[JAWS-Users] Re: Backing up files and folders
Hi Don, Like everything else in Windows, there are several ways to do this. The quickest way, would be to use E-backup. If you download E-backup, be sure to download the scripts for it as well. They are not essential for using the program, but do make it a little smoother to navigate. Another way is to simply copy the files and folders that you want, but you will have to do a little digging for them. As David mentioned, you can download the program from the list website, as well as the scripts, and tutorials. Also, you can listen to the podcast that Sarah mentioned for doing the job manually. I use the beta 2 version and don't have those problems. The only problems I have is getting it to read the addresses I'm trying to add in the to, cc and bcc fields. I have found though instead of using tab and shift tab to move between the windows, use f6 and shift f6 and it works much better. If you look in the help file, there is a list of hot keys and it compares them with outlook. carlene knight wrote: Hi: Does anybody use Mozilla Thunderbird? Also, when I read an email, it always says what sounds like x western or x unicode, I'm assuming that depends on the window type used for that particular message, but how do you stop that? I've turned the graphics off every which way I can think of. JAWS won't read most of the panes, though I really don't need them, but why? I like the program, and the security is better than Outlook and OE, but if I could get some of these issues taken care of, it would be much nicer. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I would concur with Dave in that only one sender at a time can be removed from the blocked senders list. The messages from blocked senders (without additional steps, such as deleting messages from server) go only into the Deleted items folder. One can from time to time check Deleted items, to see if there were genuine messages caught up in the general spam filttration as well as those that were indubitably spam. - Original Message - From: Victor Gouveia [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: jaws-users-list@googlegroups.com Sent: Monday, April 02, 2007 10:48 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Re: block senders list Just a question that comes to mind... [JAWS-Users] Re: Computer shutting off
Hi, I think it might be very dusty inside your computer case. Dust acumulates very quickly in there and it can effect the operation of your PC by blocking fans and blocking the vents that let hot air from inside the PC escape and it can cause other things to be effected. so would this friend need to install jaws first n 40 minute mode? Sorry. I also need to know this a I help out my dad with his computer problems but i don't want jawson his system, yet I don't want to reboot every 40 minutes. Take care all. [JAWS-Users] Speech Sounds Manager
Hey David, I was just listening to the audio tutorial on Creating Message Rules. I noticed the single knock and the double knock that you said was from the Speech Sounds Manager. There were several other sounds like beeps, bells and stuff like that, that I really liked. How can I set my computer up so it will make those neat sounds? [JAWS-Users] Re: jaws and thumb drives
Hi Sarah, Here's exactly how it works. If you have Jaws on a thumb drive, and you want to run it on another computer that has never heard of Jaws, here's what has to happen. 1. The video intercept has to be installed on the computer. 2. Authorization has to be installed on the computer. There are several ways of authorizing Jaws, either ILM, or dongle. If you have a dongle, that is the easiest way to authorize, but keep in mind that the dongle drivers have to be installed. If you authorize with ILM, that authorization can be removed. So, the long and short of it is, that no matter how you plan to run Jaws on another computer, something will have to be installed, and then eventually un-installed.
