Re: [JAWS-Users] System Configuration Warning Screen
Hi David, No, once turned off that message disappears & has to be brought back using a command prompt or by going into the registry to edit the value. I got it back via the command prompt, but both the command prompt, & what to change in the registry are below. Here are my notes: From: Mike B. Restore the restart prompt in System Configuration Utility 1. Open the command prompt, & paste the string of text below into command prompt. 2. Press enter, exit command prompt, & reboot the computer. CMD /K REG DELETE "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MsConfig" /v NoRebootUI http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/restore-the-restart-prompt-in-the-system-configuration-utility-msconfig/ 1. Click Start, type the following command and press ENTER: CMD /K REG DELETE "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MsConfig" /v NoRebootUI /f (You may copy the above command-line and paste it in the Start, Search box, instead of typing it manually.) 2. You should see the following message in the Command Prompt: The operation completed successfully. 3. Type EXIT to close the Command Prompt Window. USING THE REGISTRY EDITOR Alternately, you can edit the registry directly to remove the value. Use these steps: 1. Click Start, type Regedit.exe and press ENTER HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Shared Tools \ MsConfig 2. Delete the value named NoRebootUI in the right pane. 3. Exit the Registry Editor. [JAWS-Users] Sound Card Diagnostics Question
Evening all. I have a Dell laptop, and periodically, JAWS will stop speaking. I can get other sounds, i.e. the tone when a usb device is unplugged, etc. I am uncertain as to whether it is my software, or my sound card. If it is my jaws program, or my sound card, but Can anyone tell me if there is a way to run a diagnostics on either one? I am using JAWS 17, on a Dell laptop, with Windows 10. Thanks in advance. It would be nice to see scripts for thunderbird that would allow you to quickly grab header information like subject who the message is to cc bcc sent from etc. I don't believe anything like that exists. As far as I know, despite some new functions like integrated codecs and player, multi-device synchronization compatibility and built-in anti-virus, the only you'd fix upgrading to Pro is the ads. Re: [JAWS-Users] e-mail programs
I have only read a couple of messages in this thread but I just saw your comment about how expensive Outlook is, especially since you have 3 machines. I believe you are thinking of the $69 copy for 1 machine. I use the $100annual version and load it onto FIVE machines. I could also pay $9.95 per month for the same. For this I get the entire Microsoft Office Suite of programs with Outlook. George The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
