[jira] [Created] (NIFI-12712) Create migration tool for exporting NiFi flows to MiNiFi

2024-02-01 Thread Ferenc Kis (Jira)
Ferenc Kis created NIFI-12712:
-

Summary: Create migration tool for exporting NiFi flows to MiNiFi
 Key: NIFI-12712
 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NIFI-12712
 Project: Apache NiFi
  Issue Type: New Feature
  Components: C2, MiNiFi
Reporter: Ferenc Kis

With deprecating templates and NiFi and config yaml in MiNiFi, currently the
only flow exporting method between NiFi and MiNiFi is to design the flow in
NiFi and then use the whole flow.json.gz in MiNiFi

This is quite inconvenient, so we need to implement a more appropriate way:

The process should be;
 * export the flow from NiFi (process group)
 * use minifi-toolkit to convert the exported process group to MiNiFi
flow.json.raw

The goal is to implement the feature in minifi-toolkit, which allows to convert
NiFi exported flows to MiNiFi's flow.json.raw

@scottyaslan this input in question isn't wrapped in a ``.
Once we do that, the invisible text issue goes away.

refs/heads/main from Mark Payne

NIFI-12693: Moved notification of python process that a Processor was removed
to a background (virtual) thread. Also noted in testing that in one instance a
Python Processor never became
valid because it had cached property descriptors before the processor was fully
initialized, so updated code to ensure that we do not cache values before
initialization is completed.

This closes #8315

Thanks @joewitt and thanks @rfellows for the reviews! I have pushed a fix
for the extension creation dialog input field styles. I also noticed that the
canvas search input field was experiencing the same issue so I fixed it too.
All other inputs LGTM ATM.

Review Comment:
This color stands out a bit too much. In "light-mode" icons using this class
are almost disabled looking. This bright blue/teal doesn't convey that same
feeling. for start and stop it is ok, since those are green/red when non-zero
so it is obvious the teal color isn't it, but the disabled and other icons it
isn't as obvious by the coloring of the icon.

Review Comment:
This color is used for the .zero class. If we look around the code we see
that is used for the flow status icons and the canvas component icons when
their counts are '0'. The tricky part for these colors is that I think we need
to better meet color contrast ratios especially in dark mode. I am open to
suggestions on what we want this color to be. I think it kind of follows your
comment above about the red stopped icon being too bright as well. Maybe we
just need to mute these colors a bit in dark mode?

Do you think the red stopped icon in light mode is too muted?

When a disabled button is directly on a really dark background it is hard to
read.

When a disabled button is next to a mat-stroked-button they both appear
disabled.

Should we be using a mat-stroked-button?

[jira] [Commented] (NIFI-12675) Python Processor erroring when creating custom relationships

2024-02-01 Thread ASF subversion and git services (Jira)

ASF subversion and git services commented on NIFI-12675:

Commit a587bad71169fef91dbd2d1302a26f43e6efc182 in nifi's branch
refs/heads/main from Mark Payne

NIFI-12675 Fixed custom Relationships with Python Processors

Fixed bug that caused custom Relationships not to work on Python Processors.
Added unit test to verify. Also addressed issue in
PythonControllerInteractionIT where it did not wait for Processors to become
valid (originally this wasn't necessary but when we refactored Processors to
initialize in the background this was overlooked).

This closes #8316
