion and does not
represent it," he told Reuters.
Omar Faruk, a Muslim British barrister who has advised the
government on community issues, said there was a strong need for a "new sort of
political dialogue and terminology".
"Those words cannot sit side by side. Islam is actually very
much against any form of terrorism ... Islam in itself means peace," he
said.
The widespread use of the _expression_ "just creates a culture
where terrorism actually is identified with Islam. That causes me a lot of
stress," Faruk added.
Misinterpreted Jihad
"Islam is actually very much against any

The lexicon, which would set down guidelines for EU
officials and politicians, will reconsider other terms like "Islamists" and
"jihad," which is often used by groups like Al-Qaeda to mean a holy war against
the infidels.
"Jihad means something for you and me, it means something
else for a Muslim. Jihad is a perfectly positive concept of trying to fight evil
within yourself," said the EU official.
Acclaimed British writer Karen Armstrong wrote in the
Guardian newspaper of Britain that the world jihad was stereotyped as
merely meaning holy war.
"Extremists and unscrupulous politicians have purloined the
word for their own purposes, but the real meaning of jihad is not 'holy war' but
'struggle' or 'effort'. Muslims are commanded to make a massive attempt on all
fronts - social, economic, intellectual, ethical and spiritual - to put the will
of God into practice," she wrote.
The United Nations Commission on Human Rights adopted in
April last year a resolution calling for combating defamation campaigns against
Islam and Muslims in the West.
UN Secretary General Kofi Annan said that seeing Islam as a
"monolith" and distorting its tenets are among the many practices that now make
up the term Islamophobia.
"Too many people see Islam as a monolith and as intrinsically
opposed to the West. Caricature remains widespread and the gulf of ignorance is
dangerously deep," he said.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the
largest US Muslim civil liberties, has called for issuing an annual report on
Islamophobia across the world on a par with the global anti-Semitism
report.

However, regarding Pharaoh as merely a unique example is to fail to recognize the broader significance of the subject. It is important to recognize that the story of Pharaoh in the Quran, aside from merely providing information about his life, defines the "Pharaonic" character that has become prevalent in our time. Whether recognized or not, history has seen many people possessed of the Pharaonic character. As a matter of fact, most are familiar with this character. Those who are known for their arrogance are often likened to Pharaoh. The Quran refers to Pharaoh and his people as follows: [Such was the case with Pharaohs people and those before them. They denied their Lords Signs so We destroyed them for their wrong actions. We drowned Pharaohs people. All of them were wrongdoers.] (Al-Anfal 8:54) The character trait common to Pharaoh and other nations that perished before him, is arrogance. The arrogance they harbored in their hearts prevented them from accepting Allahs messenger and obeying him. Their rejection only led them to torment both in this world and beyond. Furthermore, exploring the nature of the arrogance of Pharaoh, and considering the nations referred to in the Quran as those that have gone down in history for their arrogance, and their relevance to our day, will help us better understand the importance of the subject. The attitude of Pharaoh and his people towards Allahs messenger was common to all corrupt nations. Their arrogance reached to such an extent that they even dared to make a mockery of Allah s messengers and the book he was sent with. This is related in the following verses: [We sent Musa with Our Signs to Pharaoh and his nobles. He said, "I am the Messenger of the Lord of the worlds." But when he came to them with Our Signs, they merely laughed at them.] (Az-Zukhruf 43:46-47) One of Pharaohs distinguishing traits was as is the case with his leader, Satan his immoderate attachment to worldly things. Due to this distorted mindset, he failed to make a rational assessment of the events that confronted him, and thus, could not grasp Musas superiority. According to him, worldly values such as wealth, power, and money were the criteria that established ones superiority. This poor reasoning of Pharaoh is described in the Quran as follows: [Pharaoh called to his people, saying, "My people, does the kingdom of Egypt not belong to me? Do not all these rivers flow under my control? Do you not then see? Am I not better than this man who is contemptible and can scarcely make anything clear? Why have gold bracelets not been put upon his arms and why is there not a train of angels accompanying him?"] (Az-Zukhruf 43:51-53) The issues Allah draws our attention to in the verses above are as follows: 1. According to Pharaoh, the measure of ones superiority was not fear of Allah, but possessions and wealth. Nobility was also considered important. 2. Pharaoh failed to grasp that the decision rested with Allah alone; thus Musas stature as Allahs messenger was hurtful to his pride. 