[JAWS-Users] tune up utilities?
Hi all, have just downloaded the 15 day trial. it doesn't seem very jfw friendly. using jfw v14. anyone had any luck or do you have to use the jaws cursor to select clean up etc. Don't want to pay lots of money if the prog isn't that usable. -- Adam Morris Phone: +61 2 888 93939 email: a...@damorris.com Skype: adamwilliam Twitter: awmorris msn: a...@damorris.com For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

Re: [JAWS-Users] Is ad aware accessible using jaws 13 and Windows 7
You are correct. Malware Bytes doesn't seem to detect tracking cookies. But I also use Super Anti Spyware, which is reasonably JAWS accessible as long as you use the JAWS cursor, and does detect tracking cookies. You can download the latest version using Ninite Installer by searching for super using the JAWS Find command: http://ninite.com/ Gerald - Original Message - From: Greg Washington gregw...@comcast.net To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Tuesday, April 16, 2013 7:06 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Is ad aware accessible using jaws 13 and Windows 7 If not can anyone recommend a free program that will identify and delete tracking cookies that is Jaws friendly? [JAWS-Users] Update on O E copy issue with 14.
Hi all, First of all, thanks for all of the tips on my issue in O E and not being able to copy a message after I updated the JAWS 14. I have found that, if I am in a message and hit control A to select then Control C, or even arrow down in the menu bar to copy, I am not able to do this. However, if, instead of hitting the Control A, I arrow in the menu/edit area and click on select all I am then able to arrow in the same menu/edit to copy on to the clipboard. Re: [JAWS-Users] tablets
Reese, Just to give some additional opinion when considering these Tablet options. The Samsung I bought had a decent keyboard, and the tablet can detach from the keyboard completely. I would not recommend it for a couple of reasons. First, the balance of it when using it as a laptop is not good. Since all the electronics are behind the screen, and the screen is a touch device, it is very heavy compared to the keyboard itself. Secondly, in order to use it as a tablet, you really need to disconnect it from the keyboard and I then find myself trying to go get my keyboard later since typing on these tablet devices is not very comfortable for me, as a sighted user. So I like the tablet to consume information, but if I have to produce, I find myself wanting the keyboard back. The other computer I bought last year was my Toshiba Ultra book. It is less weight than the tablet, has a great keyboard, and is balanced perfectly for using it on a desk or my lap. Hands down, I like my ultra book with Win 7 or win 8 over the tablets I've been able to try so far. Re: [JAWS-Users] tablets
Fanus, JAWS 14 will run on PC's or Tablets that run full Windows 8 (not the RT version). The touch support for the tablets is not in JAWS 14 however so if you are getting a tablet with Windows 8 today, you will need to have a keyboard and/or a Braille Display like the Focus Blue to drive the tablet. JAWS 15 will add newer functionality to work with these which I'll be showing more of at the summer conventions in July and it will be in public beta around the end of August. Gerald, You can go to control panel, flash player, advanced tab, have the radio button checked to have Adobe update flash automatically or notify you of updates. You can then try the check for update button. You will still get that google toolbar option if you do a download. I'd recommend installing secunia Personal Software Inspector which will also notify you if you have outdated programs. - Original Message - From: Janie Degenshein jdege...@comcast.net To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Monday, April 15, 2013 4:49 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Seeking new accessible way to update Adobeflash as Ninite.com quit doing it. I posted about this on another list. The best way to update Adobe Flash now that it is no longer avaiable on Ninite Installer is to access the site below. Search for the check box for installing Google Chrome and Google Tool Bar and make sure you uncheck it before you start the download. It is checked by default. Then update Adobe Flash using IE and then Firefox, if you use it. You can verify which version of Adobe Flash is currently installed on your computer by going to Flash Player on the Control Panel, accessing the Advanced Tab. and then scrolling down near the bottom of the page with the JAWS cursor to see the version of Flash installed for IE and Firefox. http://get2.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Gerald - Original Message - From: Dujari, Prateek prateek.duj...@intel.com To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Monday, April 15, 2013 12:57 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Seeking new accessible way to update Adobe flash as Ninite.com quit doing it. hello there. I don't know if this will help, since I think it is only occurring in OE. Mine started doing this after updating to the latest update in Jaws. Or it could be the latest security update from Microsoft. Not sure which. But found if I use alt + e and to select and alt + e and c for copy it works. [JAWS-Users] mlb game day audio
Hello, is there a faster way to get to the stand alone player for mlb game day audio? Right now it seems you have to click on the listen link which brings up the media player and then you have to click on the stand alone player to get to game day audio. The problem is when you click on the listen link which brings up the media player some game starts playing automatically before you can click on the stand alone player link. When that game is playing in the media player it's hard to hear jaws and closing the player to disable this audio is sluggish. I hope I made sense here.
