Bismillah [IslamCity] ruling: Explanation of verse 2:257 - disbelievers' awliyaa are taaghoot
Question # 118142: Commentary on the verse in which Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): But as for those who disbelieve, their Awliyaa' (supporters and helpers) are Taaghoot (false deities and false leaders), they bring them out from light into darkness [al-Baqarah 2:257] Question: Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): But as for those who disbelieve, their Awliyaa' (supporters and helpers) are Taaghoot (false deities and false leaders), they bring them out from light into darkness [al-Baqarah 2:257]. What is meant by light in this verse?. Answer: Praise be to Allaah. Allaah is the close friend of those who believe, and their support, help, and guide. He brings them forth from darkness -- the darkness of shirk, the darkness of sin and of innovation -- to the light of Tawheed, truth and faith, i.e., by means of His Messengers, and by means of His Books that He revealed. But the disbelievers of Quraysh and the disbelievers among the children of Israel and others, their supporters and helpers are the Taghoot or false deities and false leaders. The Taghoot are the devils among mankind and the jinn. The devils among mankind and the jinn are the helpers and supporters of the disbelievers; they bring them forth from the light of Tawheed to the darkness of shirk, ignorance, sin and innovation. So what is meant by light in this verse is: Tawheed, faith and guidance, and darkness means shirk, sin and innovation. We ask Allaah to keep us safe and sound. End quote. Bismillah [IslamCity] Masjid or Musalla
Masjid or Musalla By Abdurrahman ibn Yusuf Mangera POSTED: 29 RAMADAN 1425, 13 NOVEMBER 2004 What exactly is a masjid? Is there a difference between a masjid, musallâ, and jamât khâna, etc? These are questions which need detailed discussion. Nowadays, in the west, many Islamic Centers being managed include, among other things, a prayer hall, musallâ, or jamât khâna. Some communities rent an industrial unit, a store front, a house, or an apartment in which members of the Muslim community gather to perform congregational prayer (and in many cases social activities). Many communities actually have purchased property which they consider their masjid. Which of the above can technically be considered a masjid, and what are the related rulings? There is a difference between a masjid and a musallâ (or jamât khâna). A musalla (or jamât khâna) literally means a place where prayer is performed or where congregations are held, or worded differently, any temporary place in which worshippers congregate to perform their prayers. A musalla is also a place that has not been made an endowment or not yet intended to become a permanent masjid until the Last Day. In many cases, it is a temporary place from which the community will transfer once they find a more suitable, convenient, or permanent location. Though Muslims today commonly refer to their musallâ as their masjid, which the literal meaning of masjid (a place where the prostration is made) allows, a musallâ cannot technically be considered a legal [shar'i] masjid. Likewise the reward for prayer in a musallâ is not the same as in a proper masjid. The Masjid The masjid is a sanctified area, in which the rewards of prayers in congregation increase 25 to 27 times and where the mercy of Allah descends. It is considered the best of places by the Messenger of Allah (upon him be peace). Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: Masjids are the houses of Allah on the earth. They shine up to the inhabitants of the heavens just as the stars in the sky shine down to the inhabitants of the earth (Tabarânî). A true masjid, in the legal sense, is a place that has been permanently dedicated to Allah for the sake of prayer, recitation, and His remembrance. Any piece of land that has been dedicated permanently for the sake of congregational prayers will also become a proper masjid. The great Hanafî scholar of Egypt 'Allâma Tahtâwî states: Know that for it [piece of land] to be considered a masjid, a building [or structure] is not necessary. Tahtâwi, Kitâb al-Waqf, Ahkâm al-masjid and Qâdî Khân 4:712). A masjid is normally made into a waqf or endowment (sometimes difficult to establish depending on the legal connotations of endowment in some countries). However, once a masjid is erected, it will always be a masjid and the property of Allah. It cannot return to being the property of any person or community even those who may have paid for establishing it. 'Allâma Haskafî writes, If the inhabitants surrounding the masjid wither away and the masjid becomes desolate, it will still remain a masjid according to Imam Abû Hanîfa and Imam Abû Yûsuf until the Last Day, and the fatwâ is on this opinion (Hâwî al-Qudsî) (al-Durr al-Mukhtâr 3:371). The Messenger of Allah (upon him be peace) said, All the earth will disappear on the Day of Judgment with the exception of the masjids for they will join with one another (Suyûtî, Jâmi' al-Shaghîr). Designation of a Masjid A masjid (to become a masjid) must be formally designated by the committee or persons in charge. They do this by defining the area it will occupy and its boundaries. Along with this they can designate other adjoining areas to be used as bathrooms, lobby, storage, etc. The latter however will be considered the auxiliary areas of the masjid and, though part of the endowment, will not classify as masjid area that was previously