3. He despised Musa (peace and blessings be upon him), found him contemptible, and mentioned his manner of speaking as a mark of inferiority. Focusing on people s imperfections is evidently the behavior of an arrogant person. 4. Pharaoh thought the messenger should have been accompanied by angels or should have possessed wealth and power since, in his opinion, these were the symbols of authority. Is it necessary for a woman to cover her face in the presence of strangers (who are not her designated Mahaarim) according to Shariáh? Answer 15617 2005-09-07 This question is answered in this article in the context of the claim that the veil or Niqaab is primarily a social requirement and custom according to the environment and custom and according to the environment and customs of a particular country. In endeavouring to answer the question, we will confine ourselves to a brief examination of the relevant Qurãnic verses. Surah An-Nur, Verses 30 and 31 And Say to the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts) and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent (like both eyes for necessity to see the way, or outer palms of hands or one eye or dress like veil, gloves, head-cover, apron), and to draw their veils all over Juyubihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bossoms) and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husbands fathers, or their sons, or their husbands sons, or their brothers or their brothers sons, or their sisters sons, or their (Muslim women) (i.e. sisters in Islam), or the (female) slaves whom their right hands possess, or old male servants who lack vigour, or small children who have no sense of feminine sex. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And all of you beg Allah to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful It is apparent that upon a plain reading the purpose of the verse is to eradicate promiscuity, fornication and adultery and all the preliminary steps that lead directly to the commission of such shameful acts. The references to lowering their gaze, drawing their veils over their bosoms and striking their feet to draw attention indicate that all acts or omissions which, in the ordinary course leads directly to sexual promiscuity and FITNAH are forbidden. In order to totally eradicate sexual promiscuity and FITNAH, the verse goes on to say that a woman is not permitted to display her beauty and charms except in degrees to her husband, father and the other classes of person specified in the verse. The exempt class would constitute the MAHAARIM, and any other would qualify as strangers or GHAIR MAHRAM. The principle fixed by the verse is, therefore, that a woman cannot display her beauty to any male person other than the persons exempted by the verse. It goes without saying that the face is the focal-point of a womans beauty, and the main source of attraction. Hence, the face of a woman cannot be displayed or shown to a stranger in normal circumstances whether in public or private according to the general principle fixed by the verse as stated above. She is permitted to display her beauty to the exempt class (the MAHAARIM) for obvious reasons of close contact, and because of the considerably lesser danger of sexual promiscuity and FITNAH within that class. (Zamakhshari) The Shariáh, however, is practical, dynamic and takes into account the real situations of life. A woman may - in the case of genuine need - be forced to expose her face in the presence of strangers. For example, when she appears in court to give witness, etc. It is against this background that the preceding portion of the verse they should not display their beauty and charms except what must ordinarily appear unavoidable falls into proper perspective. The words Illaa maa dhahara minhaa are in context an exception to the general rule, and cover those cases of genuine need and necessity when a woman is forced to expose her face in the presence of a stranger. That is how the great commentators of the Noble Qurãn have interpreted the verse. Take the following two examples, Women must not display any part of their beauty and charms to strangers except what cannot possibly be concealed. (Ibn Katheer) Why is the woman permitted to display her external beauty and charms? Because to conceal that would cause her inconvenience. A woman is forced to deal in commodities with her own hands. She is compelled by genuine need to expose her face especially at the times of giving evidence, litigating in court and marriage. She is compelled to walk the streets and expose her feet, especially poor women. This is the meaning of illaa maa dhahara min haa that is except what the situations of ordinary life compel her to expose. (Zamakhshari) A further point is the interpretation of illaa maa dhahara minhaa has been highlighted by the well known scholar, Moulana Ashraf Ali Thanwi (RA). He states that the verb used is that of the first form dhahara and not adhhar which (in fourth form) signifies a deliberate exposure or display. Asalaamu alaikum,
Indeed to Allah we belong and to Him we will return I bring
you sad news of a revert brother who is terminally ill. His name is
Leslie Craddle. He is dying of stomach cancer with which he has been
suffering for 7 years. All Praise to Allah, he converted to Islam 2
years ago and when my husband last spoke to him his faith seemed strong.
