I am using Firefox latest on a new Win 10 computer with latest Jaws. For
several days now when Firefox first opens, whether to my Google home page or
to another page opened from a link, Jaws reads out the following alert:

I do not have Chrome installed. I looked at my Firefox add ons and there is
nothing about Chrome. listed. I did read recently that there is a Chrome
add-on that is harmful.
The Internet Explorer on my Toshiba laptop does not seem to work that well
and IE has usually had more security problems than FF.

But, anyway, FF works pretty well on Win 10, at least for me.

Hello,
I recently updated vipre. I keep having notifications pop up up in I.e.
telling me that the firewall is turned off.
How/where in vipre do you now find the firewall settings. I can only locate

Re: [JAWS-Users] Firefox revisited

2016-01-02 Thread Gerald Levy

Firefox 43, the latest version, introduced a security feature that prevents
unsigned, third-party add-ons like Webvisum from working. If you depend on
Webvisum to solve image captchas like many of us do, follow these steps to
get it to work with Firefox 43:

1. Open Firefox 43 and in the address bar, type the below line as seen
with no spaces:
about:config
2. You will get a Firefox warning saying: 'This may void your
warranty.' Click on the button that sardonically says: 'I'll be
careful, I promise.'
3. tab once to the list of 700 or so items and press the letter X. You
are looking for the below item:
xpinstall.signatures.required
4. When this item is highlighted, press the context keyh or right click
and choose toggel or press T (same thing.)
5. The highlighted value should change to false as in:
xpinstall.signatures.required;false

Then press control + W to close the window and when you run Firefox
again, Webvisum should work.

Hi Kimsan and All,

Here's a useful tip that I picked up while trying to solve this not-running
problem, which may also apply to TheQube, etc, (although I don't have that
program on this machine at the moment). After you've set the Run as Admin,
which you're required to do anyway: Then go into the shortcut page - the
desktop shortcut will do for this - and activvate the Advanced Properties
button; and then CHECK the CHECKBOX "always run as administrator". OK the
change. So that from this point whenever you launch TW Blue, by default you
will meet with the User Account dialogue, at whichj you press alt-y. Now
right-arrow to open the Tree View (if you're using TW Blue's window) and
choose your buffer. That's that problem solved. I hope that also applies to
Windows10.

It should open like any other window like any other program, unless it's
hidden when you exit the program then it stays hidden when relaunching it,
if I'm not mistaken. TW Blue doesn't show on the system tray, nor launch

Both, TWBlue and chicken nugget used to show in the system tray then one

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Managing Twitter Followers

My issue with cn is that the window is hidden and I can't seem to unhide it.
I've used whatever the keystroke was to unhide it abut nothing.
I've also removed and reinstalled it, nothing...

I'm running out of beer, so I stopped for now lol.

I know that you gave up on Chicken Nugget. But it might succeed where TW
Blue didn't. I'm on 3.2 of #CN and, although it has an occasional hiccup -
as all of these Twitter clients are wont to have these days - it works well
(with JAWS). It has been re-designed with Windows10 in mind, also. I am
using Windows. I still have TW Blue around, and intend taking it for a spin
now and again.

Happy New Year to all on here.

I do not know why I keep going back to it when it never works. Lol.

You sent an email previously about administrator etc, and I've done that and
nothing.

I'll just use twitter on the web.

Thanks for taking the time to write though.

I hope that also applies to
Windows10.

They both give me hardships using windows 10, even when I was using 8.1.
First, the qube never launched, even in compatibility mode, and tw blue does
not launch from the desktop icon even when I run it as administrator. The
only way to get tw blue to launch is to click the .exe file in the programs
file folder.
Can you send me a link to the qube so I can try it one more time?
Thanks.

Oh dear. You kinda need the window interface available for working with it
at least sometimes.

You can do all of these things in TW Blue as well, with or without a window.

You've a choice of keymaps, Qwitter (the old Qube) being one. Very
accessible with JAWS, naturally.

Hi,
I use The Qube.
I like it better than TW Blue, because you drive it with key board commands
and there is no window to mess with on your computer. It runs totally in the
back ground, and you can use it no matter what other window you are in. It
has buffers for followers, friends, and you can create a buffer

This is just a guess but since Microsoft bought Skype they may have included as
an optional download or update. If your system updates automatically it may
have come as a Christmas present.

I did not download or install Skype however this afternoon it was on my
computer. This is on a win 7 machine running I.E.

I have no idea how or from where it came.
I hope that nothing else was installed without my knowledge.
Any ideas from where it came?
I was able to remove it via the control panel.
