  Hi,
Do the following steps to display the BCC header in Outlook Express:
  1. Open a new, blank message.
  2. Press Alt V to get to the View menu.
  3. Use the up arrow to choose all headers from the available choices in this
menu.
  4. Press enter.
  That should do the trick.
  Hope this helps,
  Jeff

  Hi,
To change your display name, do the following steps:
  1. go to the tools menu while in OE.
  2. Press the letter A and you should be taken in the Internet Accounts
Dialog, with Focus on the list of available accounts.
  3. select the account that you want to change by pressing the up or down
arrow to select it.
  4. Tab to the properties button.
  5. You should land in the properties dialog for the account that you want to
change.
  6. press tab until Jaws says name edit. This edit field will have your
display name in it.
  7. Delete the name if you want to, and put in the new name that you want to
be displayed.
  8. Tab to the apply button and press enter. You will be in the Internet
Accounts dialog again, and you can just press escape to exit this dialog.

  Jeff

[JAWS-Users] Re: not recieving messages

2007-04-28 Thread tammy cantrell
Stu,
I'm not a moderator but I did want to share some information. I am on another
Google group. For some reason, that list has experienced this same problem.
Some members are receiving emails and the remainder of the group are not. This
has been happening all of this past week. One person shared with me to go and
create a Google account, not an email account. He said that right after doing
that emails started coming in.

I seem to have a problem that I don't seem to find a solution. My bulk-Spam
folder on the web is turned off, I would rather take care of that stuff my
self. I recieved nothing from the list for 4 days, so yesterday I unsubscribe
then later in the day I subscribed, this morning Lois got messages from the
list so I know the list is up and running but still I am getting nothing. Would
one of the moderators take a look and see if something can be done to remedy
the situation. Appreciate the help.

I just placed a clock on the home page which is not a big deal but it will
give you the correct time and date. What I would like if somebody who is
 not
in the eastern time zone to visit the page and let me know their findings.
In other words tell me if the time is correct for you or is the script
reporting the server's time which is in the eastern time zone.

I've added another cleaning type program along with a time setting

They may be found under the internet heading. In fact they are the first

 do
have a number of other files to place up there, it's just a matter of

Just by way of a tip, I found it a lot easier to designate a folder off my

[JAWS-Users] IE6 Favorites question

2007-03-30 Thread tammy cantrell
Hello,
I have started having some strange behavior from IE6. When I go to a web site
that I want placed in my Favorites list, I use the keystroke control + d to add
the site. Recently I have been getting a message that you have added this site
to your favorites list. Do you want to do this? I have made no changes in
settings. Would anybody have any clues as to how to resolve this behavior? If
it doesn't pop up this message, it creepes up when I am using Outlook Express.
As I am arrowing through my emails, Jaws 7 will read the sender's name and say,
favorites, add. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

When you installed Skype, as you may have done recently, during
 installation
did you receive a notification about the Google Toolbar? It would then
 have
installed by default, unless you had unchecked it at that point. Just a
theory or a hunch, at this stage, awaiting confirmation. But it could be
either the Google toolbar or some other toolbar unwittingly installed
 that's
 causing the problems you experience.

  Subject: [JAWS-Users] Re: web mail

  Hi Tammy,

Composing e-mails are just as easy, if not easier, depending on the version
of Jaws you have.

I am currently running Jaws 7 and I find that once I press the navigation
hotkey to get to the compose button with the B key and hit enter, Yahoo
typically focuses on the to field of the next page where you compose the
message.

At that point, all you have to do is press enter to go to forms mode and you
can tab through the different fields.

Having said that, there is a caveat in this process.

First off, I don't know what it's like to send attachments with web mail, so
I can't really comment on that part of it, so please try at your own risk, and
if it behooves you, please report back what you find as I am interested in that
also.

Secondly, the spell checker is atrocious to use, and completely inaccessible,
or rather, a complete pain in the ass to use with Jaws.

It could also be that I didn't have enough patience to learn to use it
properly, or that Yahoo may have possibly made the process better to use for
blind and visually impaired users of their site since the last time I tried to
use it, but in any case, the same use at your own risk applies here also.

One thing I find easier to use is possibly composing the e-mail in another
program, such as Outlook Express or Microsoft Word or Word Pad, use the spell
checker in those programs, then cut and paste the result into the message field
of the web mail message.

I find this a great deal easier, especially if I have a really long piece to
compose, or if I'm not feeling particularly well that day and I make a number
of mistakes.

Either way, you can decide if you want to try those aspects of the process.

  Hope this helps.

  Victor

  Subject: [JAWS-Users] Re: web mail

  Hi Tammy,

Sorry to get back to you so late on this, but I found your message stuck away
in my bulk items folder and forgot to check it in the last couple of days.
Anyway, I regularly use Web Mail to check my e-mail through Yahoo, it is quite
simple once you set it up to your liking.

  For example...

My current sequence is as follows:

Please keep in mind that I have already set up everything I need to check my
e-mail quickly and to expedite not staying on my Internet Explorer window very
long.

Suffice it to say, I have set up my Yahoo log-in screen as a favourite, and
because it's the only link in my favourites menu with the letter Y, all I have
to do is hit the keystroke of alt+A to go to the favourites menu, then the
letter Y to go to the Yahoo log-in screen.

The link for that is usually mail.yahoo.com, and once there, you can add it
to your favourites, and do the following:

Hit the F key to go to the first form field. This will usually be the
username field.