He is, however, not getting enough support from the Muslims. He
and his non-Muslim family have requested that muslims visit him, but very few
brothers have visited. He is very weak and asleep most of the time from
a combination of exhaustion and pain killers. When asked to make dhikr,
he responded that he was too tired. Brother Julaibib also met his
mother today who does not know how the Muslims take care of their dead.
She did mention that she wants someone responsible to take charge and that he
musn't be forgotten or she will have him buried at her local church.
So, there are three
requests: 1. Please encourage the men of
your family to visit him so that he can constantly be encouraged to make dhikr
and remember Allah and prepare for his meeting with Him. He is now in
St Michael's Ward, Trinity Hospice, 30 Clapham
Common North Side, London, SW4 0RN. 020 7787 1000.
He can only tolerate
short visits so you need to plan for a 5-10 min visit. Visitors can just
turn up at any time and the receptionist will show them where to go.
2. Sisters: Please send cards, letters etc., and encourage your
children to do so. It doesn't need to be complicated: a dua with a
picture drawn by a child are a beautiful and inspiring combination.

AA, This is sent to the interfaith audience. Hope, Allah will forgive me for my shortcomings. Some Muslims celebrate and some don't, but both honor our prophet's wish that it should not transform divinity away from God. No Muslim has done that, as such, celebration is a day of appreciating what he has done to the mankind - a mercy for the mankind. Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) birthday Mike Mohamed Ghouse For those, who would like to learn a little bit more about “ Prophet Muhammad – Peace be upon him” . Peace be upon him (pbuh) is a phrase Muslims traditionally add whenever they recite the name of any of the prophets mentioned in the Qur’aan, including but not limited to Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Noah, Solomon, David and Jesus. On occasion of his birthday, today April 11th , short of writing a synopsis, I am recommending the book titled ‘Muhammad, the biography of the prophet by Karen Armstrong. When the book came out some 12 years ago, a few Muslims did not like it, as it was written by a Christian, not a Muslim. That happens with every faith group. My curiosity made me read it, and my reverence for the prophet transformed from a spiritual figure into a down to the earth human being. I could relate with the man and Armstrong took me through a reading that I could envision his mission. A few things deeply affected me about his simplicity were; When he was the leader, spiritual, military and political of the Arabian Peninsula, he was at the zenith of worldly glory. Yet he chose to live a simple life. He believed and practiced submission to the Allah which he preached. As Krishna has asked Arjuna to surrender to him or Jesus asked to follow him. Out of reverence, his followers wanted to make a statue of him and draw his portraits, any human would have loved that, and probably the Kings would have demanded it, but not him. He felt that people should not make any mortal being other than God, the divine. That’s where the phrase no one but Allah comes from. He asked people not to worship him and not to draw his portraits. Indeed, he had asked his people to bury him in an unmarked grave so people can remember and follow the message, rather than go astray and worship the messenger. Muhammad told his daughter Fatima, that on the day of reckoning, she will be judged on her merits alone. Because she is the daughter of the prophet, she will not get a blanket pass, she has to earn it thru her deeds. One’s salvation, he taught was through good deeds. Individual responsibility is at the core of teachings of Qur’aan. He defined good deeds as planting a tree, knowing well that the tree is not going to bear the fruit or give the shade to you, but will give both to someone else in the future. In another instance, his associates asked him… to make the story short, he said the one who takes care of the neighbors, shares whatever he or she has with the neighbor is preferred over a person who does nothing but prayers all day. He emphasized one’s responsibility to other human beings and the environment. Prayers, he said connects one with the divine, refreshes the soul. Those who are familiar with Yoga, the meditation that brings mind and body together and produce peace, calmness and collectedness, can understand the magic of the prayers that benefit all human souls equally. Talking about equality, some of the rituals are designed to inculcate a sense of humility, a feeling of being on par with every one. When Muslims go to pray, they stand shoulder to shoulder, king or pauper, intellect or dumb, they all form and stand in the same line to acknowledge that God is eternal and we are all humble souls. In those beautiful moments, one strips himself the ego, hate, anger, ill-will and malice, which the prophet called Jihad, the inner struggle to bring freedom, Nirvana, Mukti, Moksha and salvation to oneself. I recommend this book to anyone interested in learning about the founder of Islam. Farley, the publishers had to say this “Armstrong wrote the book in response to Ayatollah Khomeini's 1989 fatwah against Salman Rushdie as well as the subsequent reaction against Islam in the West. Most of the literature at the time portrayed Muhammad as either unblemished saint or devious charlatan. Armstrong determined to fill this void. Muhammad: A Biography of the Prophet is respectful while remaining true to the historical record. What emerges is a complex, extraordinarily gifted man, whose character and ideas were powerful enough to drastically alter history and attract billions of followers. But more than this, Armstrong shows Muhammad to be a true prophet: "In all great religions, seers and prophets have conceived strikingly similar visions of a transcendent and ultimate reality...The monotheistic faiths, however, call this transcendence 'God.' Police Hunt 4 Women In Beating Death Of Bingo Winner

Police in Toronto are searching for four women
suspected of beating a man to death over a $1,000
jackpot he had just won in a bingo hall, according to
Local 6 News.
