[JAWS-Users] Difference between standard and professional
I would like to know the difference between the standard and professional version of JAWS. I know one is for home use and the other is for school and/or business. What I would like to know is there differences in what JAWS can do or not do between these two versions? Especially since I have Office 2013 Home and Business edition, will the standard still work with this? Anything else will be appreciated. Re: [JAWS-Users] Thoughts on Internet Stations and Accessibility
I use and like Pandura. It is somewhat accessible for me. When a song is playing I can find out who the artist is. I can read the name of the song that is playing. I can find out what album the song is on. I can also read a bio on this artist. I can also choose which of my stations I want to listen to, if I choose to. And I have a way to change my personal information. But, I have not found a way to add a new artist to my play stations. I have to get my wife to do that for me. I cannot choose thumbs up or down on a song that is playing. But Pandora is really great for me, because it plays much of the music that I like. I could never get all of that music on my own for ninety nine cents per track. Good luck. Re: [JAWS-Users] Difference between standard and professional
Hi Melissa This is what Jaws tells us about each version. Standard Licenses Become Home Use Edition for Non-Commercial Use Most end users who are buying new computers today, end up purchasing systems that come with professional editions of Windows 7 or Windows 8. In order to make this easier and more affordable, we have changed the traditional JAWS Standard so it will now work on either Home or Professional versions of Windows. At the same time, we are changing the name from Standard to JAWS Home Edition and it is intended for Non-Commercial Use as well as ideal for anyone who intends to use JAWS on their personal laptop or desktop computer. Just like the JAWS Professional licenses, JAWS Home Use Edition licenses will allow JAWS 16 to install and run on both Home and Professional editions of Windows. When running a JAWS Home Use Edition license, JAWS will announce in both speech and braille JAWS Home Use Edition at startup. Also, the JAWS application window has been changed. The Title of the JAWS Window now says JAWS Home Use and in the main window area, it will display graphical text that says Noncommercial Use Only. Finally, Home Use Edition is also displayed in the JAWS About dialog box which is accessed from the Help menu. JAWS 16 is designed to recognize all existing Standard licenses and will automatically work as a Home Use Edition now on both Home and Professional machines. All new licenses of JAWS 16 that are shipped will be set up using either the new Home Use Edition license or the traditional Professional license. In the case of Professional Licenses, JAWS 16 will now announce JAWS Professional in speech and braille at startup as well. Finally, we have included the option to purchase and use the JAWS Remote support to the Home Use Edition Licenses. This will allow your license to work in Remote Desktop, Terminal Services, or Citrix connections with other computers. Previously, this option was only available for purchase with JAWS Professional Licenses. -Original Message- From: Melissa Hambleton Sent: Wednesday, December 17, 2014 1:49 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Difference between standard and professional I would like to know the difference between the standard and professional version of JAWS. Re: [JAWS-Users] Difference between standard and professional
There is no difference between Home and Professional starting with Jaws 16. The only difference is that if you are using it in a commercial application, you need to get the Pro version. The Home version is for individuals. Re: [JAWS-Users] Automatic Formatting in Word
Yes, open your Office tab alt-f. Go to Word Options. Select the proofing option under the category view and tab to the auto-correct settings. Control tab to the Apply-as-you-type page. Uncheck the boxes automatic bulleted lists, and automatic numbered lists. Take my advice, I don't use it anyway. Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS 16 automatic update today
I can guess The only time updates will work is if you restart Jaws and have an internet connection. So, if you didn't restart Jaws 16 or reboot your computer, no notification. If you did that and didn't get a notification and you have Jaws 16 to give you update notifications, then something weird happened. No, just advise FS when you upgrade so you don't pay extra for the Pro SMA. - Original Message - From: Janie Degenshein To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Tuesday, December 16, 2014 6:00 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Difference between standard and professional No should be fine -Original Message- From: John Vernaleken` Sent: Tuesday, December 16, 2014 5:56 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Difference between standard and professional I am now retired and no longer need Professional. You will need to reset your computer, or check for updates through the help menu. If your computer is on all the time you probably will not see it. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Gary Ray Sent: Tuesday, December 16, 2014 1:26 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS 16 automatic update today I have a puzzle.
