Re: [JAWS-Users] YouTube

2011-07-28 Thread jason smith
Hi Patti. If you are referring to the latest youtube to mp3 converter? I
think that is also the version that I just upgraded too a few days ago. Jaws
doesn't seem to read the options as well as it did in the last version. When
you tab through the options? After pasting in the URL of the youtube video
you want to convert. There is a list. In which you can choose the format to
which you want to convert the video into. I notice now, you can choose
between: OG, Wave, MP4 and MP3. Perhaps, you have it set to MP4? and this is
causing your trouble?

Take care
Jason

[JAWS-Users] problem with function keys on new laptopth

2011-07-28 Thread Yankee Heart
Hi,

I'm using JAWS 12 with Windows 7 64 bit on a new HP Pavilion laptop. The
function keys are not working with the insert key at all. JAWS is set to use
the insert key, but the function keys on this computer are using the default
settings for HP. Is there a way to change these function keys to get JAWS to
perform correctly?

Thank you.

Re: [JAWS-Users] problem with function keys on new laptopth

2011-07-28 Thread Adi Kushnir
The best laptops I think for a blind person are the Dell Latitudes that are
dizind spessifically for work, on the HP pavilion and Dell Inspirions for
example, you will maybe need to press the Function keys together with the
function key which is located usually after the left control key.
So if you want to do insert f4 for example, you will press the insert
key+the function key+f4.
On the Dell inspiron line, you can change that in the bios - I think that
would also apply to a lot of HP machines.

Best regards,

Adi Kushnir, Israel.

Yes, Vicki.

This is common on some HP laptops.
You Can disable that functionality and restore your function keys to normal
use by disabling Action Keys Mode in the BIOS...

Hi Patti. If you are referring to the latest youtube to mp3 converter? I
think that is also the version that I just upgraded too a few days ago.
Jaws doesn't seem to read the options as well as it did in the last
version. When you tab through the options? After pasting in the URL of
the youtube video you want to convert. There is a list. In which you can
choose the format to which you want to convert the video into. I notice
now, you can choose between: OG, Wave, MP4 and MP3. Perhaps, you have it
set to MP4? and this is causing your trouble?

Take care
Jason

Thanks so much for this Larry.
It worked like a charm, and it is better then the one I had to download.

If you go to

www.youtube-mp3.org it will convert to mp3 for you.

Hey Gang,
I had to download the newest YouTube 3.10.722, and it puts things in
mp4.

How can I get it to put the songs in mp3?
I'm running XP, IE8, and jaws 12.525.
Thanks for any help
I tried to convert it through gold wave, but it didn't work.

IMO, it's a much better idea to keep your drivers current - within
reason - rather than back-up / restore old or corrupt device drivers.
In my experience, corrupt or old drivers are the biggest single issue
people have with computers.

Hi Patti,
It looks to me like you are downloading the videos, and not the audio.
From what you have written, you need the youtube to mp3 converter, not the
youtube downloader.

I have just performed a clean install of windows 7 on a laptop. There wasn't
a driver cd. So it took a long time to find all the drivers. It would just
be good to back them all up now.

Perhaps, but my point is that some / all of those drivers will be out of
date in a reasonably short time, so restoring them to a new install down
the track could cause problems.

I went back to previous version and things are fine again.
