Did you follow David's instructions while you had WinAmp open and were in
the WinAmp main window? That's where it works.

 Hello Tammy;

 if your using Windows XP;

 and when you insert a CD you hear;

 "Windows can perform the same action each time you insert
 a disk or connect a device with this kind of file:
 Music CD
 What do you want Windows to do?"

 you can;

 1, navigate to the letter of your audio drive, example, "D",

 2, press applications key, and arrow to, "Auto-play", and press enter, or, after
pressing the applications key, press the letter, "P" and press enter,

 3, now your presented with a list of choices, just arrow to Winamp, tab once and
check the box with spacebar that reads, " Always do the selected action, then,
tab ok, and press enter.

 your CD's should now play in Winamp.

Lois,
You will need to go to the preferences in Winamp, control p, and to file
types and then tab to, check, launch Winamp for audio cd's, then tab to
close.

Hi Rick,

I have been trying to get my audio cds to play in winamp, too. I have the
box checked in preferences, but when I got to properties, winamp isn't a
choice. I see two other media players and open to view in windows explorer.

Do you have any idea why winamp isn't there and how I can get it back. It
does automaticaly play anything that's on my computer, just not cds.

Thanks,
Lois

Hi Tammy,
Try this:
1. From Windows Explorer, highlight your cd drive.
2. Next, press alt + enter for the properties.
3. Go to the auto-play tab, and using the tab key, and the arrow keys,
set the drive to respond to your liking for each type of cd inserted into
the drive.
4. After making each selection, tab to the apply button, and spacebar that.
5. When you are done, activate the okay button.
You are done.

I could set it up to play cds in windows media player or vlc lan media
player, so I choose select an action. I don't want it to play in either one
of those.

Thank you for everything and have a good day at work.

Take care,

2006-12-27 Thread David The WildThing!

Hello Tammy;

if your using Windows XP;

and when you insert a CD you hear;

"Windows can perform the same action each time you insert
a disk or connect a device with this kind of file:
Music CD
What do you want Windows to do?"

you can;

1, navigate to the letter of your audio drive, example, "D",

2, press applications key, and arrow to, "Auto-play", and press enter, or, after pressing
the applications key, press the letter, "P" and press enter,

3, now your presented with a list of choices, just arrow to Winamp, tab once and
check the box with spacebar that reads, " Always do the selected action, then,
tab ok, and press enter.

your CD's should now play in Winamp.

When I put a cd into my disk drive, nothing happens. I can use windows
explorer and locate the cd, enter on it and then it will play. How can I
get it back to where I put in a cd and it automatically opens Winamp and
starts playing?
Thanks in advance!

[JAWS-Users] Re: Last question for the night

2006-12-27 Thread Lois Butterfield

HTH,
Rick

[JAWS-Users] Re: Last question for the night

2006-12-27 Thread Denny Huff

Tammy,
If what Rick told you doesn't work, try this.
Open Winamp.
Do a control P for preferences.
If it says, general, arrow down to, File Types.
If not, you will need to arrow up.
When you hear, file types, tab to, Launch Winamp for audio CD and press your
spacebar to check it.
Tab to close and press enter.

Denny