defined by the committee. Therefore, it is possible, for example, to designate only the front half of a large hall (i.e. the first 10 rows) as the masjid, while the rest of the hall is classified as a musalla. Once the front half has been designated as such, then that part, both above and below it, becomes a shar'i masjid. This means that neither above it nor below it on any floor can be used for anything but as a masjid. Hence, all rulings that apply to a masjid will now apply to the exact same area directly below it on each of the lower floors (including the basement); and likewise on all floors above it. Constructing toilets, bathrooms, or holding any non-suitable activities above or below the masjid area will also be impermissible. However, it is permissible to have toilets or bathrooms constructed out of the boundary of the designated masjid area on any of the floors, since those areas will be considered the auxiliary area of the masjid and not technically the masjid itself. 'Allâma Haskafî writes in his well-accepted text al-Durr
Bismillah [IslamCity] Hijab ban in Australia
Hijab ban in Australia Please vote below, it takes 2 seconds Do you support calls to ban hijabs, helmets and hoodies in shops? Vote NO : http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/poll/1,,661-5037790,00.html Hume: No to hijab ban HUME shopping centres have dismissed calls by a national retailers association to ban women wearing hijabs or burqas in shops and banks. The Queensland-based retail group said head and face coverings made it hard to identify criminals. Centro Properties Group corporate marketing manager Mitchell Brown said Centro, which manages the Meadow Heights Shopping Centre, did not have any plans to introduce a ban on traditional Muslim dress. ``We do not have any shopping centres where hijabs or burqas have presented problems,'' Mr Brown said. Broadmeadows Shopping Centre manager Rosemary Kent said her centre ``did not have any dress code restrictions in relation to these items of clothing''. Executive director of the retail association Scott Driscoll said the ban would be in line with motorcycle riders removing their helmets when entering a bank or shop. Mr Driscoll said a new law was needed to ensure burqas, sunglasses, baseball caps and hooded jumpers were all removed when entering shops. Muslim Community Cooperative spokesman Nail Aykan said the proposed ban would be absurd, and his Coburg-based group had never received complaints about the hijab. ``Hypothetically, if someone in a hijab robbed a bank it's not because of the hijab but because the person is a criminal,''Mr Aykan said. He said about a third of Muslim women in Hume wore a hijab, which covers their hair, and about one in a thousand women wore a niqab or burqa, which cover the entire face. Ethnic Communities' Council of Victoria chairperson Sam Afra commended the Victorian Government for rejecting the ban. He said the suggestion was discriminatory. http://leader-news.whereilive.com.au/news/story/hume-no-to-hijab-ban/ Hijab row leads to death threats THE Brisbane radio announcer who suggested the hijab be removed in banks and shops has received death threats. 4BC announcer Michael Smith on Wednesday said wearing a face-covering such as some Muslim women do posed a security risk because it made identification difficult in the event of a crime. Wearing a face-veil in certain places, such as shopping centres, was also offensive and scared little children, he said. In a recorded threat on the station website a caller says you're head is on a plate (expletive beeped). You're going to be dead soon (expletive beeped), racist bitch''. Station general manager David McDonald today said most of the calls seemed to emanate from Sydney and he said Smith's original comments had been taken out of context. This has been really blown out of total proportion,'' Mr McDonald said. There was never any racism in this at all. There was nothing about religion, it was all about purely security and safety issues.'' Mr McDonald said Mr Smith's call was only to show the face, not to remove headwear. A lot of criminals have used this to sort of disguise themselves.'' Mr Smith, an ex-policeman, was aware of the trauma robberies cause, Mr McDonald said. It was never about racism. Complaints, both to official channels and those phoned in to the radio station, were based on media interpretations of Mr Smith's comments rather than the comments themselves, the general manager said. That is extremely disappointing that it's been hijacked for other purposes.'' Mr McDonald said upset staff had been counselled and security stepped up. On the station's website Mr Smith defends his comments. It seems this country's media finds it difficult to talk sensibly about certain topics,'' today's entry reads. I've been branded a racist in writing by a major national television network who should know better. ``How could anyone say that my comments were racist?'' Queensland police acknowledged that a complaint had been made by the radio station and said it was under investigation. http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0,21498,24922112-5005361,00.html?from=public_rss Look at these pigs trying to ban the hijab because it's hard to identify criminals. Do they have a problem with hijabis robbing stores?!!! No, but that's the only excuse they could behind. If he wasn't a racist pig then why would he say the face veils were offensive since his initial excuse was security reason.

