Mike,

To my surprise, you are correct. There does seem to be a character limit of
about 155 characters, even with no line breaks. So definitely use the vzwpix
address format.

Hi Lenny,

There are actually 2 domains you can use to send text messages from your
computer with Jaws to a Verizon user. The first one is for text messages &
I don't have any luck with this one because it has a limited number of
characters, but even if I don't exceed the character count my family /
friends don't get the whole text, so I use the second one.
#1:
phonenum...@vtext.com

This second one is the domain for sending pictures / sound files, & doesn't
appear to have a limit, so to speak, & the domain I always use for sending
text messages.
#2:
phonenum...@vzwpix.com

Hi Justin,

First my non computer lingo crap explanation. Running Windows 7 & 10 Pro 64
bit, with Jaws 16 thru J2018:
I will use this particular example with System Restore. If you go into
System Restore, there's a checkbox that you need to check in order to see
more restore points than 1 or 2. If I have my screen resolution set very
high, I can't find this checkbox, but if I lower the resolution I can find
it using the Jaws cursor. I know my settings are different than others, so
people please don't start flooding the list with comparisons because we all
have various experiences that others call hogwash, & I'm not trying to argue
with anyone, only stating my personal experiences.

Simple explanation from the internet:

It is usually quoted as width × height, with the units in pixels: for
example, "1024 × 768" means the width is 1024 pixels and the height is 768
pixels.
This example would normally be spoken as "ten twenty-four by seven
sixty-eight" or "ten twenty-four by seven six eight".

The most important thing is not the monitor size, but its ability to
display the higher resolution images. The higher you set the resolution, the
smaller the images on the screen will be, and there comes a point at which
the text on the screen becomes so small it's not readable. On a larger
monitor it is possible to push the resolution very high indeed, but if that
monitor's pixel density is not up to par, you won't get the maximum possible
resolution before the image becomes unreadable. In many cases the monitor
will not display anything at all, if you tell Windows to use a resolution
the monitor cannot handle.
In other words, don't expect miracles out of a cheap monitor. When it comes
to high-definition displays, you definitely get what you pay for.

Would it be possible to do that for JPG files also? I can use Openbook or

the bestest.

2018-04-06 Thread Mike B.
Hi All,

I'm helping someone set-up a Windows 7 32 bit computer, and he'll probably
be using Jaws versions 13, 14, or 15. At what version did Jaws stop using,
1024 × 768, as the default screen resolution setting? Thank y'all very
much.

Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers!

2018-04-06 Thread Blackwell, Clifford
I went to the Utilities menu and did a "migrate" and brought the settings from
an earlier version of JAWS into my current verision and build and now JAWS is
behaving itself. Thanks for the suggestions.

I went back and set punctuation to none and I'm still getting lots of
description. I think a reinstall might be in order.

You shouldn't be getting all that information at the intermediate level. I
wonder if you're somehow not using the default speech and sound scheme. Have
you tinkered with that setting or something else along those lines?

I'm using Windows 7, JAWS 2018 latest build and now Office 2016. I've set JAWS
verbosity to intermediate and punction to some, but JAWS is still reading
parenthesis, brackets, dashes and lots of punction that it did not read before.
Any suggestions of how I can make JAWS less chatty?

[JAWS-Users] accessible image editor

2018-04-06 Thread Marvin Hunkin
Hi. Doing a interactive gaming course from
http://www.upskilled.edu.au and now use jaws for windows 2018. So was
wondering, what's the best accessible image editors. Did find paint.net 3d
for windows 10. It is accessible, is this my best option for creating,
images, sprites, graphics for a 2d and 3d game.

Thanks.
