xmodmap ignored by JDK1.2.2

2001-09-06 Thread Ripalda-Marin, Miguel-Angel

Hi,

afterwards, I had to upgrade my RedHat 7.0 to 7.1... where I could install
my Blackdown's JDK1.1.8. I work with a 'special keyboard' where some chars
are depicted when typing Shift+Arrows:
.- Shitf+Left='¿'
.- Shift+Right='?'
.- Shift+Up='-'
.- Shift+Down='_'

I accomplish this by writing my own xmodmap conf. file... I have to deal
with Meta and Shift keycodes but it works... but, surprisingly, when I tried
to run my app over Blackdown's JDK1.2.2... it didn't work! It ignores the
Shift+Right/Up/Down combinations, but Shit+Left works fine... what's
happening? I'm starting to doubt seriously about Java's Code portability...
anyone could help me?

Best regards,

Re: Pid of the JVM

2001-09-06 Thread Duane Kehoe

ps ax will work you just have to look for your specific app or you can try :

ps ax | grep [program name] will work.

For example I want to see what pids mozilla is currently using I type

ps ax | grep mozilla

and get back:

4365 ?S 8:10 /usr/local/mozilla/mozilla-bin
4366 ?S 0:00 /usr/local/mozilla/mozilla-bin
4367 ?S 0:03 /usr/local/mozilla/mozilla-bin
4368 ?S 0:00 /usr/local/mozilla/mozilla-bin
5057 ?S 0:00 /usr/local/mozilla/mozilla-bin
5343 pts/5S 0:00 grep mozilla