Bismillah [IslamCity] A thought
As Salaamu Alaikum Choose FeelingsIf your days seem filled with unwanted negative feelings, there is only one cure. When they come, choose them. Don't ask why, don't wonder how, don't fight them and never put yourself down for having them. But most of all never blame someone else for how you feel. If you do, it means you are still fast asleep and your choice is to be a victim. When the feelings come, even big disturbing emotional feelings say, I choose this feeling and know it comes because of something you have thought or done in the past, perhaps a certain belief that you have learned or an attachment that is threatened. Choice does not mean you want the feelings, but it does mean you are taking responsibility for them. And that is the beginning of self mastery. It is the first step to the healing and resolving of your emotions. But only the first step. Try this today and then ask yourself what the next step might be. Bismillah [IslamCity] Antisemitism : Language and history
Antisemitism Language and history * Editorial * The Guardian, Saturday 7 February 2009 Distinguishing between anti-Zionism and antisemitism has become a growth industry for every university department of cultural criticism. It is time the debate came out into the open, away from the classrooms and the academic journals. On average, there is an antisemitic attack of some kind every single day in the UK: graffiti, vandalism, arson and occasionally actual physical assault. Jewish schools have been granted extra protection. The Community Security Trust, which monitors incidents, issues frequent advice and warnings. According to the Trust the number of such incidents has risen again since Christmas, and the assault on Gaza. The government acknowledges that there is a growing problem. Responding to a two-year investigation by an all-party committee, it was decided that from this April, every police force will be required to keep a record of antisemitic offences. This is not because - as some extremists on the right and possibly the left might claim - the government is in the pocket of a Jewish lobby. There is no Jewish lobby in the conspiratorial sense that the slur implies, and to assert that there is can only be the result of the kind of racism that has scarred Europe from tsarist Russia to the fascists and Stalinists of the 1930s through to the jihadists now. To present all Jewish people as conterminous with Israel and its supporters is a mistake with potentially terrible consequences. It aligns ethnicity with a political perspective, and it is simply racist. The government has also recognised that there are specific indications that, unlike other forms of racism, antisemitism is being accepted within parts of society instead of being condemned. The left fought a long and honourable battle for racial equality, but some within its ranks now risk sloppily allowing their horror of Israeli actions to blind them to antisemitism. There is an ill-considered tendency to reach for the language of Nazism in order to excoriate Israel, regardless of its impact on the climate of tolerance. Last month, a rally in defence of the people of Gaza that included verbal attacks on the so-called Nazi tendencies of Israel was followed by actual attacks on Jewish targets in north London. That is not, of course, to say we should not criticise Israel and judge it by the same criteria as any other state. It is chilling to see kill Arabs graffitied on homes in Gaza. But the style in which that is condemned must not create the climate that allows scrawling kill Jews on synagogues in Manchester. For that is what is at stake: what might merely be insensitivity can, cumulatively, erode the conditions that foster racial tolerance. For they depend not only on the laws, but on a respect for all people's sensitivities.