Police said Yousif Youkhana, 58, was walking outside
the Country Bingo Hall over the weekend with his
$1,000 winnings when he was approached by the women.
When Youkhana refused to hand over the jackpot, the
women kicked and punched him, the report said.
Witnesses said the man stumbled back into the bingo
hall after the attack and later died from his
injuries.
The women fled on foot after the beating, according to
witnesses.

[IslamCity] IS TAAZEEM & MELAAD BIDAH? (PROPHET SALLAHO ALAHAY WASSALAM'S BIRTHDAY)
Is taazeem & meelad bidah? Can we celebrate the Prophets (peace be upon him) birthday by doing tazeem and standing? Many people repeatedly ask what is the Sharée status of "Éid-e-Meelad-un-Nabee'. Moreover, What is the ruling of the Shariáh with regard to standing up in reverence and reciting Salaat and salaam during the customary Meelad proceedings? Answer: The establishment of ceremonial gatherings under the banner of "Éid-un-Nabee" is prohibited according to the Shariáh. Attaching importance and significance to such functions is purely Bidáh and an innovation in Deen, because neither did Rasulullah himself indulge in it, nor did the illustrious Khulafaa-e-Raashideen (Radhiyallaahu-Ánhum) organise such functions. Similarly, neither did any of the other Sahaaba-e-Kiraam (Radhiyallaahu-Ánhum) participate in such gatherings, nor is there any incident on record during the blessed era of the taabi'een or tab'e taabi'een (Rahmatullaahi Álayhim) that can, in any way, substantiate this innovation. No proof whatsoever can be found, in spite of the fact that these were people who were best acquainted with the Sunnah of Rasulullah (Sallallaaahu Álayhi Wasallam) and had total love for him. They were staunch followers of the Shariáh. Rasulullah (Sallallaaahu Álayhi Wasallam) has in no unclear terms, said: - "whoever introduces anything that is not part of Deen, into this Deen of ours, it shall be rejected." (Bukhari/Muslim) In another Hadith he says: - "Hold steadfast onto my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly-guided Khulafaa, after me. Hold steadfast onto it firmly, and beware of newly-introduced practices, for every new practice is an innovation and every innovation leads one astray." (Abu Dawood/Tirmizi) Severe warnings have been sounded in the above-mentioned Ahaadith with regard to introducing and implementing innovations in Deen. The holy Qur'an enjoins: - "And whatsoever the messenger giveth you, take it. And whatsoever he forbiddeth, abstain (from it). And keep your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is stern in reprisal." (59:7) "Verily in the messenger of Allah, ye have a good example for him who looketh unto Allah and the last day, and remembereth Allah much." (33:21) "This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed my favour unto you, and have chosen for you a religion, al-Islam." (5:3) There are numerous other Aayaat and Ahaadith that can be quoted. But from no Aayat or Ahaadith can the current form of "Eid-e-Meelad-un-Nabee (Sallallaaahu Álayhi Wasallam)', be proved. In spite of this, the people that revel in establishing and participating in such functions, and regard the same as a form of reward, insist on forging ahead with their carnal ideals. This attitude of theirs causes some serious questions to be posed: - Did Allah Ta'ala not perfect Deen-e-Islam for this Ummah? Did Rasulullah (Sallallaaahu Álayhi Wasallam) not disclose to us all the facets and aspects of Islam that required being put into practice? The bitter truth for the exponents of Bid'a is that it was only many centuries after the righteous and golden era of Islam that people began t0 fabricate innovations under the h00d of "Éid-e-Meelad-un-Nabee (Sallallaaahu Álayhi Wasallam)" and "Mahfeel-e-Meelad", which were, practices not ordained by Allah Taãla to any of His Ambiyaa Álayhimus salaam. Will such innovations grant proximity to Allah Taãla? Never! On the contrary, these innovations should be a cause of great concern and alarm for the Ummat-e-Muslimah! Na-oothu-billahi-min-thalika! We seek Allah Taãla's refuge from innovations that tantamount to levelling mind-boggling accusations against the pure and venerable personality of Rasulullah (Sallallaaahu Álayhi Wasallam) by innovating such practices, one is indirectly suggesting that Rasulullah (Sallallaaahu Álayhi Wasallam) concealed from the Ummah, aspects of Deen that were of immense benefit t0 it. How can this be possible when Allah Ta'ala himself categorically declares that he perfected this religion for us and completed his favour upon us, which means that Rasulullah (Sallallaaahu Álayhi Wasallam) conveyed every single aspect of Deen to the Ummah and that he left no stone unturned in showing us every road leads t0 Jannah and every road that takes one to Jahannam so that we may adopt the former and avoid the latter. Hence, it is mentioned in one Hadith: - "It was the incumbent duty of every Nabee Álayhis-salaam to guide his Ummah towards that which was beneficial for it and warn it against