[JAWS-Users] Fw: Program Updater, How To Turn It Off, In Malware Bytes
Hi All, For those that haven't figured out how to stop Malware Bytes from automatically updating your program to the nonaccessible version or, nagging you about a program update being available, below are the steps to turning both of these off. I used these running XP Pro, XP Home, Win7 Pro, with Jaws 13 15. 1. Press enter on Malware Bytes in the system tray arrow to, start scanner, press enter. 2. With Malwarebytes open, tab until you land on the Exit button. 3. Press the up arrow key once, which will place you on the tabs that contains Scanner, Protection, Update, etc. 4. Hold down the Ctrl key and right arrow to the, Settings, tab. 5. On the Settings tab, tab 1 time you'll be on the, General tab but, do not tab right here. You want to press, control + right arrow, to the, Updater, tab. Now on the, Updater tab, tab 1 time to, Download and install program update if available, uncheck this box. Tab 1 more time to, Notify me when a program update is ready for installation, uncheck this box as well. 6. Now tab to, Exit, press enter. Take care. Mike This email was sent from my, iBarstool. I can't speak to whether it is accessible under Windows, as I don't use that platform that much, but I can say tht is accessible under Gnome and Linux. So, in my opinion, if the application follows the standard GUI accessbility requirements for the given platform, their is no reason why it can't be accesible and hence you won't need suchb a list like that. Now, on the other hand, if accessibility is still a work-in-progress, and it is still being developed, this is an entierely different story, and maybe this should be moved to a more appropriate, developer-specific list. Anyways, just my two-sense. So, if you don't aggree, this isn't a problem for me at all. We are all entitiled to our opnions, and their is none which is wrong. -Erik On Thu, Apr 17, 2014 at 3:01 PM, Dana S. TB is accessible; but it would be much more conveniently so with some supportive scripts. Has anyone used hostgator? I'm not using Bluehost as I originally planned, as the site is only mostly accessible. Hostgator seems more accessible, and the site is updated, and the live chat is now accessible. I'm just curious.