Bismillah [IslamCity] UK activists boycott Israel
UK activists boycott Israel UK will import many of its Valentines flowers from Israel Saturday, 07, Feb 2009 12:03 By Laura Miller Demonstrators are planning nationwide protests today to boycott the sale of Israeli goods on UK high-streets. The national Boycott Israeli Goods (BIG) campaign, led by a coalition of pro-Palestine and anti-war groups, aims to impact on Valentines Day sales of flowers, many of which Israel exports to the UK. David Wilson, spokesperson for Stop the War, one of the groups supporting the campaign, told politics.co.uk: Valentines Day is the perfect day for love to all, and for people to remember those suffering abroad. He compared the action to the boycott of South African goods during apartied. Apartied herded one people into a caged area of the country. What is Gaza if it's not comparable to that? he said. The largest protest is expected in Middlesex at Carmel-Agrexco, the Israeli national exporter of fruit and vegetables and importer of large quantities of flowers to the UK. All the large supermarket chains will be targeted, as well as Barlays bank and Marks and Spencers, which has incurred heavy criticism in the past from pro-Palestine campaigners over claims the company's owner, Phillip Green, supports Israel through business deals and investments. Speaking to politics.co.uka spokesperson for M S denied claims the chain has a political interest in importing goods from Israel. We don't have a special relationship with Israel, we have a relationship with individual farmers, she said. At the moment we don't even source very much from Israel, maybe ten out of 500 lines. Palestine Solidarity Campaign, one of the main organisers of today's protests, is also backed in the BIG campaign by the Jewish Boycott Israeli Goods group. Mark Gardner of the Community Security Trust, an organisation that acts to prevent and record violence against British Jews, said that while Jewish participation in the BIG campaign helped represent the community's diversity, it also added to the negative affect such campaigns have on British Jews. British Jews have no control or influence over what's happening in the Middle East. Campaigns like this can have the best motives in the world but it doesn't change the negative impact of the Jewish community, he told politics.co.uk. The involvement of a small number of vocal Jews allows others to point the finger at the large silent, blameless majority. This affects Jewish morale, because it encourages people to regard Jews as moral reprobabtes. Outside No 10 Downing Street on Sunday a separate protest, Children for the Children of Gaza, has been organised to show solidarity with the children in Gaza and Palestine on the whole.
Bismillah [IslamCity] Rise of the moderates
Rise of the moderates Out of the rubble of Gaza, global Jewish dissent could be emerging as a more potent force * * * Antony Lerman * The Guardian, Friday 6 February 2009 Each and every Jew who protested as a Jew against the Gaza war had a personal Jewish imperative for doing so. Some simply expressed dismay; most demanded action to end the carnage. To say that we failed is neither an expression of despair nor a statement that dissent wasn't worthwhile. Realism suggests that it was inevitable. Let's be clear: diaspora and Israeli Jewish support for the war was extensive - and extremely dispiriting. It raises the question: critical Jewish voices may have increased, but can we ever trigger decisive change in mainstream Jewish opinion? An unsentimental look at developments may give reason for hope. First, there's been activity in many countries and support for Jewish peace groups has increased. European Jews for a Just Peace, a 10-country federation of such organisations, reports numerous initiatives in Europe. Independent Jewish Voices, Jews for Justice for Palestinians and other UK groups demonstrated, lobbied, placed newspaper ads and joined demonstrations. IJV groups in Canada and Australia issued statements. Jewish and Israeli protesters in Toronto, Montreal and Boston occupied Israeli consulates. US peace groups have been increasingly active. Together with activity by Israeli groups, this amounts to an undercurrent of protest that is rattling establishment Jewish leadership. Second, some groups of Jews have taken significant stands. On 11 January, the Observer made front-page news of a letter from rabbis, academics and prominent community figures at the centre of UK Jewish life, calling for a ceasefire. In Germany, a letter from 35 supporters of the group Jewish Voice for a Just Peace, demanding an end to the murder in Gaza, was published on 17 January in the Süddeutsche Zeitung - a major newspaper in a country where expressing public criticism of Israel is difficult for anyone, let alone a group of Jews. But most