that which was detrimental for it." Allah said And if anyone of them dies , never pray for him (on his funeral) , nor stand on his grave (for his burial) THE QADIANI FUNERAL Bismilla hirrahma nirraheem In The Name Of ALLAH , The most beneficent, The Most Merciful The Qadiani Funeral Authentic religious rulings (Fatwa) issued in the light of the Islamic Shariat in reply to questions as to how the Muslims should conduct themselves in their dealings with the Qadianis/Ahmadis/Mirzais. Questions: 1.On the death of Dr. Muhammad Saeed, a Mirzai of Village Datah, District Mansahra, the Muslims of Datah offered his funeral prayer under a Muslim Imam. Thereafter, the Qadianis held a second funeral prayer for the said deceased person. What is the injunction of the Shariat about the said Imam and the Muslims (who participated in the funeral prayer)? 2.Muslim girls are living in Qadiani households as wives. Their Muslim parents are maintaining son/father-in-law relations with these Qadianis. Will the children born from such wedlocks be regarded as legitimate or illegitimate children in the light of the Shariat of the holy Prophet Muhammad(sallallaho alaihe wassallam). 3.The Muslim communities in general do not treat the Qadianis like other Kafirs (infidels); they treat them like Muslims. They freely mix, eat and drink with the Qadianis and participate in their joys and sorrows and bid them Assalamu alaykum (peace on you), when they meet one another. Likewise, they invite them to their funeral and marriage feasts and take part in Fatihas. Are they (the Muslims) accountable for such acts and do they remain as Muslims in the light of the Shariat? Majlis-e-Tahaffuz-e-Khatm-e-Nubuwwat. District Mansahra. Answers Before stating the answers, I mention a few points by way of introductory remarks. If there is anyone who holds beliefs of infidelity and yet claims to be a Muslim and presents his beliefs of infidelity in the name of Islam, by placing wrong interpretations on the texts of the Shariat, he is called a Zindeeq. In the chapter on Zindeeq (The Apostate), Allama Shami writes: "because a Zindeeq camouflages his infidelity and desires to popularize his false beliefs and presents them in an apparently plausible form, this is what is called camouflaging infidelity". (Shami, Vol. 4, P. 246, New Edition). In Musawwa, an Arabic commentary on Muwatta Imamul Hind, Shah Waliullah Muhaddith Dehlavi writes: "It may be explained that a person who is opposed to the true Faith and does not believe in Islam, nor does he acknowledge the religion of Islam, either outwardly or inwardly, is called a Kafir. If he believes in the Faith only verbally, but offers such interpretations of some fundamentals of the Faith as contradict the views of the Sahabah, the Tabieen and the consensus of the Ummah, then such a person is called a Zindeeq". By way of explaining the difference between a correct interpretation and a wrong interpretation, Shah Waliullah further writes:- "Moreover, there are two kinds of interpretations: One that does not contravene a decision that stands finally established under the authority of the Quran and the Sunnah; the other one is that interpretation which contravenes a decision that stands proved under a finally established evidence (based on the Quran and /or the Sunnah). Such an interpretation is Zandaqah". Citing examples of interpretations that involve Zandaqah, Shah Waliullah further writes: "... or some person says that although the noble Prophet(sallallaho alaihe wassallam) is undoubtedly the last of the Prophets, yet this only means that after him none will be given the name of a Prophet, but the concept of prophethood -- viz. the sending down by Allah of some person who must be obeyed as a matter of obligation and who has been protected from persevering in sins and faults -- continues in the Ummah even after the noble Prophet(sallallaho alaihe wassallam), then such a person is a Zindeeq." (Musawwa, Vol. 2, P. l30) In short, one is called a Zindeeq who presents his beliefs of infidelity in the garb of Islam, interprets the Quran and the Sunnah in a way that is contrary to the finally confirmed Islamic beliefs handed down through uninterrupted authority. Secondly: a Zindeeq falls within the purview of an apostate. In one respect a Zindeeq is worse than an apostate, because if by expressing repentance, an apostate re-embraces Islam, there is consensus of opinion that his repentance is acceptable, but opinions differ about the acceptability or the unacceptability of the repentance of a Zindeeq. It occurs in Durr-i-Mukhtar: "... in the same way the repentance of a person who becomes a Kafir on account of his Zandaqah is not acceptable. He has been described in Fathul Qadeer as Zahirul Mazhab (professing the Faith only outwardly), but the Fatwa given in the book of Fatwa Qazi Khan in the chapter "Al-Hazr" lays down: If a magician or a Zindeeq, who is well-known and preaches (his beliefs), is arrested before expressing repe