Once you've established that it is the field you want, place a permanent
placemarker there by pressing the control+shift+K keystroke.

This will take you to a dialog box with the list of placemarkers already on
the page.

Since you haven't placed any, this list should be empty. Tab once to the add
button and press the spacebar, which will pop up a placemarker name dialog box.

You can either, choose to go with the name already there, or type in a new
name for it.

Now, Having done this, every time you go to the Yahoo log-in page and press
the letter K to go to the first place marker, you'll land on the username
field, at which point, you would go into the forms mode and enter the
appropriate information and hit enter.

Now that that's done, the following page will also need some work in order to
stream line any future e-mail checking through web mail.

So, in the following page after you've logged in, press the letter L until
Jaws says list of 5 items.

This is where the list of folders is.

By folders I mean the Inbox, Sent Items, Drafts and Bulk and Trash folders.

These are links that you use to go to the other web pages that contain your
e-mails.

This is also the list that will tell you how many unread e-mails you have in
each folder.

One thing you can do to streamline this process is place another permanent
placemarker on that list of 5 items, or on the inbox link, if you want to go
directly there, and use the placemarker to navigate the screen. This
completely negates the process of having to scroll through the hundreds of
links on the page.

Once you've seen how many unread e-mails are in each folder, if that is your
desired choice to do, hit enter on the folder, and the page with all the
e-mails you have will pop up.

After this, reading the list of e-mails and, subsequently, reading the
e-mails you want to read are easy, once you know the specific keys to press to
get you to where you want to go.

So, for argument sake, Let's say you see that there are 53 unread messages in
your inbox. Once the inbox link is highlighted, you press enter and the
resulting page will load up.

Once the page has completely loaded up, press the letter T for table, and
this will take you right to the top of the e-mail list.

In fact, once you press the letter T Jaws will take you directly to a
checkbox at the beginning of the list of e-mails in the folder.

Jaws will say something like checkbox not checked select all, blah, blah,
blah.

Anyway, this table starts off and lists the e-mail headers as follows:

  Sender:
Attachments: (If any, usually not spoken, or spoken as a blank column)
  Subject:
  Date:
  Size:

These are the columns in the table that lists the messages you have waiting
to be read. There are other columns that will sometimes show up, such as view
address book listing, or view contact details and other information, but in the
table column headers, like the attachment column, Jaws often speaks these
headers as blank columns. The only time Jaws will say that there's something
there is when you are going through the list of e-mails, and there's an
attachment or there are profiles you can view, in which case, the first row
won't show these

[JAWS-Users] Re: making a hot key for jaws

2006-12-29 Thread tammy cantrell

Mitch,
Here are the steps to make your hotkey:
1. use the windows key + m to get you to the desktop
2. press the letter j to get you to the Jaws icon
3. press the application key. It is the 3rd key to the right of your spacebar.
4. arrow up 1 time or press the letter r to go to the properties and press
enter.
5. Tab until you hear the words short cut
6. just press the letter j. The alt and control are automatically in place
for you. You may want to tab away and then shift tab to make sure the letter
stays there.
7. Tab to the ok and press the enter key.

This should set up that hotkey for Jaws. You can use these steps for other
shortcuts, just use different letters or numbers. Hope this helps.

Windows can perform the same action each time you insert

 Music CD
What do you want Windows to do?

 you can;

1, navigate to the letter of your audio drive, example, D,

2, press applications key, and arrow to, Auto-play, and press enter, or, after
pressing the applications key, press the letter, P and press enter,

3, now your presented with a list of choices, just arrow to Winamp, tab once and
check the box with spacebar that reads, Always do the selected action, then,
tab ok, and press enter.

your CD's should now play in Winamp.

 Tammy,
Load the music you want in your play list and make sure you are in the play
list window. You can do this by pressing control tab until you hear, play list
editor.
Now do a control s to save.
Give your play list a title and choose the directory you want to save it in.
That's all there is to it.
If you want to add to the play list, you will have to open that play list and
load the songs you want to add to it.
Then do a control s to save and say yes to over write the current play list.
Don't worry, you won't lose the songs you already have.
I normally save my play list to the desk top so it is easily accessible.
 HTH

Hi, here is what works for me. Hit space bar, alt down arrow once, then
control down arrow for the remaining items in the combo box. Some times I
can simply down arrow and it will work, while at other times, as soon as I
down arrow I am taken to that page or sight.

Bill,
You are right.

I was trying to help a person navigate a college web site and met with

this

challenge. I could not arrow down through the items in the combo box.

Alt
+ down arrow did not work for me. Any input would be greatly
appreciated.

I suspect that the problem Tammy is asking to resolve is the dynamic
 changes
in the web page simply by moving from item to item in the Combo box.

Yes, just load 7.0 and set it to run at start up.

Here's you another question. I have a friend that downloaded the Jaws 7.1
update. This update caused some strange problems with the computer. The
question is, Can you go back to Jaws 7.0 without totally uninstalling the
program? Thanks

[JAWS-Users] Combo box question

2006-12-21 Thread tammy cantrell
I need information on navigating combo boxes. Here's the situation: Running Jaws 7.1, and Windows XP pro. I have met up with combo boxes on web sites that when you attempt to arrow down through the choices Jaws will read the choice and then throw you back to the web page. It is very difficult to navigate the choices. Is there a way to work through this situation. thank you in advance for the information.