significant was the strong anti-war stand taken by J Street, the new American liberal pro-peace, pro-Israel lobby, which is effectively challenging the influential, rightwing Israel lobby Aipac. Heavily criticised by Rabbi Eric Yoffie, a prominent US peace camp leader, for being profoundly out of touch with Jewish sentiment, J Street stuck to its guns and attracted increased support. It then warmly welcomed President Obama's appointment of George Mitchell as Middle East envoy, positioning itself to have clout in Washington. The positive consequences for further legitimising Jewish dissent in the US and beyond could be crucial. Third, there are signs of underlying disquiet in the middle ground of normally solid pro-Israel Jewish opinion. On 2 January, Anshel Pfeffer wrote in Ha'aretz: Extremely disturbed and hurt by the level of civilian deaths and destruction ... [these Jews] say, there must, there has to be another way of doing this. And they live with those doubts, often unexpressed, even among families and close friends, because the worst thing they find is that others around them don't seem to discern between the different nuances, and can't find in themselves compassion for the dead and wounded on the other side. Pfeffer is not alone in sensing this mood, which suggests Israel is perilously close to the line beyond which even some of its strongest supporters cannot go. Two encouraging conclusions can be drawn. First, although it seems most Jews shrink from the truth and embrace the Orwellian war is peace propaganda, doubts are growing. For Jewish dissenters who seek an appropriate language to persuade mainstream Jewish opinion that Israel is going in the wrong direction, the effort may produce results. Second, dissenting peace groups can be stubbornly independent and make a virtue out of minor differences. But effective coordination during the Gaza war proved empowering. It's surely worthwhile attempting to create a critical mass, united around key objectives, and expressed in language that can connect with mainstream Jewish opinion. Israel is heavily dependent on what Jews think. Its leaders turn to their support whenever they face an internal crisis or need cover for some new military adventure. But it's now not too far-fetched to think Jewish opinion could turn decisively against Israel's current path. This would shake the government and help change Middle East realities. So, out of the rubble of Gaza and the political failure it represents, Jewish dissent may emerge a more potent force. A final cautionary note: Jewish opposition to the Gaza war was not qualitatively different from anyone else's. And it's not more important than the horrendous experience of the people of Gaza. But were that opposition to be translated into a rolling tide of Jewish opinion, it may have a moderating influence on Israel. This would benefit Palestinians, who deserve an

Whenever the little offspring (i.e. the calf) came close to the mother camel, her milk would pour forth because of the great abundance of blessings and abundance of goodness. So I (Ibn Jad'aan) looked at one of my she camels with her calf and I remembered my poor neighbour who had seven young daughters. So I said to myself, by Allah I will give this camel and her calf as Sadaqah (charity) to my neighbour - and he recited the Ayah where Allah said in (Surah Al-imraan: 92): By no means Shall you Attain piety righteousness unless you spend in Allah's cause of which that you love And the most beloved from amongst my cattle, to me, is this she-camel. So I took her along with her calf and knocked on the door of my neighbour. I told him to accept it as a gift from me. I saw his face glooming with happiness and he was unable to utter anything in response. So he benefitted from its milk and used to load wood on its back, awaiting for its offspring to grow up in order to sell them. Subsequently, he gained great good from this camel. After the spring had passed, the dry summer came with its drought, and so the Bedouins began looking for water and grass. We gathered our belongings and left our places looking for water and the duhool (plural of duhul) or 'holes' in the earth, situated underground leading to water traps underneath the ground. Their openings are on top of the ground, as the Bedouins know of very well. I (i.e. Ibn Jad'aan) entered into one of these holes so as to bring some water to drink... Dr Saleh continued: and his (Ibn Jad'aan's) three sons were waiting for him outside the hole. However he did not return. His three sons waited for him for one, two and three days and finally became hopeless. They said maybe he was stung by a snake and died or he was lost under the earth and destroyed. They (and we seek refuge in Allah from this) waited for his destruction. Why? Due to greed in order to distribute his inheritance. So they