[JAWS-Users] Style selection in Microsoft Word 2016

2016-08-15 Thread Jason White
Dear JAWS Users,

In Microsoft Word 2013, the "apply styles" combo box used to complete the name
of the style you entered, and allow navigation through the list of styles by
using up/down arrow keys after typing a partial or complete style name.

Now in Word 2016, typing the initial letters of the name is enough to complete
it automatically, but arrow keys aren't showing me other styles in the list of
available styles. The braille output under JAWS 17 shows the completed style
name after the first few letters are typed, but there's no speech output - a
problem for those working primarily with speech (I'm not such a person, but
I'm noting it for those who are).

Has anyone else been running into problems with the "apply style" pane in Word
2016 - Ctrl+Shift+S?

There's another style pane (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S) that at least gives a list of
styles available in the document.

Comments are welcome. After this and another frustration, I'm glad I write my
documents in something other than a word processor. The other problem was as
follows. Suppose you select the first several words as a paragraph, then use
Alt+Ctrl+1 to convert them into an in-line heading; you're effectively
applying the Heading 1 character style. Next, create a table of contents for
the document. According to my Web search, it's supposed to be possible to
exclude certain styles from the headings used to create the table of contents
- in this case the Heading 1 character styles - but I can't find the right
control under the table of contents options.

In other words, I wanted a plain Heading 1 style to be included in the TOC,
but not the Heading 1 character style. If you know how to do this,
enlightenment is welcome.

Re: [JAWS-Users] repeating a track in winamp

2016-08-15 Thread Mario
if you decide to play one track, r will repeat the track once it is
finished playing provided the repeat mode is off, but if you decide to
play a playlist, r will repeat the entire play list once it finishes
playing the tracks. for example, playlist A has 3 songs, and song #2 is
playing. oo, I want to hear that song again. type x to repeat song #2.
but if you want to repeat song #2 that is part of a playlist, pressing r
will not repeat that song. r will repeat the entire playlist after song
#3 finishes. then song #1 will start playing, then song #2 and finally
song #3. and then the playlist starts again unless repeat is toggled off.

you can toggle repeat on and off while a track is playing.

Let's say I'm playing a play list that has 10 tracks, and I am walking

can I just have track 3 repeat, instead of constantly pressing x. Yes, I
can just play that one song but what if after playing it 4 times, I want it
off repeat and resume playing track 4, 5 etc.

Hello;
To access the run command, just use the keystroke, ctrl+r=run,

Yes, you can use either,
Control userpasswords2 or, netplwiz in the run command dialog.

Is "control userpasswords2" exactly how you type that?
And, does anyone know where run commands for windows 10 are?

Hello; try the following,

When your computer is loaded up to the desktop,

1, ctrl+r=run,
Type in: netplwiz
Press enter,

If you have the UAC on you will need to say yes to allow,
Now you will see,
Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer
The box is most likely checked,
So uncheckc with spacebar,
Now tab ok,
Next you will be prompted to type username and password,
Once you do this, you're computer should boot right to the desktop.

Hope this helps.
