Hello there;

While in MSOutlook2007,
 Alt+t=tools,

Now tab to change, enter,

Now tab to username,
And add the recent: to your username,
And then tab to okay,

I think this would work.

Using outlook 2007 where do I put recent: and my email address?

It says under account name: so would that be the first window or second
window after I click on account?

sorry for being stupid here, its been a long week and its only tuesday!

You shouldn't have to do none of that. In outlook 2007 and above, once you
enter your email address and password, it finds the settings for you, all
you should have to do is wait a few minutes, and click finish.

Hello there;

Yes this is correct if your setting up a new account, however, it will not
place recent: in front of the username,
Which allows user to see emails from various listserves.
Also you need to set your mail to pop3 on your gmail account page.

[JAWS-Users] i e 9 jaws 12 and wlm

2011-03-23 Thread Lenny McHugh
This is interesting. Some how the install of I e9 makes jaws not automatically
read opened wlm messages. As soon as I installed I e9 when I open an email
maybe the first one or two will automatically read. From then on when I open a
message I must use any of the reading keys to start the reading of the mail. To
prove that it is I e9 I just removed it and now jaws reads the wlm messages.
Any thoughts?

Re: [JAWS-Users] Nirator running Win 7

2011-03-23 Thread tim

Now the thing I find funny here is the tabbing part.
I have brought narrator up plenty of times for different things I
have to do here that jaws just ain't got the function to do. Like
speak when it crashes my browser. Never did this in version 10 but
from there up.
Every time I do that windows key + u. It brings up the ease of access
center. Now nothing about that speaks. You have to do the alt + n for speech.
Now the question is why tell people to tab when they don't know where
to tab to and only does by sighted help?
Forget tabbing in there because your just going to start something
you don't want and may not help at all.
Just do the commands straight out and you will get speech! The only
time it don't work is a problem with sound card.

2011-03-23 Thread Doris and Chris
There are still some issues with accessibility also. and, of course,
the lack of webvisum is a major show stopper.

Firefox 3.6 will continue to receive security fixes for some time to
come, I am sure, just as Firefox 3.5 did.

For anyone wanting to try out Firefox 4, they can do so using the
portable version wihtout jeopardizing their regular install of 3.6.

[JAWS-Users] jaws, win7 and memory stick

2011-03-23 Thread Fanus
Hello listers
I am new to windows 7 but now I encounter a strange problem.
When I insert my memory stick windows7 picks it up but I
have only access to the folders on the stick and not to any
files which is on the stick but not in a folder. In other
words, win7 only sees the 16 folders but not the other
files.
Is there a setting which I must change to rectify this or is
this a jaws12 problem?

There was a post on an accessibility blog asking for help from
developers/programmers to work on this add-on for it to be compatible with
Firefox 4. That the people who put it out need help and don't have the
resources to do it and so on. Perhaps people on this list can lend their

Re: [JAWS-Users] 2 Keyboards

2011-03-23 Thread Mike O'Brien
Hi

If some of the keys on her keyboard(s) are not acting as expected, one thing
to check is the Regional and Language Options in Control Panel. I got an
old laptop from my daughter and was having trouble with some keys until I
looked there and found that the language was set to English (UK) and the
location was set to UK. Set the language to English (United States) and the
location to United States. Another thing to check is Keyboard in Control
Panel and the keyboard type on the hardware tab should be Standard
101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 K... Keyboards

Hi Tim;

Thank you for your reply. Eventually I had her boyfriend uninstall the
wireless keyboard plug in another keyboard but, some keystrokes still
don't work. She can't sit at the computer for longperiods of time so, it's
hard to get very much done at 1 sitting. I have all the folders unhidden
through the View Page so, if Local Disk C, was there I should be able to see
it. All the folders you would normally find under Local Disk C, are there
but, as sub-folders in 2 other folders. It is going to take some time to
get this computer figured out but, it will get done, maybe! LOL Thanks
again, take care.

The computer will only respond to one keyboard at a time. I would
unplug the ps2 and see if problem and do same with other.
Now for the drive it may be under a different name or may be labeled

Would have to show then in the folder options.

Well, this is one of the draw backs/annoyances when yu use recent: in front

You get all the messages you send.
2 copies in fact.

I'm not sure if there's a fix for that.

[JAWS-Users] word 2002

2011-03-23 Thread Lenny McHugh
I have office 2003 installed and has word 2002. I seldom write letters. Today
was the first since I have this win 7 home machine. Using the latest jaws 12
the tab no longer announces position. It use to announce the distance for each
tab. Now only one or two positions are announced. I wanted to get to 4.25
inches. Only one position 2 inches were read. Is there any way to fix this?

If all else fails, alt+delete will announce the position in inches
from the edge of the document, disregarding the margin. that doesn't
really solve the problem, but it's a work-around.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] The function key

 Hi all,

I just got a new HP 64 bit laptop, with a full keyboard. I purchased the
full keyboard computer so I wouldn't have to deal with the laptop
configuration. With this new computer though, I need to press the
 function
key to use any of the Jaws f key functions. Is there a way to switch the
default on the function keys so that the function key needs to be pressed
for the opposite of what it is presently set up to?

For example,, the f12 key is presently default to turn on and off the
internet. In order to read the time I must press, the fn key, the f12 and
the Jaws key. As you can imagine, while trying to do the links list Jaws
key f7, on the internet this is a feat in dexterity! I want to make that
the secondary function of the f 12 key and let the Jaws key f12 speak the
time and date as it did on my old computer.

Is this a possibility? How would one accomplish this task?

 Thanks in advance,
 Dixie
