Bismillah [IslamCity] Hindu fundamentalist rule the roost

2008-10-21 Thread waheedahsan
Abbas Jafari

India's Leader of the Opposition, LK Advani, of the Hindu
fundamentalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has once again renounced
self-determination in Kashmir as the solution to the problem even as
protests in the Valley reach fever-pitch. Advani's reprimand of any
such accommodation was expressed in a letter to India's president,
Manmohan Singh, upon Pakistan's Minister of Information, Sherry
Rehman clarifying that Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari remained
steadfast to the principle of self-determination, after Mr. Zardari
had allegedly labeled Kashmiri freedom fighters terrorists and
downplayed India's threat to Pakistan.

The BJP head reportedly reasserted "The state of Jammu and Kashmir
has been, is, and shall remain an integral part of India and any
attempt to separate it from the rest of the country will be resisted
by all necessary means (and Pakistan) must vacate the areas of Jammu
and Kashmir which they have occupied through aggression."

In the immediate wake of this report followed the news that Indian
troops in Kashmir had killed eight and injured fifty as protestors
rallied for independence in defiance of the curfew imposed pending
the visit of India's Prime Minister to present development packages.
On this one of the pro-independence leaders, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq,
summed up the futility of that action saying in a Reuter's
interview, "Kashmir's problem is neither the laying of railways nor
starting power projects. It is the question of the political
aspirations of the people".

What precipitated the current crisis, of course, was the Hindu
fundamentalist blockade of the Jammu trade route which compelled
Kashmir's traders to stage a protest march to market their wares down
the shorter road leading to Muzzafarabad in Pakistan. But not
learning any lesson from that, India is reported to have since
imposed a food grain blockade of the Valley, apparently in the hope
of quelling the uprising. This will inevitably heighten the
opposition to India's rule in Kashmir, put its neighbours on alert,
and call into question India's claim of being the world's largest
secular democracy,

Bismillah [IslamCity] THINK ABOUT " D E A T H "

2008-10-21 Thread sbpn39
D E A T H

We know very well that everyone has a fixed period of life.  We do not live
longer or shorter than this fixed period of life.  Soon we will be transferred
from this worldly life to the GRAVES.  Where we will be alone with our deeds
only.  If they are good, we will be in a state of well being, and if they are
not, we will be in torment until the Day of Resurrection.  The DAY, when
records and ledgers of deeds will be unveiled.  At that time, the scales will
be placed and people’s deeds will be measured.  Whoever had done an atom’s
weight of good shall see it, and whoever had done an atom’s weight of evil
shall see it.

On that DAY, the sun will descent upon people until it is only a mile away,
People will be sweating according to their deeds.  Some will sweat up to their
ankles, some up to their knees, some up to their waists, and some will be
submerged in sweat completely.  On that DAY a bridge extended over Hell will be
set over the Infernal Fire.  It will be thinner than a strand of hair and
sharper than a sword.  Trust and ties of kinship will be sent forth and will
stand on both sides, right and left.  People will pass on it according to their
deeds.  Some will pass like lighting, some will pass crawling and some will be
in between the fast and the slow. On that DAY people will be divided into two
groups, one in Paradise and others in the Hell Fire.

We still have time to re-check our faith & belief since it is duty of each and
every one of us to find out truth and follow it.  We must check the
authenticity of what we are following.  Are we following the true religion or
we just following the elders and religious leaders with closed eyes.  We should
take advantage of the time we have on Earth as an opportunity to prepare
ourselves for death and all that comes after it.  God has told us in the Holy
Quran how we can decrease the horrors that come after death.

According to Muslims the only true religion on earth is ISLAM. Everyone has its
own choice to find out truth but one must not decide anything just seeing the
followers only.  Rather one must study sacred scripture to find out truth.
ISLAM is for the whole mankind so whoever accept it and follow it will get
success. Accepting is not enough till we follow it in true spirit.  Let us ask
our creator O’ Allah, Creator of the Heavens and the Earth, Knower of the
unseen and the seen, we ask You for the guidance and to make us witness that
You are ALLAH and that there is no true deity but You Alone, the Eternal.  The
One who begets not, nor was begotten and that there is none co-equal or
comparable unto to You; You have the Majesty and Bounty, You are the
Ever-Living, the Eternal Guardian.  We ask You true repentance for the bad we
have done.  Ease for us the horrors of that Day and make us among the happy
ones and join us with the righteous, O Allah,
the Sustainer of all that exists show us the right path and guide us towards
accepting and following the true religion ISLAM………..Ameen.

Bismillah [IslamCity] Financial Crisis reaches Gaza

2008-10-21 Thread raja chemayel

The Financial crisis is affecting Gaza
to the extend that the Tunnel-diggers
are asking for a raise to their salaries
and the smugglers want to deal in Euros-currency
only and no more the weakend US Dollars.

