Blackdown and IBM

2001-11-27 Thread Olivier Rossel

Wow.
I tested IBM jdk (1.3). It is MUCH faster than Sun's or Blackdown's, on
Swing stuff (under Linux, at least).
Did they choose a different technological solution, or what?

Yes - the JVM is their own.

Mangled Drag And Drop Cursor

2001-11-27 Thread Wilkinson, Robert

Under Caldera Open
Linux Server the cursor that comes up during a drag and drop operation is
clearly incorrect. The image is about 1/2 " by 1" and bears no relation to the
look of the cursor under windows. I get the same thing whether using the
Blackdown distribution or the distribution supplied with the Caldera
distribution. Is this a glib issue. Any help appreciated.

Rob

Red Hat on Intel JMF and RTP Support for Audio

Is there anyone who has successfully set up a JMF server application using
RedHat Linux and RTP?

Did you compare IBM's VM with the HotSpot Client or the HotSpot Server
VM?

They have their own VM.

Yes, they look different but they all should be 32x32 pixels. See

How did you install the 1.3.1 plugin? With a symlink to
javaplugin.so?

java_vm should not be invoked directly. The plugin uses java_vm
internally and should set LD_LIBRARY_PATH automatically.

Please set JAVA_PLUGIN_TRACE=1 and send the output you get when plugin
starts up.

JRE for Linux

2001-11-27 Thread Marc Petit-Huguenin

Hi,

Now that javac can be redistributed with the JRE
(http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/jre/), is it planned to release a Debian
package that contain this new files?

Thanks for your responses.

Well...I feel like a real moron. I didn't see anything that

99.9% of the time!

Turning it on solved the problem in Netscape. Thanks!

Unfortunately, it still doesn't work in Opera, 5.05TP1. Yes,

Hm, works fine here with "Opera 5.05TP1 for Linux - 20010807 Build 030
