Hi Patti it's John R. here

that problem isn't you causing it, that's the computer not communicating fast
enough and the computer is showing you it. just think of it as a spinning
wheel, when the computer is working correctly, then the plate is spinning well
and smoothly but when the computer slows down or just crashes this is the plate
slowing down and so information that is being moved like from one folder to
another can't move as fast and so they time out and that's what happends you
find basically when it can't recover that's the plate I'va stopping or has
stopt
the only ways around these are, doing a manual restart like you did, or
replacing the computer or letting the computer cool down for a while about 30
minutes because there is a problem a device driver means something that says to
the computer, you've got that there, use it like this or like that and it only
takes one of them to stop or crash then the computer throws a headache

speak to you later

Hit the del key and confirm. if outlook won't let you do that then that's
not a good thing. the sub folder should go in your deleted items folder.

[JAWS-Users] Re: Computer shutting off

2007-04-03 Thread JR and guide dog Iris

[JAWS-Users] Re: block senders list

2007-04-03 Thread JR and guide dog Iris
Hi Lenny it's John R. here
what you could try is this, this worked for me with MSN when I was in the
blocked list, tab on to the list and hit, CTRL A, this will or shall I say
normally highlights everything in a window, list, etc. and then don't arrow up
or down just press CTRL A, this highlights everything and then tab only across
to remove all of them or a quicker way could be, CTRL A, this highlights them
all, now use your applications key, this is located on the bottom line, on the
righthand side, two keys in from the left arrow key going towards the left, now
a menu will come up, you will have things like, add address(s) to aloud list
then press enter on it and this should do the job

  Hi All,
I have about 200 addresses in my block sender's list. They were all from spam
messages that I blocked.
I no longer appear to be receiving spam from these addresses. Is there an
easy way to remove the entries?
I tried to select each entry and when I enter on the remove button only the
last entry is deleted.

[JAWS-Users] Re: block senders list

2007-04-03 Thread Lenny McHugh

Hi David,
For me I found outlook express to be the friendliest with jaws.
My isp verizon has tools to do this but either they do not work or I really
can't use them with jaws.
I found mail washer to work well with jaws but not on my system because of
the multiple accounts and the way that verizon works. It is to actually
bounce blocked messages with a message indicating that an invalid address
was reached. Verizon will not allow this type of transmission.
I like outlook because of the spell check feature and how well it works with
jaws. If I am not the world's worst speller I am probably the second in line

[JAWS-Users] Re: block senders list

2007-04-03 Thread Lenny McHugh

Hi Victor,
I usually do not check for the actual deleted messages however lately I know
that I missed something. On one of my lists there was a reply to a message
that I never read. Because of a lot of spam from this particular url I
blocked the actual url as opposed to each individual message. When I looked
in the deleted folder there were several messages from some people on the
Trekker list.
I removed that url from the list. I also noticed what would have been a
legitimate message from another blocked url so I deleted that entry as well.
Looking through the messages I saw no of the spam emails. That is why I
wanted to clean the block list and probably start over being a little more
careful.
As I said I never check that folder only because I knew that I did not
receive a particular message.

Hi Bill,

I'm used to the blocked senders list through my Yahoo e-mail account, which
my ISP uses.

My blocked senders list actually blocks the messages at the source, so my
computer never sees the messages when I download my messages to my Outlook
Express.

Add to that the fact that Lenny did not specify if the blocked senders list
was part of his computer's application blocked senders list, or his ISP's
e-mail blocked senders list, so I'm sure you can appreciate the confusion on
my part.

Either way, my question still stands, if your blocked senders list deletes
the messages before they reach your inbox, and you purposely go into your
deleted items folder to view who has sent you the messages, what is the
point of putting these people on your blocked senders list?

I presume you are blocking the e-mail addresses and not subjects or
keywords, right?

This type of filtering is fairly infallible, so, again, why bother?

Victor

[JAWS-Users] Re: block senders list

2007-04-03 Thread David A Ferrin

This is interesting in that you're saying that the email provider you use
deletes messages at the source before you can download them, I think I like
that feature. I admit this is something I've never heard of, but then I
don't use Yahoo for my email. I do have the free account but rarely use it
for anything other than internal transmitting of data between systems.

[JAWS-Users] Re: block senders list

2007-04-03 Thread Victor Gouveia

Victor

running good every since. Just make sure, when blowing out the fans, you have
something like a toothpick or small paint brush handle in them to keep them
from turning as you blow them out .

Hey Gang,
I was going along reading my email and deleting them when my computer just
shut off, and a blue screen came on with some writing on it.
I had to press the button to shut it off, and turned it back on. This is
what is said. What can I do about this problem?
I got Jaws 8, windows XP home.
Thanks Patti

The same information can be found on the Jaws cd as well.
If the option was selected during the Jaws installation, the training
material should already be on the user's hard drive.

Hi,
I think it might be very dusty inside your computer case. Dust acumulates very
quickly in there and it can effect the operation of your PC by blocking fans
and blocking the vents that let hot air from inside the PC escape and it can
cause other things to be effected.

[JAWS-Users] Re: block senders list

2007-04-03 Thread Bill Gallik

Victor asks:
"Uhm, how do you know that you're not receiving messages for those on your
blocked senders list if they are blocked?"

The "Block Senders" list is just one more misappropriation of the English
language by Microsoft; in fact it is an "Automatic Deletion" list such that
any email downloaded from any of the listed sending email addresses causes
that email to be placed in the "Deleted Items" folder. It does not "block"
messages from named addressees from getting to the PC. At least this is how
it works in Outlook Express.

Just a question that comes to mind...

Uhm, how do you know that you're not receiving messages for those on your
blocked senders list if they are blocked?

Could it be that you're not receiving them because they're blocked? Smile.

Sorry, Lenny, I just couldn't resist that one. LOL.