Gaza banks are closed because they have no electricity
nor water...nor even toilet-paper.

On the other-side the Weapon's salesmen
on the Egyptian side , would like to maintain the US Dollars
because those Weapons are imported from the USA ,
courtesy of the CIA and the Mosaad

Why ? did you ask.

Elementary my dear Watson !!

When Hamas has weapons it will surely use it against Israel
(and not against the dissidents  , like Mr. Abbas does )
and then minor damages will fall on the Israeli-side
which is an excuse for the IDF to hit back with F16
and with Merkava Tanks.

Conclusion :
The financial crisis did not stop the Hamas-militants
to spend their hard-earned-money to purchase weapons
which shall be used as a pretext for re-invading Gaza by Israel.
Paid by the sweat ,blood and tears of the brave Gazzeans.

What is wrong with the PFLP?

By Khalid Amayreh in the West Bank

16 October, 2008

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) is not what it used
to be. Today the organization which sired Laila Khalid, George Habash and many
other luminaries in the skies of the Palestinian struggle for freedom and
justice is functioning very much like a hanger-on vis-à-vis the American
backed Palestinian Authority (PA).

The continuing affinity between de-facto PFLP leader Abdel Rahim Mallouh and
his namesake, the Chairman of the PA and Fatah Chief Mahmoud Abbas seems to
suggest that the leftist group is effectively abandoning its erstwhile
principles. What is even more shocking is that the scandalous misdeeds of the
Ramallah regime is having little bearing if any on the marriage of convenience
between the PFLP and the PA leadership.

Not too long ago, the PFLP didn't hesitate to physically eliminate any
Palestinian figure that would "cross the red lines" with regard to dealing
with the colonialist Israeli occupiers. The assassination by a PFLP cadre
more than two decades ago of the Israeli-appointed by PLO-accepted former
mayor of Nablus, Thafer al Masri, can be viewed as a classical example in this
regard.

Bismillah [IslamCity] Credit crunch a golden opportunity

2008-10-21 Thread Shahid
Credit crunch a golden opportunity

(Sukuk.net Press) The global credit crunch is a blessing in disguise for
Islamic finance as international debt markets enter a new era, according to
industry observers.

"Now is a golden opportunity for Islamic finance to provide an alternative
model which, by its very nature, binds both the real and financial economies -
just what the world needs right now," Swati Taneja, conference director of the
Islamic finance industry's leading global event, the twice-yearly International
Islamic Finance Forum that next takes place in Istanbul from 13 -17 October
2008.

"There has never been a more interesting time for cautious investors burned in
the conventional credit crunch to begin looking at what the Islamic markets
have to offer," Taneja added. "For Islamic financial products to be compliant
they avoid excessive gearing and speculation - precisely what regulators are
looking for the world over in the new era we are entering."

The Istanbul forum provides the first major opportunity for Islamic finance
practitioners from around the world to assess the impact of the turmoil that
has gripped international markets in recent weeks.

"In today's globalised markets financial products of all types - Islamic or
conventional - are affected," said Taneja. "But what is clear is that Islamic
finance practitioners are identifying new markets as a result and are likely to
have renewed confidence in the inherent sustainability of the Islamic finance
model. Some are even suggesting Islamic products could provide safe havens in
these challenging times."

Events in world markets in recent weeks have illustrated that the Islamic
finance industry, cannot remain entirely immune from turmoil on global markets.
It has, however, avoided the toxic debt problems of the conventional industry.

Nevertheless, the Islamic debt market, which was doubling in size every year
reaching a total of $90 billion, has slowed. In the first eight months of this
year, Sukuk (Islamic bond) issuance fell to $14 billion compared $23 billion
over the same period last year, according to Standards & Poor's.

"Some blame the credit crunch for reducing the appetite for risk while others
believe restrictive definitions by prominent Islamic scholars on what
constitutes Sukuk have made institutions more cautious," Taneja said.

Whatever the reason, Sukuk are still being issued despite the uncertain
markets, with most expecting these asset-based instruments to receive a lift,
particular from governments. Standard & Poor's, for example, expects total
Sukuk issuance to reach $25 billion this year.

Sukuk structures and capital markets will come under examination at the
Istanbul forum as well as emerging Takaful development; Islamic jurisprudence;
alternative asset classes including private equity and real estate; and
sustainability with the greening of Islamic finance.

A special session on Turkey at the crossroads will take place at the Istanbul
forum which will also examine the status of Turkey's attempts to become a
member of the European Union. The results of a study on the impact of politics
on the underdevelopment of Islamic finance in Turkey will also be presented.

