[JAWS-Users] focusing on buttons
I've had a similar problem to the one Miriam is having. If I go to the ATT website to check mail, every time I hit the link for spam, it takes me to create a new folder. I can only get to the spam folder using the jaws cursor. Then, to empty the spam folder, I have to go back to the jaws cursor since, using the virtual cursor on empty the spam folder, it sends me to the sent folder. Re: [JAWS-Users] focusing on buttons
Oh, I feel better, I thought it was just me and my antiquated JAWS 10 using IE 8. This is particularly bad on the schwans.com site, and sometimes even bringing up a list of links and pressing enter to activate the link that way doesn't solve the issue. If I try moving to the link instead, the cursor is actually one or two lines above the link, which explains why I was always going to other parts of the site totally unrelated to what I was clicking on. I usually refresh the screen and then move the virtual cursor right to the place where the link starts and then either left click or press enter. it's still hit and miss, though. Honestly, the only way to avoid this is to use another screen reader which won't be mentioned. But yeah, that's why I too let people know what I'd seen so that they could see that perhaps if it was an IE 10, it could be one of those unlucky things. I'm glad it's better now. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Scott Duck Sent: Thursday, March 07, 2013 5:03 PM To: Jaws List Subject: [JAWS-Users] IE10 Hi Everyone, Recently, I posted to the list about problems that I was having with IE10 instability. As it turns out, the problem was not IE10. It was my router. Unknown to me at the time, my wife, who was using IE9 on a different machine on the same network, had begun to have the same problems with instability that I was having. When I found out about her problems, I decided to replace the router just to see if that would fix the problem. It did. I replaced the router two days ago and have had no problems at all sense then. I just wanted to let everyone know because I wouldn't want someone who had seen my previous posts on this subject to look unfavorably upon upgrading to Win 8 or IE10 because of incorrect information that I had posted. Re: [JAWS-Users] VLC Media Player
Hello, I have had strange issues with VLC. For instance when I press control plus down arrow to lower volume it minimizes the program and takes me to the desktop. This even occurs when going to the menus and trying to decrease the volume. I finally gave up and installed Real Media Player and it seems to be doing what I need ok.
