JDK1.2

1998-06-10 Thread Daniel Werner

Hi,
Thanks for porting Java to Linux, it's great! I was wondering when JDK
1.2 for linux will be ported and if it will support Java3D?

Thanks,
Daniel Werner

Bug tracking

1998-06-10 Thread Rob Nugent

I have tried out the bug tracking tool and I think it is rather
splendid.

Thanks for setting this up.

A couple of questions:

1) What happens to my bug reports next ? (They seem to have been
"incoming"
for a couple of days now)

2) How do I add a note to a bug ? I have some extra info, but when I
tried the
obvious things, I didn't have appropriate priviledges as the 'guest'
user.

Thanks!
Rob

TYA 0.7 / new release of JIT for Linux

1998-06-10 Thread Albrecht Kleine

Hi,

I've just released the seventh public release of
the JIT compiler add on to Linux-x86-port of JDK1.1.6

to tya home site:
  ftp://gonzalez.cyberus.ca/pub/Linux/java/tya07.tgz

and mirrored to:
  ftp://ftp.unix-ag.uni-kl.de/incoming/tya07.tgz
  ftp://ftp.java-linux.org/pub/incoming/tya07.tgz

(Maybe the ftp admins at both mirror sites will
move the tya file to somewhere else.)

TYA 0.7 once again has increased speed (mostly in invocation,
so stuff like "Iview" or "Hanoi" etc. will run 10-20 % faster.)
I have decreased compiled code size similar (up to 20%).
Also I've added again some very important bugfixes.

At this occasion I want to say THANK YOU to
all contributors and beta testers.

Enjoy,
Albrecht
