You either need sited help, or use the jaws cursor for 95 percent of your
selections. Just make sure it is lined up, and use the left mouse click.
This is the way I had to do it all 3 times I got a number. Oh, and if doing
it this way, you will need a lot of patients also.

2012-10-14 Thread Mike O'Brien
Hi

I sent this last message before I should have. My full reply follows.

There is not a way to transfer an activation key from your computer back to
the FS server. You just have to use your last key, and then request another
3 keys from FS. You can deactivate JAWS on your old computer by going to
the start menu, all programs, jawsxx (where xx is your JAWS version), tools
and select remove product activation. However This will not add to your
number of activations available. So I would deactivate it on your old
computer when you know the new one is working and have transferred what you
want to it. You should deactivate JAWS on the old computer before you get
rid of it or you won't be in compliance with the JAWS license.

This stuttering problem is happening across all 3 Windows7 computers that
I

use on a daily basis. A 32bit laptop and desktop running JAWS 12 and a
64bit laptop running JAWS 13 and 12. The problem is intermittent and
inconsistent. I talked to FS support when I first noticed on my 64bit
laptop and I was told that it was a problem with my laptop. Now that it
is

happening across 3 computers, I think it is an issue between JAWS and
Windows7. When the stuttering occurs, I just wait for JAWS to stop

Hi Annette Other List Members,

Awhile back, I'm not sure if the stuttering problem I had was with J12 or
13, running XP, below is what I found was causing the stuttering issue on my
computer. I am not saying this is any of your problems but, it's not hard
to check. I don't even know how the hell I found this problem! I think it
came to me after falling hitting my head on the edge of Doctor Phil's
couch! LOL LOL

Anyways, the steps below are for XP. When I get the courage to turn on my
Widows7 computer I'll try to send the steps for Widows7.
1. Open the control panel and press enter to open Accessibility Options.
2. Control + Tab to the display page.
3. Tab to Cursor Options Blink Rate left right slider, this should be at
63%.
4. Tab to Cursor Options Width left right slider, this should be at 0%.

Take care.

This stuttering problem is happening across all 3 Windows7 computers that I
use on a daily basis. A 32bit laptop and desktop running JAWS 12 and a
64bit laptop running JAWS 13 and 12. The problem is intermittent and
inconsistent. I talked to FS support when I first noticed on my 64bit
laptop and I was told that it was a problem with my laptop. Now that it is
happening across 3 computers, I think it is an issue between JAWS and
Windows7. When the stuttering occurs, I just wait for JAWS to stop
stuttering and re-read the material.

For the second time, jaws today crashed right out of the blue and when I

You either need sited help, or use the jaws cursor for 95 percent of your
selections. Just make sure it is lined up, and use the left mouse click.
This is the way I had to do it all 3 times I got a number. Oh, and if doing

Re: [JAWS-Users] setting up a google voice number with jaws

2012-10-14 Thread Cristobal
The mobile site is: www.google.com/voice/mobile
Like I said, you can already do some settings adjustments on that site, but
for things like creating groups, adding people to groups, creating custom
voicemails and so on have to be done through the regular desktop version.
www.voice.google.com

The regular site isn't ideal, but really, it just takes some Jaws cursor
usage and left button clicking and it's no biggy. I use my personal Google
Voice number as my main phone number and use it as I would an email address
with certain calls being filtered as would emails being sent to particular
groups. Whether I wish to answer them or have the calls go straight to voice
mail, etc.

I have different personalised voicemail messages for family, friends and
generic contacts such as utilities or credit cards or whoever I hand my
number out to. Only family has my real cell phone number. Same goes for my
various business gv telephone numbers. I can forward them to different
numbers, again create personalised voicemails (be it for return customers,
vendors, etc.). Get the transcript of the vm emailed to me or listen to the
voice mail again with an email notification through my computer, iPhone or
iPad.

Making calls through the standard gmail configuration can be somewhat of a
hassel, and I've found it to be pretty much impracticle through Firefox
since Jaws is always announcing the call timer when on a call, but I more
often than not make my calls through other means such as the call back
feature for example and it is possible through IE. I haven't played with it
using Chrome though.

All of them but those marked for gold wave 4 are not really required.

Hi Lenny,

I have GoldWave version 5.65. When I looked on the Jaws Users site there
were scripts for this version but, there are 18 script files in the zipped
file. Am I supposed to install all 18 of these files into my ENU folder or,
just certain ones? All advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much,
take care.

After reading the tutorial sent to me by a list member and plowing through
the help, I am now a gold wave user. It took a while but I was able to
remove a click at the end of a few recordings. It is one very powerful
program and I was surprised that it is designed to work with screen readers.
After I installed the scripts it made it even better. Now to remove a
plethora of programs that I installed to accomplish the task, some of which
were not at all jaws friendly.