Two weeks later they went to another judge and told the same story to give them authority along with the F.B.I., the A.T.F. and local police (12 in all) to travel 150 miles north to Albany County to confine my wife and daughters in our home for five hours while they ramshackled through our residence and confiscated our personal property and possessions such as personal papers, files, writings, books, cameras, computers, etc. They even took our childrenâs

Some Muslims celebrate and some don't, but both honor our prophet's wish that it should not transform divinity away from Allah. No Muslim has done that, as such, celebration is a day of appreciating what he has done to the mankind - a rahmat for the mankind. Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) birthday Mike Mohamed Ghouse For those, who would like to learn a little bit more about “ Prophet Muhammad – Peace be upon him” . Peace be upon him (pbuh) is a phrase Muslims traditionally add whenever they recite the name of any of the prophets mentioned in the Qur’aan, including but not limited to Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Noah, Solomon, David and Jesus. On occasion of his birthday, today April 11th , short of writing a synopsis, I am recommending the book titled ‘Muhammad, the biography of the prophet by Karen Armstrong. When the book came out some 12 years ago, a few Muslims did not like it, as it was written by a Christian, not a Muslim, which happens with every faith group. My curiosity made me read it, and my reverence for the prophet transformed from a spiritual figure into a down to the earth human being. I could relate with the man and Armstrong took me through a reading that I could envision his mission. A few things that deeply affected me about his simplicity were; When he was the leader, (spiritual, military and political) of the Arabian Peninsula, he was at the zenith of worldly glory. Yet he chose to live a simple life. He believed and practiced submission to Allah which he preached. Out of reverence, his followers wanted to make a statue of him and draw his portraits, any human would have loved that, and probably the Kings would have demanded it, but not him. He felt that people should not make any mortal being other than God, the divine. That’s where the phrase no one but Allah comes from. He asked people not to worship him and not to draw his portraits. Indeed, he had asked his people to bury him in an unmarked grave so people can remember and follow the message, rather than go astray and worship the messenger. Muhammad told his daughter Fatima, that on the day of reckoning, she will be judged on her merits alone. Because she is the daughter of the prophet, she will not get a blanket pass, she has to earn it thru her deeds. One’s salvation, he taught was through good deeds. Individual responsibility is at the core of teachings of Qur’aan. He defined good deeds as planting a tree, knowing well that the tree is not going to bear the fruit or give the shade to you, but will give both to someone else in the future. In another instance, his associates asked him… to make the story short, he said the one who takes care of the neighbors, shares whatever he or she has with the neighbor is preferred over a person who does nothing but prayers all day. He emphasized one’s responsibility to other human beings and the environment. Charity is another duty of an individual. Addressing a question about the affordability of individuals to take care of others, after a series of responses Prophet Muhammad said the least you can do for other being, if you have nothing else to offer is a smile of kindness. Rumi asks this: What did you accomplish in your life? How did you consume your sustenence and strength? I gave you bounty. Where is your gratitude? I gave you the capital. Where did you lose the luster of your eyes? Where did you lose all the five senses? There is whole chapter in Qur'aan dedicated to one's responsibilities towards others and environment. Prayers, he said connects one with the divine, refreshes the soul. Those who are familiar with Yoga, the meditation that brings mind and body together and produce peace, calmness and collectedness, can understand the magic of the prayers that benefit all human souls equally. Talking about equality, some of the rituals are designed to inculcate a sense of humility, a feeling of being on par with every one. When Muslims go to pray, they stand shoulder to shoulder, king or pauper, intellect or dumb, they all form and stand in the same line to acknowledge that God is eternal and we are all humble souls. In those beautiful moments, one strips himself the ego, hate, anger, ill-will and malice, which the prophet called Jihad, the inner struggle to bring freedom, Nirvana, Mukti, Moksha and salvation to oneself. Hadhrat Abu Zar (Radhiyallaho anho) narrates that once
the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) came out
of his house. It was autumn and the leaves were
falling off the trees. He caught hold of a branch of a
tree and its leaves began to drop in large number.
