I noticed I was using an old version of gradle (1.4 from Ubuntu 14.04) so I downloaded the latest binary version from https://gradle.org/releases , unpacked it and added its /bin/ directory to my $PATH It worked for me. You should be able to see this under Settings > Device / Apps > Android System Webview. For example, my installed version is 58.0.3029.83. If you look under the Network tab on the inspector, do the various resources linked to in the above HTML actually load, or do they generate errors?
