[JAWS-Users] settings won't save
Hello, I have to user profiles on my PC, one for business, the other for personal. But when I switch between users, jaws always pops up that start up wizard. And the only way to get my settings back on either user profile, is to restart my computer twice. Is there any way to keep settings saved on both users? [JAWS-Users] not a writing program
Dear listers, After hearing from someone on a different list regarding my search for a “writing” program, I’ve come to the conclusion that is actually not what I am looking for. I am looking for something that will let me “dump” bits of information such as you would put in a notebook, on notecards, in a file cabinet and the like Not only could it hold text, but also scanned documents and photos. In other words, it would hold all the info I need for a research project and I could search it for “John Smith” and everything related to him would come up. In the past, I have come across some programs but their demos haven’t seemed accessible with JAWS. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. [JAWS-Users] itunes
hi lenny: I also use itunes. Some times it can be difficult but most of the time its rewarding to use itunes. Here are a few tips. Here is how to do a search for an album. In the source tree view, of the itunes program go down to the itunes store: either press f6 or shift+tab to go to the search itunes edit box. type in the album you are looking for and press enter. Press h for heading, until you here album, arrow down one time to show all link and press enter. Press h for heading and then press g for graphic link to look at the names of all the albums. when you find the album you want press enter. Press h for heading until you come to the album review. Below this heading is the demo buttons. Press the letter b to go to the first demo button and press b again to go to the buy individual buy song button. If you like the album and want to buy it, just go to the top of the page and press b one time , this will take you to the buy album button. It just takes a little getting used to but itunes is not really that hard to use. When on the itunes home page with itunes: If you want to go to the music page: Insert+f7, bring up link list. Press enter on the music link towards the bottom of the list. h for headings. g for graphic links between the headings. b for buttons. If you have any more questions about itunes feel free to email me off list... I hope this helps. Jim: I've LearnedThat life is like a roll of toilet Paper. [JAWS-Users] Google Drive
So, it looks like the long rumored Google Drive is for real. Google even specifically mentions that screen reader users will be able to use it. I havent' had a chance to play with it, but I'm going to guess that they're only refering to the storage aspects and not the Google Docs part that have so far been a screen reading disaster. Has anyone been able to try it out yet? They even talk about OCR recognition. Considering that it offers way more free storage than Dropbox, I think I may give it a shot especially once they put out their IOS app. Below is the Google Blog update. I came across it via Lifehacker. http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2012/04/introducing-google-drive-yes-really.h tml#!/2012/04/introducing-google-drive-yes-really.html For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

She went on to explain to install J.13.0.852 as a administrator and how, highlighting the exe file, by using the content key and entering on run... , after rebooting the computer. Followed the prompts and the unknown file is now gone, and it appears to be reading in O E some what better and at the top of the message. RJ P. S. She offered to work me thru the process, but told her if I had a problem, I would call back. Please to say, she was not only helpful, but polite. - Original Message - From: Patti bbk...@comcast.net To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Tuesday, April 24, 2012 5:45 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS 13 April Update, 852 is released So I didn't see if they fixed, when you open up an email in OE it didn't read at the beginning, it started reading in the middle of it. Re: [JAWS-Users] Latest Jaws Update
Hi Graham, I got the same message on my Win7 system. I went into manage application settings, and unchecked my default, and okayed my way out of the dialogue. There was another dialogue that had popped-up somewhere along the line, but I couldn't capture it. It made a reference to the startup wizard, which happened to open once I got out of the manage applications dialogue. I went thru the wizard, and after that everything seems to be okay.