At this he remarked, '0, Abu Zar! (Radhiyallaho anho)
when a Muslim offers his salaat to please Allah, his
sins are shed away from him just as these leaves are
falling off this tree."
In autumn, usually, the leaves of the trees fall in
large numbers, so much so that on some trees not a
single leaf is left behind. The same is the effect of
salaat performed with sincerity and devotion. All the
sins of the person offering salaat are wiped off.
It should, however, be remembered that according to
the verdict of the theologians, it is only the
saghaa'ir (minor sins) that are forgiven by the
performance of salaat and other services.
The kabaa'ir (major sins) are not pardoned without
repentance. We should, therefore, in addition to
saying salaat, be particular about doing taubah
(repentance) and istighfaar (seeking forgiveness).
Allah may, however, pardon, by His bountiful Grace,
even the kabaa'ir of any person because of his salaat.

[IslamCity] FATWA ON CELEBRATING PROPHET SALALAHO ALAHAY WASSALAM'S BIRTHDAY
QUESTION
Isnt it essential that we must celebrate and be happy
on the birthday of our Beloved Prophet (saw)?
Allah swt states in the Holy Quran Of the favour and
mercy of Allah let them rejoice, that is better than
all their wealth 10:58. This verse Allah orders us to
rejoice in his favours and mercy. Also in the Quran we
are reminded spend not wastefully (your wealth), in
the manner of a spendthrift, verily the spendthrift
are the brothers of the devils 15:26. Although Allah
is normally fond of simplicity, from the above verse
stating let them rejoice, that is better than all
their wealth 10:58 we can say it is a divine
commandment of Allah to rejoice and celebrate the
favours and mercy that He has bestowed upon us and
spending ones finances in such a way will be
considered by Allah more important than all savings.
So what are favours and mercy of Allah? The Holy Quran
provides answer 2:64 The Prophet SAW is the ONLY
blessing of Allah that He describes with the word
favour. What exactly is Allah swts mercy? The Holy
Quran states: And we have sent you (Muhammad) except
as a mercy to mankind 21:107. This shows the Holy
Prophets SAW distinctive quality incarnate in both
word and deed. The Prophet SAW also described himself
so eloquently and concisely when he said, I am a
mercy bestowed by Allah. Allah states in the Holy
Quran, Of the favour and mercy of Allah let them
rejoice, that is better than all their wealth 10:58.
Therefore, according to Quranic teachings, isnt it
essential that we must celebrate and be happy on the
birthday of our Beloved Prophet SAW?
ANSWER:
It suffices to state that the four famous Imaams and
traditional scholars, viz. Imaam Abu Hanifa, Imaam
Shaafiee, Imaamm Maaliki and Imaam Ahmad ibn Hanbal,
regard the celebration of Meelaad as impermissible.
The abovementioned Imaams were great traditional
scholars and masters in every field of Islam. No
latter scholars views can be equated to the views of
these great Imaams. One may go one step beyond the
four Imaams, the era of the Sahaaba (Radhiallaahu
Anhum). They loved the prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi
Wasallam) but never did they celebrate Meelaad. In
fact, Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) never
celebrated his own birth or instructed anyone to do
so.
