Re: Anyone using Netbeans Gandalf(3.0)
I'm using it on a RH6 box. I have the env variable JDK_HOME set to point to the jdk, and thats it (besides PATH). Candalf runs "out of the box" for me, but very slow. It runs WO native threads and JIT. I tried using JIT and it seems to work, but still, it is to slow to use. Re: Bug in v1.1.7_v3 Native Threads?

This is exactly the behavior we're seeing - looks like native threads in 1.1.7_v3 are simply broken. Juergen says that he doesn't have this problem with the (yet to be released) 1.1.8 build. It could be that 1.1.7_v3 was compiled against glibc 2.0 and I'm using glibc 2.1. I did manage to compile JDK1.2 (from source!) against Lesstif and it seems to be working fine. We are having some strange crashes in the socket libraries which I hope I can start to debug myself now... no JIT in JDK 1.2 for sparc-linux?
Hi, as I´ve seen the jdk 1.2 pre v3 is now available for sparc-linux. I just downloaded it and installed it on my sparc 5 station at my office. But then I had to find out, that the JIT-Compiler is missing in that JDK. The file libsunwjit.so exist in that tar-file, but it has a length of 0 bytes. Does anyone know if it is intentional that the JIT-Compiler is missing in that version for sparc-linux or was this an error by building the jdk 1.2? If it is possible I would like to get an version of jdk 1.2 with JIT-Compiler, because without java-programs on my old sparc 5 station are very, very slow.
