Re: [JAWS-Users] Another very Jaws friendly dictionary
I personally got a bit of a snicker out of this thread. When the first person originally said that they found the Urban Dictionary and that it was a great dictionary, I was going to point out what it actually was, but figured they would figure it out after they ran a few words through it. It's definitely not the dictionary for the faint of heart. *GRIN* -- Blue skies. Dan Rossi Carnegie Mellon University. Re: [JAWS-Users] Another very Jaws friendly dictionary
Alex, this was originally about a definition in a dictionary using 'language which might be considered offensive' to use a phrase the RNIB use about some of their books. Whether you or I do or do not find a four-letter word offensive is neither here nor there. Many quite reasonable adults object to such language. - Original Message - From: "David Ferrin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Saturday, November 15, 2008 1:51 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Another very Jaws friendly dictionary Well you would hope we're for the most part adults. Re: [JAWS-Users] anti virus program.
Hi Fiallo, You can have only one resident anti-virus program, on your machine, however, you should be able to perform a virus scan over the internet. There are several of these available, such as TrendMicro's housecall, but you will need to disable your current anti-virus before running one of these scans. More info can be found from which ever site you choose. I would stick with a reputable site. Re: [JAWS-Users] anti virus program.
You can't have more than one antivirus installed and running on one computer, however you can install antispyware and other forms of protection. I have AVG 8 Free here and Super Antispyware Free Edition. AVG 8 is pretty much accessible out of the box and is easy to use once you understand the slightly strange interface. -- Chris Hallsworth e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] MSN: [EMAIL PROTECTED] skype: chrishallsworth7266 klango: chrishallsworth - Original Message - From: "Fiallo" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Saturday, November 15, 2008 12:57 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] anti virus program. [JAWS-Users] JFW 10, MS Word and hyperlinks
I've experienced the below issue in both JFW versions 9 and 10 but not 8. Using XP Pro and Office 2003, in Microsoft Word I often make use of the hyperlinks that take you to a particular spot on the page. In both Versions 9 and 10 it will simply not paste them on the screen. If they are there from putting them in with V8 you can use them but they are not noted as a hyper link. That isn't so much a problem, but not being able to create them is a problem. I've tried Insert V and changing various settings to see if it helps but it ain't happening. Has anyone had this issue and or know the fix? Thanks. [JAWS-Users] RE Office 2007
I'm using Office 2007, and find it works well with JAWS 9 I've only had JAWS 10 on my computer for one day yet, but it has solved one problem I've had in Access. I'm very happy with it, but if 2003 is working well for you, I don't see a great advantage in spending the money to upgrade. I can't speak to the security issue. If using Microsoft Word, you can toggle on Mark All (a Word feature) with ctrl-shift-8. Re: [JAWS-Users] Trouble with Jaws and Skype.
The only way to get those files is to use a audio grabber. Because they are embedded in the program. how about turning the speakers down and crank the computer up? Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2003 questions.
In outlook 2003, it's in the options dialog box, either under the "e-mail" options, or the "Advanced" options--I can't remember for sure--but I know it's there.