returned home and divided what he had left, amongst themselves. Then they remembered that their father (Ibn Jad'aan) gave a she-camel to their poor neighbour. They went to their neighbour and told him that it is better that he give them back the she-camel and take another camel in replace of it, otherwise they will take it by force and he will be left with nothing. The neighbour complained that he would report them to their father. So they informed him that he had died. He inquired as to how and where Ibn Jad'aan had died, and why they hadn't told him. They then explained how he entered into one of these holes underground in the desert and did not come out. The neighbour said: By Allah take me to this place and take your she-camel and do whatever you do with it and I don't want your camel in return! They took him and when he saw the place, he went and brought a rope, lit a candle, tied it outside the duhul (the hole) and then stepped into it crawling on his back until he reached the places whereby he could crawl and roll. Eventually the smell of moisture became closer and then all of sudden he heard the sound of a man by the water groaning and moaning. He went closer and closer towards this sound in the darkness putting his hand out all over until his hand fell onto the man (Ibn Jad'aan). He checked his breath and he was still breathing after one week! He pulled him out covering his eyes so as to protect him from the sunlight. He took with him some dates, moistened them in water and gave it to him to drink. He then carried him on his back and took him to his house and life gradually return to this man whilst his sons didn't know. He then asked him: Tell me, by Allah, one week while you were underground and you didn't die?! I will tell you something strange... Ibn Jidaan explained: ...when I went down there I got lost and waves took me from all directions and I said to myself I'd better stay close to this water that I have reached. So I started to drink from it, but hunger had no mercy and water does not suffice. Then after three days hunger intensified on me and took me from all parts. While I was lying on my back I surrendered myself to Allah and put all my affairs in his

Bismillah [IslamCity] Hijab In Quran
Bismillah hir Rahmaan Nir Raheem Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatuallahi wa barakatuhu http://hijab.muslimpad.com/category/hijab-in-quran/ Surah 24:An-Nur, Verse 30 Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: and Allah is well acquainted with all that they do. And Surah 24:An-Nur, Verse31 And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily-Eye,bangles,bracelets etc) appear thereof; that they should draw their *veils *over their *bosoms* and not display their beauty except to their husbands their fathers their husbands’ fathers their sons their husbands’ sons their brothers or their brothers’ sons or their sisters’ sons or their women or the slaves whom their right hands possess or male servants free of physical needs or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah that ye may attain Bliss. Now taking selective part of the verse which is needed for explanation: And Say to the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts) and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent (Eyes, bangles, bracelets etc), and to draw their *veils* all over Juyubihinna (bosoms) ……… The Arabic text is, “Wa qul li al-muminat yaghdudna min absarihinna wa yahfazna furujahunna wa laa yubdina zenatahunna illa maa zahara min haa wal-yadribna bi *khumurihinna* alaa “*juyub hinna*”. This is translated as, “And say to the faithful women to lower their gazes, and to guard their private parts, and not to display their adornment except what is apparent of it, and to extend[draw] their khumur to cover their juyub”. First, the word “khumur”plural of khimar[It is a piece of cloth which is used by a woman to cover her head]. In this verse Allah subhanawatala mentions khimaar for the first time, before this verse when surah Ahzab’s verse was revealed with hijab commandment,Jalabeeb[jilbab] is the word mentioned.Jalabeeb (plural of Jalbaab), a loose outer garment that covers all a woman’s body. Though Jalabeeb fulfills the criteria of veiling yet in surah Nur [24] further clarification is explained. Because women wore long outer garment[jalabeeb] along with khimaar[head scarf].Even though khimar was’nt mentioned in surah Ahzab’s verse.Their khimar didnt covered bosom so Allah commanded them to extend khimar to bosom, while doing so it has to be pulled from the head ,which will fall of face, then neck then bosom. And jalabeb falls on rest of the body from sholders to feet. Hence a complete covering including face[excluding eyes].Prophets wives were commanded first to cover completely, they always used khimar till the end of their lives, and it always covered their faces along with bodies. Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith 1829 Narrated byAisha, Ummul Mu’minin Riders would pass us when we accompanied the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) while we were in the sacred state (wearing ihram). When they came by us, one of us would let down her outer garment[Jilbab] from her head over her face, and when they had passed on, we would uncover our faces. *Note:While one cannot deny the support of Hadith that indicate that the Prophet’s wives wore khimar, one must realize that they also covered their faces at all times in the presence of non-mahram men. Here in the state of Ihram they cover temporarily with Jilbab,in normal circumstanes they used khimaar to cover faces, neck, bosom as taught in suran nur 24 verse 31.This is a proof that believeing women also followed suit. Another clarification:The word “juyub”. This is the plural of the word “jayb”, which means “bosom”. The word is used in Arabic to refer to the breastpocket of a shirt. For cross reference see Surah al-Qasas ayah 32 describes Moses as putting his hand in his “jayb”, and this means his breast, not his “body, face, neck and bosom” so “juyub” cannot be translated as such as such but bosom only. Allah knows best. Surah Isra 17 verse 80 Say: O my Lord! let my entry be by the Gate of Truth and Honor and likewise my exit by the Gate of Truth and Honor; and grant me from Thy Presence an authority to aid (me). Ameen,Thumameen. Transliteration :Wa qur rabbi adkhilni mudkhala sidqiw wa akhrijni mukhraja sidqiw wa-j'al li mil ladunka sulta_nan nasira_(n). Al-Tirmidhi HadithHadith 2482 Narrated by AbuHurayrah (May Allah be pleased with him) Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) used to say, O Allah, grant me benefit in what Thou hast taught me, teach me what will benefit me, and increase my knowledge. Praise be to Allah in all
Bismillah [IslamCity] part 3: Al-Islaam the Religion of Peace and Mercy
asalamualikum - part 3 - visit the thread to read last 2 parts: http://www.albaseerah.org/forum/showthread.php?t=609 *Al-Islaam the Religion of Peace and Mercy by Shaikh Abdul Azeez As-Sa'eed Delivered on July 23rd, 2005* *Religion of Moderation* And from the characteristics of mercy in this religion is its moderation and being in the middle: so there is not extreme toughness nor extreme leniency, nor extreme harshness, nor extreme softness. This moderation and being in the middle is as Allaah said: 'And We have made you a middle nation.' وَكَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطاً *{Thus We have made you a just (and the best) nation…}* [Al-Baqarah 2:143] So when we look into this religion and its legislation we find it has made a way for the human being to satisfy all of his inborn desires. It has not legislated a monk type of lifestyle of being cut off of everything and just worshipping and doing nothing but this. Just, as it does not legislate for a person to be a body without a soul, that it does not worship its Lord and can't find ease within worshipping Him. The human in this religion is to *seek*, that is the human, the individual in Islaam, is supposed to seek his portion of the world, but one should not make this seeking a reason for not looking towards the Hereafter and working for it, and putting forth good actions and a reason for its shortcoming toward the rights of the Lord. This is as Allaah said: وَابْتَغِ فِيمَا آتَاكَ اللَّهُ الدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ وَلا تَنسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَأَحْسِن كَمَا أَحْسَنَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْكَ وَلا تَبْغِ الْفَسَادَ فِي الأَرْضِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يُحِبُّ الْمُفْسِدِينَ *{But seek, with that (wealth) which Allâh has bestowed on you, the home of the Hereafter, and forget not your portion of lawful enjoyment in this world; and do good as Allâh has been good to you, and seek not mischief in the land. Verily, Allâh likes not the Mufsidûn (those who commit great crimes and sins, oppressors, tyrants, mischief-makers, corrupters).}* [Al-Qasas 28:77] *The Reward of Good deeds are multiplied* And from the mercy of this religion is that a good deed is rewarded and is multiplied ten times to more than that. For every good deed the reward is multiplied ten times, as for the sin it will only be written as one sin, as Allaah said: مَن جَاء بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا وَمَن جَاء بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَلاَ يُجْزَى إِلاَّ مِثْلَهَا وَهُمْ لاَ يُظْلَمُونَ *{Whoever brings a good deed (Islâmic Monotheism and deeds of obedience to Allâh and His Messenger صلى الله عليه و سلم) shall have ten times the like thereof to his credit, and whoever brings an evil deed (polytheism, disbelief, hypocrisy, and deeds of disobedience to Allâh and His Messenger صلى الله عليه و سلم) shall have only the recompense of the like thereof, and they will not be wronged.