Children Right Must Be Ensured : This Has High Priority

Press has reported that the Chief Adviser Fakhruddin
Ahmed has underscored the need for changes in the mindset and sincere work to
ensure overall development of children.
"Laws and charters for the welfare of children would
not work if we don't bring changes to our mindset and work sincerely for them,"
he said at a function marking the World Child Day and Child Rights Week
2008.Fakhruddin Ahmad said the question should come to the minds of all:
'Can't we do something for the welfare of children from one's respective
position?'"One question rises in my mind: Are all children of our country in
good condition? The answer is: No, they are not."He said: "How a child will
become a good citizen without proper education and proper physical and mental
growth?"
The Women and Children Affairs Ministry organised the
function at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the city.
The chief adviser formally opened the Child Rights Week
2008. The theme of the week is: Creating a Protective Environment for Child
Development. The Child Rights Week 2008 is being observed in the country from
October 14 to 20 instead of September 29-October 5 in view of the holy Ramadan,
Eid-ul-Fitr and Durga Puja. Addressing the function, Chief Adviser Fakhruddin
Ahmed said ensuring safety and welfare of children and protecting their health
is vital to the nation's future. He called upon guardians, well-off people,
civil society members, child welfare-oriented government and non-government
institutions to take more effective initiatives for the welfare of
children."Let us work collectively to ensure a good future for the next
generation," he said. "The urgency to make a safe and good environment for
today's children -- the future of tomorrow -- will have to be felt by all of
us."

We think that the Chief Advisor has made someery
important points in this regard. We agree with all the points mentioned by
him.We however emphasise the need for a more comprehensive education for
children ( from class-1 to class 8 ) which must include very effective moral
content. They must learn , apart from formal religious education, about great
moral figures in history such as Muhammad (sm), Abubakr, Umar al Khattab,
Aysha, khadija and Fatima ( ra), Jesus, Buddha , Gandhi and some other great
moral figures. They do not require to know celebrities, they require to know
morally sound people through h their literature, history and religious courses.
Their life can influence deeply the young minds.

Another thing, not only the physical environment but
also moral environment should be purified, bad literature, bad films, bad
advertisements have to be controlled. The TV is playing very bad role in this
regard, their good work is destroyed by their other bad program. We have to do
something about it

Bismillah [IslamCity] Pakistan, China ink 11 agreements

2008-10-21 Thread waheedahsan
BEIJING: Pakistan and China Wednesday signed eleven agreements, MOUs
and protocols to enhance bilateral cooperation on sound footing in
diverse sectors including infrastructure, energy, telecommunication,
agriculture, industry, minerals, trade, disaster relief and space
technology.

The signing ceremony held, at the Great Hall of the People here, was
witnessed by President Asif Ali Zardari and his Chinese counterpart
Hu Jintao after an hour long one-on-one interaction between the two
leaders and two-hours long delegation level talks.

The two presidents will issue a Joint Statement (Thursday) reflecting
their resolve and commitment to carry the bilateral relations and
cooperation to new heights.

President Hu Jintao hosted a banquet in honour of the President and
his delegation at the Great Hall of the People after the delegations
level parleys and agreements-signing ceremony.

Earlier both sides agreed to strengthen strategic partnership in all
dimensions, reinvigorate the multi-faceted bilateral relations,
intensify economic cooperation and foster people to people contacts
in the coming years.

The two leaders and their delegations had wide-ranging discussions in
warm and friendly atmosphere characteristic of long-standing ties
between the two countries, Pakistan's Ambassador in China Masood Khan
told the media persons after the signing ceremony.

The talks emphasized upon retrieving the economic cooperation on
strong footing in multi dimensions in line with the mutuality of
interests and convergence of views in this regard.

The importance of President's engagements on Wednesday is also marked
by his threadbare interactions with the heads and chief executives of
major Chinese companies operating in different sectors including
banking, steel, mineral, cement, trade and other important segments
of the economy.

The President' visit to China has a special significance not only as
President Zardari's first official visit abroad, but also as the
first interaction between Pakistan's newly elected democratic
leadership and China's fourth Generation leadership that has overseen
China's dramatic economic development and progress.

During the talks, President Hu Jintao congratulated President Zardari
on his election as President of Pakistan. He expressed confidence
that the traditional brotherly relations between the two countries
would be further beefed up under President Zardari's leadership.

President Hu also thanked the people of Pakistan for their invaluable
assistance in the wake of the devastating earthquake that hit China's
Wenchuat province earlier this year.

President Zardari offered his felicitations to the government and
people of China on his tremendous success of the recently concluded
Beijing Olympic games. He stated that the impressive manner in which
the Olympic Games had been conducted underlined the giant strides
made by the Chinese nation.

The President also congratulated his Chinese counterpart on the
successful completion of the Shenzou VII Mission, terming it another
milestone in China's extraordinary scientific and technological
advance.

The two leaders expressed satisfaction over the growth of Pakistan-
China relations, since the diplomatic ties were first established
between the two countries.

