[JAWS-Users] Unintended consequences from this? RE: Found solution to balloon hot key
Hello. I always thought choosing 'alt text' for graphics verbocity is the optimum way for Jaws to correctly identify each graphic. How does JFW's ability to identify graphics in a way I know what the graphic label/tag /whatever is if I change it to announce 'on mouseover'? I figured there was but just overlooked it. If you want to read those little balloon things, you just need to set your user verbocity settings so your graphics are recognized by mouse over text and not alt text which is the default. I say that to say I'd bet there is a way for Jaws to read those without extra programming. The frame idea is a good one though and perhaps that will be the way it will need to be. It would require that the text or balloon that appears would have to appear in a similar part of the screen every time. You could then create a frame to read that area of the screen and use a hotkey to read the frame. I have not created a frame in a while, but if I remember correctly it is not to difficult. Especially if you are going to call tech support anyway, you could have them or some one else to help you create the frame. Re: [JAWS-Users] Unintended consequences from this? RE: Found solution to balloon hot key
If you set it in the verbocity settings with INS V, it is not permanant, provided you know there is a balloon you want/need to see. I went to a site that has an alt tag on a graphic and it still read it. Will that be the case for all web sites? I don't know, you'd think it would. Brad At 11:39 AM 8/18/2010, you wrote: Hello. [JAWS-Users] accessibility of I-Tunes store
Hi folks. Just bought an I-Phone but found the I-tunes store screens inaccessible for setting up an account to download apps for my new phone. Using JAWS11 latest, I was unable to route JAWS to the things on the screen that needed to be activated, and often the JAWS cursor did not reliably route to the PC cursor's location. What work-around are others using? Cher For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