}* [Al-An'aam 6:160] These are some of the characteristics of mercy in this Religion. They are characteristics that show this Religion is the *Religion of truth* and everyone should believe in, and follow it. And it has become clear from what has preceded that this Messenger and His Message have come as a mercy for all of creation, and in them is a *mercy for all* – the believers and the non-believers, even the birds, the animals and the insects. So because of this the scholars, mercy be upon them, see this Religion as a river flowing between the people – whoever drinks from it his thirst will be quenched and whoever does not then he stays thirsty. *A Mercy for all the Creation* So for this, when the Messenger and the Message have come as a mercy for all, we find that in the religious texts there is a clarification of mercy for all of the creation, we see this in Allaah's سبحانه و تعالى saying concerning the Messenger: الَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ الرَّسُولَ النَّبِيَّ الأُمِّيَّ الَّذِي يَجِدُونَهُ مَكْتُوباً عِندَهُمْ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَالإِنْجِيلِ يَأْمُرُهُم بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَاهُمْ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْخَبَآئِثَ وَيَضَعُ عَنْهُمْ إِصْرَهُمْ وَالأَغْلاَلَ الَّتِي كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ *{Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write (i.e. Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) whom they find written with them in the Taurât (Torah-Deut, xviii 15) and the Injîl (Gospel-John, xiv 16) with them, – he commands them for Al-Ma'rûf (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism and all that Islâm has ordained); and forbids them from Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism of all kinds, and all that Islâm has forbidden); he allows them as lawful At-Tayyibât (i.e. all good and lawful as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons and foods), and prohibits them as unlawful Al-Khabâ'ith (i.e. all evil and unlawful as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons and foods), he releases them from their heavy burdens (of Allâh's Covenant with the Children of Israel), and from the fetters (bindings) that were upon them…}* [Al-A'raaf 7:157] And the Shaikh continues: This is the mercy for all of the
Bismillah [IslamCity] Court Declares Qadeer Khan A Free Man
Editorial Court Declares Qadeer Khan A Free Man d News agencies have reported that a Pakistani court yesterday ruled that nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan, father of the country's atomic bomb, was a free man, five years after he was effectively put under house arrest. The chief justice of the Islamabad High Court, Sardar Mohammad Aslam, made the decision after hearing lawyers representing government and the nuclear scientist in a closed doors session on Friday. The petitioner is declared a free citizen and writ petition is disposed off, said a written order issued by the court.Khan has been effectively under house arrest in Islamabad since February 2004, when he confessed on television to sending nuclear secrets to Iran, Libya and North Korea, although he retracted his remarks later.Friday's court decision comes just weeks after the United States unveiled sanctions against Khan, 12 associates and three firms linked to his nuclear proliferation network.Speaking to reporters in the grounds of his villa in Islamabad on Friday, the scientist thanked President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani for his freedom. Asked if he would be able to move freely, he replied: As far as I have been told, I will go anywhere in Pakistan without any restrictions and I will get whatever security that I had with me previously. If I want to travel abroad I will have to seek permission from the government, he said. As we all know, Mr Kadir Khan is a great scientist who is the father of Pakitan’s nuclear weapon development..It ws necwssary for Pakitan to have nuclear capability to match India .It was not possible for Pakistan to match in India in conventional war fare.India now thinks a hundred times before it can launch an attack on Paistan. There would have been a sure war between these two powers after Mumbai episode if Pakistan would not have nuclear capacity. Abdul Qadir Khan has suffered a lot during Mosharraf regime. He ws forced to confess some thing because Mosharraf government thought that confession by Abdul Kadir Khan would make Pakistan free of US allegation that Pakistan has passed to others knowledge of nuclear technology. These were all rubbish to punish this great scientist and Pakistan. We welcome free Abdul Kadir.