They agreed that Pakistan China friendship has truly stood the test
of time and history and has emerged stronger with every important
change in the international, regional and domestic environment.

Strong, multi-faceted and long-term relationship with China is not
only the cornerstone of Pakistan's foreign policy, but the fervent
desire of its people. He conveyed the Pakistani people's appreciation
for the assistance rendered by China in Pakistan's socio-economic
development.

President Hu described Pakistan as China's brotherly country and time-
tested friend, said a news release issued on the occasion. He noted
in particular the fraternal ties that exist between the peoples of
the two countries.

Both President Zardari and President Hu appreciated the need for
strengthening good neighbourly relations and expanding mutually
beneficial cooperation. They stressed the importance of reinforcing
efforts for deepening the Pakistan-China Strategic Partnership of
Cooperation in the new circumstances.
It was agreed that increased trade and economic cooperation should be
centerpiece of the bilateral relationship. It was accordingly decided
to accelerate the implementation of the Five Year Development
Programme on Economic Cooperation.

Hu Jintao reiterated China's support for Pakistan's efforts in
safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He condemned
the recent terrorist atttacks in Pakistan and appreciated the
sacrifices being made by Pakistan in its struggle against the global
menace of terrorism, said the news release.

President Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan's resolve to continue fighting
terrorism and ext

Bismillah [IslamCity] Nice article about Parents. (Re-Post)

2008-10-21 Thread syed sadath
As Salam Walekum

Everyone please read this is a very nice article about parents

A conversation. ...this was narrated by an IAF pilot to IIT students on Special
seminar for HUMAN RELATION.

My parents left for our native place on Thursday and we went to the airport to
see them off. In fact, my father had never traveled by air before, so I just
took this opportunity to make him experience the same. In spite of being asked
to book tickets by train, I got them tickets on Jet Airways. The moment I
handed over the tickets to him, he was surprised to see that I had booked them
by air. The excitement was very apparent on his face, waiting for the time of
travel. Just like a school boy, he was preparing himself on that day and we all
went to the airport, right from using the trolley for his luggage, the baggage
check-in and asking for window seat and waiting restlessly for the security
check-in to happen. He was thoroughly enjoying himself and I, too, was overcome
with joy watching him experience all these things. As they were about to go in
for the security check-in, he walked up to me with tears in his eyes and
thanked me. He became very
emotional and it ! was not as if I had done something great but the fact that
this meant a great deal to him.  When he said thanks, I told him there was no
need to thank me. But later, thinking about the entire incident, I looked back
at my life. As a child how many dreams our parents have made come true. Without
understanding the financial situation, we ask for cricket bats, dresses, toys,
outings, etc.

Irrespective of their affordability, they have catered to all our needs. Did we
ever think about the sacrifices they had to make to accommodate many of our
wishes? Did we ever say thanks for all that they have done for us?
Same way, today when it comes to our children, we always think that we should
put them in a good school. Regardless of the amount of donation, we will ensure
that we will have to give the child the best, theme parks, toys, etc. But we
tend to forget that our parents have sacrificed a lot for our sake to see us
happy, so it is our responsibility to ensure that their dreams are realized and
what they failed to see when they were young, it is our responsibility to
ensure that they experience all those and their life  is complete. Many times,
when my parents had asked me some questions, I have actually answered back
without patience. When my daughter asks me something, I have been very polite
in answering. Now I realize how they would have felt at those moments. Let us
realize that old age is a second childhood and just as we take care of our
children, the same attention and same care need to be given to our parents and
elders. Rather than my dad saying
thank you to me, I would want to say sorry for making him wait so long for
this small dream. I do realize how much he has sacrificed for my sake and I
will do my best to give the best possible attention to all their wishes. Just
because they are old does not mean that they will have to give up everything
and keep sacrificing for their grandchildren also. They have wishes, too.

Take care of ur parents.

may endeavor to eliminate evil and enforce piety with all the power at our
command.
God keeps a constant watch over what constructive and reformative measures they
take and what havoc they bring about in the world…..

Bismillah [IslamCity] Humour and Philosophy

A good friend of mine explained to me recently the Greek translation
of the word: Philosophy
To my huge surprise I learned that it meant :
laughing at the Gods  ,  or humorist approach towards religion

My own and personal definition was so far :
in depth thinking  or  analytic-thinking

Of course my friend knew more than me ,
because he was a professor in philosophy
and I am not.

I had always much respect for humour and for philosophy, as well.
And I never could connect them besides the sincere belief that
both need a high degree of intelligence and creativity.

To make a long story short and to save your time as well
I suggest you watch this video-clip-link,
that explains to the ignorants , like me , what has happened
with the Stock Marketand how.

You will get instructed while laughing
which are both a blessing.,
just like philosophy and humour area blessing !!

Whatch.
